  • The design of Knuckles looks great in the new Sonic movie, but who the heck thought it was a good idea to make him sound like P uss in Boots? Idris Elba did my man Knuckles dirty.
I was playing the superior mobile version of Sonic Forces today and at the end of the race I noticed one of the players was named Ken Penders. Suddenly all of the memories, the good, bad, and very bad memories of Ken's run with Archie Sonic came pouring in.

Characters like Lien-da and Julie Su were alright though.
Anyone remember the Japanese language version of Melee having a Smash Bros cartridge in the Super Famicom? Imagine if someone made a Smash fan game that could run on a SNES emulator and actual hardware.

I was expecting Kazuya getting a Tekken 2 purple suit as a color and I got it.
What I didn't expect was Dio Mishima as another color.
Rabbid Rosalina was vibing until Mario woke her up.
I haven't played the first Mario Rabbids game yet but the rabbid Rosa is my favorite now.
I'm getting some Alien Isolation vibes from the gameplay of the new FNAF trailer and I very interested in how this game turns out. Now I want to see Scott Cawthon design an animatronic that looks like it crawled out of H.R. Giger's art and added into the game as a special boss or enemy.
So Ryu and Chun-Li are in Fortnite. Seriously the guest character roster in that game is pretty crazy. I guess I'll make some time to start playing Fortnite again.

That would be incredible. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if that happened when you consider he has a movie coming out vs King Kong (not sure if it's out already or not). Jonesy warps in the middle of a battle between Godzilla and King Kong and brings them into Fortnite, shrunken down and carrying weapons.

I'd love to see Capcom add more of their characters in Fortnite, but characters that actually use guns. Jill Valentine, Leon, Wesker, BB Hood, Dante and Lady, maybe bad box art Mega Man? Hell, I wouldn't even mind if they double dipped in SF and added Guile. At least Guile wouldn't look too weird running around in Fortnite with guns.

Now that would be a Family Guy Funny Moment.
I haven't played Xenoblade 2 so I don't know anything about the lore but I wanted to ask; Are Pyra and Mythra just swords in humanoid form? Are they robots? A hard-light projection from Rex's sword? Are they similar to Digimon but the swords are the Digivices?

They're "blades" aka humanoid "beings" with more or less super powers who have their own swords or other weapons that they basically can summon themselves and are instinctively proficient in using. Their "drivers" such as Rex, awaken the blades from crystals, and then that blade becomes "bound" to that driver for so long as they live, allowing that driver to instantly become proficient in that very weapon while they blade basically focus's their powers into them. All blades are bound unless the driver dies, or freely releases them back into a crystal, in either case they lose all memories of their past life, but are essentially immortal because of this unless the core crystal somehow get's destroyed/damaged.

Mythra/Pyra are a special case however, they're regarded as the legendary blade the Aegis, she/they do not turn back into crystals and didn't actually "lose" her memory. And Pyra herself didn't even exist originally, Mythra experienced such a traumatizing experience in her past life that she basically created her other half, Pyra, as a way to cope, and now suppressed all her former memories of it, in part by creating pyra.

EDIT: also in typical weird anime fashion, some blades and drivers do become lovers, though they can't breed cuz basically drivers are actual mortal beings and blades aren't. Thankfully the game doesn't go into much detail over this and just kinda implies it/heavily hints it. It's only been implied that blades with a more humanoid appearance tend to fall in love with their drivers, though cuz this is a crazy anime game, It wouldn't surprise me if some drivers fell in love with some of the weirder looking blades...

That sounds pretty interesting, I appreciate the information on them. I also found out that they have a 3rd transformation (a green-haired girl) but that's all I know as far as potential spoilers. I've been holding off on getting into the Xenoblade games but I guess now would be the perfect opportunity. From some of the media I've seen the world and aesthetic of the first two games is appealing to me.

I'd try the first game first, just cuz I find Shulk a more interesting character, seeing as his original motive for his journey isn't what you'd typically expect of the hero(his is 100% pure revenge/vengeance over something that happens early on, not usually how you'd expect a hero to start out, with pure hatred of the enemy and wanting to destroy every single one of them as brutally as possible.)

But the second has far easier battle mechanics and is easier overall, and once you get far enough in the game to have all the real mechanics available to you, battles can get pretty exciting. Also collecting all the unique blades can prove to be addicting(just a word of advice, never give any of the core crystals to Rex unless you have to, there's a reason why later on), seeing as almost all unique blades in XC2 were designed by different anime and japanese game artists, each of them have very unique looking designs. Somehow they managed to make them all fit, but there's definitely a few that you really can tell were from a drastically different artists. Also a particular fight in xc2 pays definite homage to old animes with giant mechs. I won't spoil it, but the goofiness of the music, as well as how the battle cutscene starts, was 100% inspired by an old 80s or 70s anime. It's pretty clear that the developers of this one really wanted to pay some respect to the many different anime styles over the years.

So yeah if you want a more unique hero character, and some more complex battle mechanics, and overall more interesting story(IMO), go with one. But if you like simpler mechanics, while having a slightly more humorous(at times, it can get pretty serious at points as well) but more "predictable" anime type story, and many unique character designs, on top of the addictiveness of collecting blades and maxing out their affinity, go with two.

While 2 does hint at events of the first game towards the end, and is overall meant as a way to tie them together, you won't be missing out on any major plot points, or get spoiled by much from the first games plot(as it really is just the very ending of both games where 2 tries to tie it together.) if you play it first, so you can play either one in any order.
Whoever is the next fighter just please, don't be BOTW Zelda.

Now watch it come true, and I accidently willed her into existence just because I complained about her.
I knew another FF7 character was possible. I wanted Tifa but Sephiroth is also a damn good choice.

EDIT: More FF7 music let's goooooooo
