For me, the 'required mod' is the Unofficial Patch. Otherwise it's all texture replacers and the like. I have a nice one that puts gold trim on the Ebony gear to bring it in line with Morrowind/Oblivion, and I can't see it any other way. That and a font replacer. I really don't like that...
