SAKURAI SHIELD SPECIAL - E3 DISAPPOINTMENT

A little note about Sakurai's shield mechanic - Sakurai's shield is the normal shield, except it has a little fancy E3 logo enscribed on it. Product placement? No, it's just a ********* to get you excited for the inevitable reveal of SSB4 at E3! Ohohoho!

Now, pressing the special input while holding out his shield has Sakurai's shield...dwindle? It's not dwindling, but Sakurai is fooling the foes into thinking it is, an outright disappointment of an E3 showing! The shield lifted by this acts like a normal shield, with damage done to it effecting the size even quicker and whatnot. Sakurai will even enter a false shield-broken state if he is attacked enough...that he can immediately attack out of, quickly setting up a piss trap if the stage is tilted or simply whacking the foe away with a quick attack. Sakurai's actual shield will be drained to half it's size (or to the point where it will instantly break after he lifts it up, if it was less) after this, slowly recovering.

As a bonus, whenever Sakurai attacks out of this shieldbroken state, he will exclaim "NO SMASH 4 FOR YOU!" with a jolly laugh.

Shield Special

Sakurai extracts a platform from his pocket, how he does this I don't know. He then proceeds to place it above his head, it functioning like a regular Brawl drop through platform, being 1.5x as wide as a Battlefield platform. The key thing about this platform is that it will actually be rotated by a single pounding of the hammer, giving him a much easier to rotate platform than the main one. You can potentially slide your traps onto the main stage using it too, on that note. Unfortunately you can only have one of these out at a time.

But wait a minute, there appears to be a light on the bottom of this platform. But it's off? Could it be, BOARD THE PLATFORMS? Unfortunately, Sakurai took this game mode out of the game, so when the opponent attempts to stand on the platform, it will disappear. So you'll definently want to keep this platform well protected from your opponents.
