Explain please? ^^

The edges on the first part of the stage are booty, and difficult to sweet spot. The first layout of the stage is also kinda small, so if you have characters like Meta Knight and Peach who are good at shutting your spacing, you'll find yourself struggling to have some space.

Second part of the stage gives you more space, and the statues block most projectiles, allowing you to safely Din's through it - not to mention it can refresh your moves and extend your hitboxes, such as f-smash. The ceiling is very high, making those vertical kills a bit trickier to pull off. And we have to be careful not to get gayed by the walk offs.

Third part of the stage - idk, seems like the most balanced of the other parts in terms of spacing. Ceiling isn't too high, no walk offs, and while the edges aren't as annoying as the first part of the stage - the tilting can mess us up sometimes similarly to Lylat, just not as bad.

Sorry got work! I'll explain it someday~

Went to T-block's place last night and had some good games but no replay hacks! Pretty much only got this and it doesn't really show how good he really is. Typically Squirtle ***** me and the games are more even than what I'm about to post, though the scales normally tip in his favour~

PS: This might be the only thing I ever upload of me winning >__>

I prefer not to assume without knowing the story. I'll sit back on the sidelines and watch this play out.

Happy 4th of July! No fireworks for my state :( . IN YOUR FACE BRITISH PEOPLE! HAHAHA!

Quick thing about Castle Siege before I go...

First portion of the stage is small which makes camping Zelda a bit more difficult. I don't really have trouble with the ledges because it's like Pokemon Stadium... once you know how to recover it doesn't become a huge problem. In response to Mocha, you'll find that when you play people that know Zelda or pick things up quickly, recovering on the ledge is often an extremely risky option and not worth considering. Yes characters with superior spacing may give Zelda trouble but I think the lack of space also helps Zelda actually land moves.

Second portion... it has nice extended blastzones and Zelda will live longer than normal. Din's Fire is actually good in this stage since it bypasses the statues allowing Zelda to *gasp* outcamp people? The floor gives her a lot of space to do pivot grabs. The statues extend her hitboxes which is nice to surprise people once or twice. As long as you keep in mind how close Zelda is to the horizontal blastzones I don't see too much trouble. Also, that ground release to dsmash is pretty lolzy.

Third portion of the stage is kind of like FD. I don't think the bump on the stage really affects Zelda but recovering isn't too difficult like in Lylat.

Anyway, afk lol.

Guess as far as recovering goes, we basically have to treat it like PS1 and Lylat's edges - that is, never go for the edge xD

But yeah, that sounds more or less like what I thought you'd say. Ground release to d-smash? I do that near the edges sometimes, catches them off guard when I d-smash or d-tilt (and better yet they get d-tilt spiked) lol. I can definitely see the second part being helpful as far as camping and extended hitboxes goes, just be careful with people who like to abuse the sides on you.

So, the gist of the story is: Try Castle Siege Zeldas!

Not sure what stage I'd CP if Castle Siege gets stagebanned, but I may try Halberd...

The only stage I try avoid with Zelda is YI:B.... It's just sad...
I mean, you have some gimmicks on RC and Brinstar, even Frigate can be not too bad.

But YI:B is just ridiculous.

I'm thinking Lylat might be good. (Halberd sucks)

Fuujin could probably argue otherwise but he's banned.

I have extremely good luck at that stage.

Ed, mind explaining how Yoshi's Island is good for Zelda? Nothing really stands out for me.

I am new to Zelda and don't know much about her counterpicks, but even I feel Yoshi's Island is bad. ):

Brawl YI is terrible for my Link and Zelda. The tilty platform even blocks Din's when angled so a projectile hits the top. It's good for pressuring and platform pressure but any type recoveries usually SD or setup Zelda to be launch away again.

IMO BF for Zelda is a better Lylat/YI. Brin might be good except sharkers and other characters can exploit it much more than Zelda. Frigate's okay but several other characters can use the right ledge-less side to their advantage and recover safely better than Zelda so Frigate's only good vs characters who hate it, Link/Ness/Lucas/Olimar/maybe PT (Ivy is a free KO if you throw/Dsmash her off right), less-so Wolf/Ganon.

I like CS with Zelda. Nair on statues is great on shields and Din's is better there. Picto, on the rare occasion that it's legal, can be really good for Zelda. She works well with the hazards.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Zelda doesn't have any great stages. Low tiers often struggle with this. There's always a character who can be CPed that shuts Zelda down. Marth on BF, Falco several places, Wolf can be EVIL on YI and Lylat, MK... And so on :/ .

Hm I feel like sometimes Zelda needs a tinge of jankiness :)

Battlefield is definitely solid but the same goes for most people I'd say...

I'm spilling the beans. I've started working on a tactical guide for Zelda based upon the videos I've seen (and my use of Zelda for some parts). going to need help on two parts though (single player match-ups and doubles Match-ups (strategy with ally). if anyone wants to help PM me.
Also not going to post it until I finish it and send it to Kataefi.

Sounds cool.

Imo, you should post the thread right now. Even though we might be able to help, being able to see the guide will make it easier to discuss.

Does Kataefi even come on Smashboards anymore?

YI:B is awesome because all you have to do is work to control the center of the stage. If you can maintain some control of the center, it forces the opponent to work alot harder to get to you. Aerial based characters have even a harder time because of the platform and are forced to telegraph things pretty bad. Only really strong ground based characters can push Zelda around here if you play for the center. Also, there is NO problem with recovery here. NONE! Only issue I have ever experience here is when you are too close to the ledge and do a fireball and fall down and die. That's it lol.

I also agree that CS, is awesome for Zelda. You have to know how to play it though.

Hm that sounds interesting Ed. I'm definitely gonna have to try Yoshi's more although atm I still think CS is better :p That platform sounds like an up air explosion fest!

Zeldas, we really need to respond whenever people contribute asap! It sucks to feel ignored after making some kind of contribution and it really doesn't do the board any favours :(

People aren't trying to ignore or be rude, I assume. The forums are mostly dead; Zelda boards are better than most too :( .

YI recoveries are harder on wifi. I might not like it with Zelda because Wolf can abuse the stage so much better. Zelda looks worse by comparison and her failed recoveries show :/ .

It really is tedious to say the least recovering on YI:B :-/
Though I have to say, I agree with Aleate, CS is such a stage for Zelda :D
