Here, let me tl:dr that for everybody.

In other news, Nintendo's E3 conference is starting. Who'll be watching?

Edit: It's over. The announcements that stood out most to me:

• New console is called WiiU
• The new controller is damn huge and looks mad heavy.
• Games for WiiU will include Ninja Gaiden 3, Tekken, Batman:AC, Assassin's Creed and others, hinting for the future gamebase to really be more "HC gamer" friendly
• Zelda live music concerts and CD:s and short clips of gameplay hinting new Zelda game for WiiU
• Not surprising announcements of Mario 3D for 3DS and New super Mario Bros Wii sequel for WiiU
• LUIGI'S MANSION 2!
• NEW SMASH BROS GAME FOR BOTH WIIU AND 3DS! (although it won't be out in a loooooong time)

Two other interesting things I noticed:

• Absolutely no announcements concerning Wii. Which most likely means the console is dying fast.
• Still no information as to what the "mystery game" Retro Studios is currently working on might be.

Well they went into detail about skyward sword early on, and that's for Wii but, I mean, should you really be surprised? When you release a new console, you can't keep marketing the old one or people won't think they need the new one.


Also:

The Wii-U has a stupid name and an awesome controller . . . . that is not good for "hardcore" games (I hope the GCN controller is still compatible)

Otherwise, however, the console is AMAZING. I really don't see how microsoft or sony can attempt to compete since the Wii-U is also supposed to be really powerful.

Well that's true, but I was hoping they'd still announce something for the Wii. There's a year until WiiU is released and absolutely no games coming for the Wii apart from the Skyward Sword. It wouldn't even have to be any new games, just confirmation that some already-released-in-japan titles are coming to western shores.

Seriously, where are the localisation announcements for the Last Story and Pandora's Tower? When are we going to get more information about the Rhythm Heaven Wii? When is the European release date for Xenoblade and is it going to be released in US? These are the questions I wanted to get answers for.

The man DOES speak truth, however.

I mean, I LOVE the regal, graceful, etc. adult Zelda, but if you're comparing this new Zelda to all the outher young Zeldas that have existsed so far, there is really no comparison.

Princess Zelda has always had an interesting Dynamic. I always got the feeling in Twilight Princess that she could have mopped the floor with Link if she'd wanted to, but, for the safety of her people, she couldn't personally fight Ganon/Zant

That's what ALWAYS seems to happen with Zelda. She's always got her hands tied behind her back for some reason so she can only ever fight indirectly. (until the final battle normally). It's obvious that, as Zelda fans, we expect a more deep storyline than "save the princess" so I DO rather wonder why it continually has to be one of the main quests.

That was my first reaction too. They're going for the cutesy looks this time, I get it, but it's not working for me. I mean, all the previous reincarnations of Zelda have either been young, childlike girls or beautiful, womanly ladies. This sort of in-between version of her... it just doesn't feel right.

Also, I liked brunette Zelda better.

Based on the trailer, I'd say it's pretty safe to say that Zelda and Link live together on the island of the sky, get separated, Link meets the sword girl from the consept art and some guy who gives him the green tunic and then sets off to find Zelda. However, the trailer also implies that Zelda is eaten by a flying fish or whale or similar.

It IS weird, though, that we have an adult link and a young zelda . . . not sure I like that.

Does their age difference really seem that big to you? From what I've seen I'd consider them to be nearly (or exactly) the same age and a bit younger than the Link of Twilight Princess.
