What is there not to love about something horrifying popping up in your face?
Every time a jump scare is posted without a spoiler tag.

Someone dies on the inside.

It is rumored that it's extremely bad if it's done in the night hours.

It's time. Together, we can end death to jump scares. Vote no to scary GIFs with no spoiler tags.

Probably the excitement it can give a person and the jolt feeling of being in danger, but in the comfort and safety of not really bring in scary danger. If not cuz ur a masochist idk.

Tbh scary anything is better done without. *shrugs*
This pretty much sums it up for me. The rush! The excitement! The being too scared to be alone in the dark for the next 2 days....
I'm a fan of Wakka and Blitzball.
I sucked so hard at Blitzball I just gave up, lol. I had no idea what I was doing. Looked fun, though.

Diddy has the "hoo hah" (I hate this term btw)
In case we weren't friends already. <3

The term "Hoo Hah" is possibly my biggest annoyance with the Smash Bros community. Literally the dumbest.

WHO WANTS TO PLAY FRIENDLIES ON KALOS (against not Mega)?

Also in the stage rotation would be Norfair, MK8, and I guess Windy Hill Zone because I should learn it.

Honest question: What's the appeal to scary movies? Even further, what's the appeal to scary games? I never found the desire to see if I needed to turn the light on at night or not.
I don't like most scary things if they rely on nasty gory imagery but psychological horror interests me. It's a rush. Like Hitchcock's 'The Birds' scene where the guy is wading through the birds but they aren't attacking him; it's so creepy because it's illogical. If the birds wanted to kill him that would be the time but they're following some sort of hive mind. Is this an act of god, like that old man said? Is it something even greater than the birds becoming intelligent or aggressive from a virus, something supernatural? It's fun.

One thing that freaks me out is the open ocean so looking at sea creatures gives me chills. Like this Frilled Shark:

*shivers

I also really like reading SCPs. They're like how the X-Files would have been if intelligent people wrote them and didn't rely on the cute actors and ripping off the Twilight Zone.

I was a ****ing master at Blitzball. I got Wakka's terrible final Overdrive and I'd still play it because I liked putting the whole team to sleep with Sleep Pass and Sleep Tackle. Satisfying as hell.

I honestly can't believe "Hoo Hah" caught on as well as it did.

Also, I think Windy Hill Zone would've been an amazing stage if it wasn't so big.

I like atmospherical horror while what makes the situation scary is not the thing trying to kill you and more like just how unnerving the very place you are in is. I think the best example of this would probably be the Silent Hill games.

Though I don't like horror games in general. However, I dunno if anybody had the same reaction as me, but going through the Frigate Orpheon level in Metroid Prime was pretty unnerving to me because I kept walking around the place expecting something to attack me at some point. The scan data you got from scanning the dead enemies didn't help either. It got to the point that once the Space Pirates did start attacking me I felt more relieved than anything.

It does. I mainly meant the F-Smash though.
What's ridiculous is Diddy being able to act out if it so fast. Dtilt to Dtilt which spaced me away, so I thought I could Jab him, but after like the third or fourth whiffed Dtilt, he Side Smashes me before I can even Jab 2 or was it Rapid Jab? That's the stupid part about his Dtilt. We're talking about a spammable move and Diddy having fast, strong Smashes with good range. Did I mention his stupid, stretchy limbs? I should have used Dtilt or Ftilt.

Speaking of Dtilt to Side Smash, Mario and Dr. Mario can hit confirm with Dtilt to Side Smash, right?

Well, *puts on nerd glasses* according to the FNAF wiki, Foxy is not 'triggered' by anything, but simply randomly appears. Also, it's apparently possible to not look all the way at him. If you manage to turn away before looking directly at him you can flip up the monitor and he may go away. :p Or something like that. Basically it's possible NOT to get jumped by him and make him disappear.

Also Bonnie has no phantom form, but seems to simply be represented by spring trap. Who even gets called "spring Bonnie" in one training cassette phone call.

Note : Yes, FNAF WIKI. But their's is actually pretty legit. It seems to be kept up very professionally.
Huh, I hadn't even been to the FNaF wiki for the third game yet. Their wiki really is legit, very useful. And damn it no wonder I could never expect him, nor ever find Bonnie. I kept thinking, what am I doing wrong?? It took me forever to find Chica, and I'd managed to not get jumped by her the first time when I saw that grotesque face pop up on cam 7. Next time, was not so lucky.

I'll be sure to remember all that, though I'm refraining from reading much of the wiki yet since I still haven't beaten night five. Gotta hunker down and get to that at some point.

Did you ever beat FNAF's 2? I'm stuck on the 5th day... I TRIED SO HARD AND GOT SO FAR BUT IN THE END...
Bonnie always gets me.
I got through the first five nights, but haven't gotten through the sixth yet. So much happening, but it's ultimately the VERY RUDE CHICA AND BONNIE who get me by pulling my camera down repeatedly. I always think I'm too slow when putting on the head right after, but it's only the times when I think I've done it right that BAM, face full of animatronic. Another thing I need to get back to. That and night six on the first one.
TWI DON'T TALK ABOUT FNAF 3. It.....it brings back memories of when I watched you play...

...

Horrible.

Frightening.

DISTURBING.
AWFUL.
LIFE-SCARRING.

MEMORIES.
Beautiful memories. <3
:smirk:

Meanwhile I think it tried to auto-correct "So" to "ZSS" cuz why

Honestly he's kinda cute. :>
Isn't he? I'd find myself just talking to him wherever he popped up. Leading him around the building is fun, and honestly so is poking fun at him when I have him in the room in cam 10 and shut the vent in cam 14, and he just repeatedly crawls in and out of the vent, sad that he can't get to me. He did that for an entire night one time, it was hilariously tragic.

Wow, my posts always accumulate and grow into monsters. Someone stop me.

Yeah, I can get behind this. Persona Q's Evil Spirit Club legit made me tense (and slightly annoyed because it was so long), and so did The Last of Us on my blind playthrough. I can enjoy that feeling of tension because you're waiting for the inevitable to happen.

I remember my playthrough of the Last of us. I felt REALLY tense at the first half of the game but after getting more weapons and upgrades (and after adapting to dealing with clickers), it wasn't that tense.

Game was still great. Probably top 10 in Sony's list of games (#1 being Uncharted 2)

Yeah, Dtilt is super hard to punish with anything rewarding. Pretty sure Falco's F-tilt or D-tilt does the job though.

Mario's D-tilt pops his target too high, but you can get an air dodge read into F-Smash out of it. Otherwise, D-tilt combos into U-tilt, U-air, SJP, or B-air.

Mario can do falling U-air into F-Smash at mid percents, and that's pretty much the only true combo that involves F-Smash.

Maaaan, way to rub in to someone who isn't as gifted in the Blitzball department!

Kidding.

But maybe I should pop my copy of FFX into the ol' PS3 Phat and give it another shot...

Huh, maybe Dr. Mario's Dtilt has less knockback or a different angle? It might just be bad DI or whatever from my opponents, but Dtilt to Side Smash works with Dr. Mario for some reason.

Aren't they?? I don't freak anymore, but it always surprises me when they pull the camera down and I have to react quickly to not die. Never wind more than a quarter of the music box at a time.. they WILL get you. Oh, something from Sis? This'll be interesting. :awesome:
as well as what's waiting for you when you log in next. B))))))

I don't know... help me. It's getting to be like that one time we never speak of.

..........We don't speak of that. We don't bring it up. We don't do ANYTHING if it's related to that, ok? I'd just forgotten about it, too. Thanks a lot. .___.

About sums up my playthrough. I enjoyed it for what its worth, and I loved the story. That reminds me, I should actually play an Uncharted game for once.

Mario and Doc's D-tilt should be the same. You may be able to get it at 30% or something but I dunno. That's not really something I'd go for.

Since Final Fantasy is being brought up, who here played/is playing FFXIV?

I used to play it until I got a job, and now since I'm all-in with competitive smash I haven't touched it for months.

HEY. Don't pull out your hair, Light Yagami. It's 2fab. (For the rest of the Zeldas, me, Kaaz and others were talking on Skype and Kaaz earned himself the title of Light Yagami.)

Never played it. @Fernosaur, FFVII: AC's Cid's design was so simple and so badass.

And Cidney's eye candy.

:p
+1 for Cidney over hurr. :D

PSSSSH, I'M NOT LIGHT YAGAMI. I didn't earn that title, you FORCED it on me. There's a difference. Haha.
I wanted to call you Goku but sadly the spikes weren't DBZ level. Actually, they were barely spikes. Step up your game, Dan.

Played for the Persona.

Got me interested in EO but Persona Q's battle system is so easy to break I dunno if I would enjoy it.
O-oh...

I heard things along those lines about PQ but never played it myself, so I'm not entirely sure to what extent it was broken or how it would compare to EO; there tend to be some abusive things in EO games too, generally the more recent the game is the more balanced and "user friendly" it is, but also the easier it is in general. I think Untold's been the exception so far; playing that in Story mode on Expert difficulty, I don't feel like the game's handed me any gamebreaking tools 2/3 the way through it and at the same time the difficulty's been reminiscent of the older games (which, considering it's a remake of EO1, is fitting). I haven't been enjoying it anywhere near as much as EO2 or EO3 though, which easily rank among my favorite games of all time...possibly because I opted to try Story mode, the characters are all really uninteresting imo.

If you enjoyed PQ I'd definitely recommend EO. 3 (and from what I'm told, 4) probably have the most mass appeal/"best" game design, 2 sticks out as my personal favorite though - even running party comps meant to break the game, plenty of stuff can give you hell, and it takes some unique measures the other games don't (for example, FOEs on top of being stronger than EO3's give no experience, treating them as a threatening obstacle rather than an exp farming resource).

Sorry if that got kind of rambly, I just really really love this series lol
