Playing around with UpB 3 more. My opinion of this move's only been improving. The downward reach on the projectile is absurd, and connecting it will gimp all but the best recoveries if they go low, especially if it hits them under the stage. I really like how quickly Greninja shoots upward when using it too. Still generally worse than the default HP I'm sure, but I feel like this could be a niche option worth considering.

Range demonstration:

I really need to get in the hang of using Hydro Pump as an offensive option, or rather, for gimping and stage control. I tend to get the really weak water splashes when I try it, rather than the ones with knockback. Maybe I'm not jumping the right way. Still, that's pretty cool.

Dedede's upB only has superarmor for specific portions of the upB. Something kind of like this (red indicating armor):

Dedede's recovery is one of the ones I'd consider it for, considering how much he hates landing on stage.

EDIT: I knew it was a crappy illustration, but I'm only now beginning to appreciate how poorly drawn that curve is.

Hydro Pump doesn't cause knockback/hitstun, it just pushes. The custom move Single-Shot Pump turns the water into a projectile with stun and knockback instead.

I haven't been thoroughly impressed with Hydro Pump's windbox gimmicks since it got nerfed, though I hugely appreciate how flexible its recovery is. I could probably stand to do things like use it onstage more often, I saw aMSa doing that a ton when he was training for Apex.

imo Shifting Shuriken and to a lesser extent Exploding Attack are his only really worthwhile customs, though I will say my opinion of Shifting Shuriken went up a ton after I realized it had transcended priority. After 1.0.4 nerfed shuriken end lag I'm more of a fan of the potential combo/kill conversion off of Shifting Shuriken since spamming default WS for zoning isn't as much of an option anymore. I'm expecting to see a 3111 set used, at the least.

I'm completely aware of how Dedede's Up B works. What occurred was Dedede acted as if he hit a "ceiling" (did the animation and everything) at the beginning of his jump, and the momentum still carried him upwards. Endlag still made him SD.

Maybe it's because he was also using a Custom Up B? idk

Mario's neutral is so bad I don't even know why is his air speed so good. Brawl Mario is so much better. Luigi's Fireballs are much better too.

I get what you're doing with this post, but Luigi's fireballs legitimately are a lot better. They have something like 12~13f less end lag (~40f vs ~53f total), which is substantial; practically the difference between a tilt and a smash in terms of commit time.

I was browsing the tournament results then I bumped into this comment

Basically what happened was Denti was getting the biz from Espy's Little mac, I believe either him or espy CP skyloft and he honestly thinks the stage transition is why he lost against LM again when Double dtilt to KO punch is just guaranteed.

PS2 Denti opted for camping on rock transformation and Air transformation with peanuts instead of fighting so it went to time cause, just like the classic ADHD vs Zero instead of using any other move, he charged his UpB for like half a second and it allowed espy to get the win at 2 seconds left by 4% I believe so Denti lost to timeout.
Afterwards he let the salt get to him as he bad mouthed how IF IT WAS A NATIONAL HE WOULD'VE WON, or how our region isn't real his LM isn't even good etc.

Just woke up so Imma see what else has been said in both that FB comment (cause it was 130+ comments from when it was posted 4 hours prior around 12 my time, 6 now) and I made a couple posts in the results thread too.
