I've posted my top 3 singers like twice before but idc so here it is again:

1. Sia
2. Ingrid Michaelson
3. Imogen Heap

All are flawless and amazing and actually write their own stuff (unlike people like Katy Perry). Sia is a literal goddess, too.

____

@ Lavani Lavani Are we the same person because we play almost the same characters. I basically main Rosalina, picked up Greninja recently, and have been playing MK since release. I also mess around with the puff sometimes, too.

Now it's time for you to pick up Zelda

Edit: @ Macchiato Macchiato haven't you said you're 13 multiple times before? It's not like it makes a difference but still.

Considering you were just getting compliments in the Competitive Impressions thread a moment ago despite not having a good day says to me you're being too hard on yourself. Take a break and cool off, we all have our bad days.
It's kinda weird that I don't really think my Greninja is anything notable, especially considering I have a very predictable playstyle and I play really agressively with a character that probably wasn't meant to be played that way, yet I'm told I have an amazing Greninja a lot.

I don't know if I'm just humble or if people are seeing something I'm not.

But anyway you're probably right. I take this game a bit too seriously sometimes when I really shouldn't. I get frustrated really fast when I get in a losing streak even though I pride myself on being a chill person normally.

I find it weird when people talk about Palutena and don't mention bair. I'd think a 12% aerial that beats literally everything but Thoron with good disjoint, bonus shield damage, and alright landing lag would be rather notable. It's probably my favorite part of the character anyway, being able to challenge things like PK Thunder 2 and winning any trade is an amazing property for an aerial.

Online is booty. Local friendlies/tournaments are still the way to go
welp i'm boned

I love Spritzee so maybe

Elevators are really tempting and I love her dair/Nayru's, so we'll see if anything happens there. I haven't really been feeling Zelda in this game though.

IMO, you should just take a break if you feel like you're in a slump. Or you can practice if you want but imo, taking a break from Smash is much better.

actually some online players are actually pretty good. Also palutena has some pretty good approaches since fair autocancels. She can cancel fair into grab, jab, she can approach well. Zelda I just run in and grab and hope for the best
Um, why are you lecturing me on Palutena? Pretty sure I stopped using her against you because it was so one sided, and proceeded to use chars I never touched before save Charizard.

I'll happily say an online player is good if they prove it in local, like ven.

Don't mean to sound mean but yeah :(

Frou Frou > Her solo stuff

(she's still good though!)
That's probably true. Maddening Shroud is my favorite from Details.
Immi's newest album is really, really good, though.

I think the problem with her solo stuff is that it's so strange that it's very niche. Her Frou Frou work is much more accessible than anything she has done solo.

Don't get me wrong, I am kind of a fan of Katy. However, writing her songs with a team of people is sad and her new stuff is awful. She can sing very well, though, and her first album is very good.

Seriously, if you like pop, check out her album One of the Boys. It's one of my faves ever.

Don't worry yew don't

I totally would do local if there was an actual competitive scene arround me so yeah. Also I'm 15, can't drive yet. Also don't have money for gas, hotel, food

That would be great... IF I HAD A WII U BECAUSE LOCALS WITH THE 3DS ARE NONEXISTENT AS FAR AS I KNOW!
I know that feel bro. It sucks for me personally that I live in Smash No Man's Land even though I'm surrounded by some of the richest talent in the country (NY Tri-State Area.)

Back when I couldn't drive for ****, I had to carpool with other Smashers. Honestly, I had more fun carpooling with Smashers. Driving to the tournament venue with no company is lame

I've heard there's a local friendlies place in my area yet I never bothered going there.

I also completely lack a sense of direction so if I tried to go there alone I would probably end up on Canada by accident. So I'm trying to get my friend who also plays Smash to come with me but then we actually have to find a time for it where we're both free.

We've been trying to go there for two weeks now.

I find that if I'm on a losing streak and I'm too frustrated to adapt/improve, I take a little break. If it doesn't improve after awhile, I'll stop playing for the day, or 'serious matches' anyway. Pushing yourself to keep playing when you're bummed out + playing a character that requires you to constantly be on your toes (as well as the fact that he can't always kill early, and requires patience) are all going to be a mental strain without some kind of a break.

You're fine as a player. If learning to play more defensive or a more passive aggro is what you think you need to apply to your playstyle, start looking for ways you can make use of it, and mix it up. I'm always forced to constantly change my playstyle when fighting good people, especially if they start catching on to what I'm doing. It's part of the beauty of competitive Smash that I both love and hate.

Relatable
I'm 15 also and I've looked up the competitive scene where I live just out of curiosity and while it does seem fairly good (EVO is held where I live after all,) I did find one tournament that banned Little Mac...

OKAY SO WAIT.

If Macchiato is actually 15.

That means he's the same age as S.F.L.R.9

Totally gonna ship that from now on.

I haven't really followed her trajectory. I got I Megaphone a while back and I thought it was good but it lacked cohesiveness, which is imo the strongest point Details had back then. I haven't listened to anything new by her, but with your opinions you've got me interested. I'll search for her discography on iTunes and get back to you later :).

There's apparently a monthly that would be a bit over an hour drive for me, but I have zero self-confidence so I don't think I'll be going to that. There's nobody local to even play friendlies with, so online's kind of all I have.

The real test here is if you like Aromatisse or not.

Tbh, I would drop Zelda if I wasn't so attached to the character. I can't see her going anywhere, but I still love her to death. It breaks my heart to see her as gutted as she is :(

Also, I remember you mentioning that one of Tuna's palette swaps has a teal shield, so I've spent multiple hours of my life trying to figure out which one you meant because I can't find it.

I just wish the alt I use (purple) had a cooler color shield than pink. The Medusa dress is beautiful, though, so I use that one (and the black one) sometimes, too.

I'm also 15 (my birthday is the 27th!) but I don't like telling people my age online because I feel that they'll treat me differently when they know how young I am.

I'm glad I can get you to look into her music!

My opinions on her stuff:
iMegaphone is really bizarre and I didn't like it all but it grew on me. It's a good album overall, imo.

Speak For Yourself is amazing. Every song on it is unique and deserves to be there. A fantastic album.

Ellipse is very well made (she won a Grammy for it iirc) but I dislike most of the songs on it, so it's my least favorite album of hers.

Sparks is probably her best album. All the songs are great on it and it's very deep. Check out the song "Entanglement" on it.

My dad is surprisingly supportive of me doing stuff such as going to places to practice and take part in tournaments. Helps that he's a gamer too. Hell, he even bought me a capture card just so I could record things and do streams.

Now I only need to learn how to speak English without forgetting words every sentence I try to say so I can actually record some commentary.

I have a shiny 5IV Aromatisse if that tells you anything. I like Spritzee more though.

I could definitely relate, the Zelda series not having as much significance to me in recent years is probably the only reason I'm not desperately trying to cling to her myself...well, that and she feels clunkier to play than the characters I actually main.

The Viridi (red) palette has that shield. I wish it was on the light blue palette though, I dislike red but that palette has the red shield and the Viridi palette has the red dress so I can't have the best of both worlds with her. ;_;

Okay I just listened to Entanglement and it's pretty good. Reminiscent of Details, definitely :). I'll look for the rest of her music, thanks a lot for the recommendation!

On that note, here's my part of the musical trade. Hope you haven't heard Moloko before.

Edit: I change the video because the original I had posted had sh*t audio quality.
