As an aside, I learned from this little venture that Luma's utilt sweetspot can only hit grounded opponents.

Guess we both learned something today!
The more you know :D

Anyway, I feel bad for relegating hyper arts into Hyper Smash hype. There's probably something that makes it more than that
Lol there goes my short-lived career at trying to understand how the **** they programmed this game
You mean how they programmed Diddy?

Isn't this how Mega Man's Mega Upper works or is because it has two hitboxes like Dr. Mario's Super Jump Punch.

Mega Upper just has its sweetspot on frame 6, sourspot 1 on 7-9f, and sourspot 2 on 10-16f.

Doesn't Hyper Buster do like 409012% with a jab?

Deals 20% damage if all hits connect. F-tilt deals 21% damage. B-air deals 20% damage. B-throw deals 20% damage. F-smash deals 31% damage. U-smash deals 29% damage

I guess hyper buster is not that bad

What about nair and fair? Those are like Shulk's "spammiest" moves if I recall correctly.

Also, I'm pretty sure Hyper Speed and Hyper Jump make you unreachable...

11% at base. 13% damage tipped.

F-air does 10% damage tipped and 12% damage at the base

@ Macchiato Macchiato I just realized I didn't play as Robin at all... do you have any thoughts about the WFT vs Robin MU?
She's floaty enough to escape arcffire and since she/he jumps a lot, it'll be hard for robin to hit the thunders. Also wii fit can out camp her due to wii fits fast mobility. They have the same kill power. Imo it's 55-45 wii fit

Back to art!
It's okay, I will teach you!

This is here for when you need it:

The sweetspot of Luma's utilt has tremendous base knockback, but poor knockback growth; its knockback is high starting immediately at 0%, but it doesn't increase much with your opponent's damage. Hyper Smash Shulk takes a substantial amount of knockback, and starting straight from 0% Luma's utilt has a lot of knockback, so it results in much earlier KOs than its knockback growth would suggest.

A diagram to illustrate the point:

Also, I'm pretty sure Hyper Speed and Hyper Jump make you unreachable...
It's probably just because I don't invest time into the character, but hyper speed/jump didn't feel like they did anything crazy for the character compared to the default arts, considering the time limit.

Hyper speed basically makes zone breaking really easy. Hyper jump is basically jump art except with the better off-stage/recovery options. It's just too risky to use at neutral now. All the arts can't be used like default arts. Hyper arts is practically really different. It's as if this epitomizes, "When you need it, use it"

You underestimate me a little bit too much for thinking my head would explode with such a simple explanation U_U.

Tbh I just didn't know how Luma's u-tilt worked, as in, I've never got hit by it, ever, haha. It makes sense that the huge base KB would make the difference between Jiggs and Shulk, though. It just seemed like the weight difference between them wasn't THAT big numerically, but I guess just one digit is a big deal when determining knockback.

Also, I don't think I have the Hyper Arts yet, so I can't test myself, but I'll see if I can gauge the changes on Speed and Jump if I have time later.

Btw, do you know how many unique customs are there in total? I'm calculating there's 8 per character so I'm guessing there are 380-400 ish to unlock.

Which means I just have another 330 to go.

Yay -_-

In my defense I was expecting to type a lot more than I ended up typing, and then forgot I put that at the top lol

And I got super excited when the game told me I had already unlocked 50 :'D. F*ck this ****.

I tried running Classic a bunch of times today but the Master Cloudofwhateverthe**** kept killing me. It's an overwhelmingly annoying mode now.

You know what's amazing? When you're grabbed by Crazy hand, and you're stunned for a while THEN Master Hand throws out those stupid orange cards of doom which send you up while YOU'RE STILL STUNNED

So I just checked the last finished Conquest.

Greninja actually won against Sheik, though it was 52% against 48%. That's weird because from what I've seen, Sheik is everywhere in For Glory and I barely ever see another Greninja there.

So uh, I was fully expecting Sheik to win that little popularity contest but I guess I was wrong.

I think I've gotten a game over at the Hands fight at least six times now due to this happening immediately after Master Hand does the hand slap>icy wind opening sequence

which pretty much instantly gimps ganondorf among others

You don't see Greninja in FG because either 1. Sheik is easy mode. 2. You'll see scrubs spamming down air and nothing else.
3. Greninja is a tricky character.

also I just saw this on the Pikachu social:

Weird, that's the opposite for me. I see more Greninjas than Sheiks. I think I've fought only 4-6 Sheiks while I've fought like 10-12 Greninjas.

Yeah, I know, that's why I expected Greninja to lose the Conquest since more people play with Sheik due to her being easy, yet he still won so I guess the good Greninja players outnumbered the Sheik scrubs or something like that. I dunno.

I've seen what, 4 Greninja's ever since I started playing on For Glory? Meanwhile sometimes I face 3 Sheiks in a row.

Don't worry, most Sheik players in Scrub Glory are scrubs. When you want to KO them upwards they just want to use DAir and lolsheikdair. Some Greninja players I've faced are decent at best. Most of them are scrubs that spam dash attack and DAir though.

I'm not sure if I've even fought 10 Greninjas total in my time on FG, but I fight at least two Sheiks per session. Definitely in the top 10 characters I fight.

Which would probably look something like
1. :4falcon:
2. :4mario:
3. :4sonic:
4. :4link:
5. :4zss:
6. :4ganondorf:
7. :4sheik:
8. :4yoshi:
9. :4littlemac:
10. :4darkpit:

Macs really dropped off after 1.0.4 from what I've seen. There was a point where he was by far the character I saw the most, but I'm rather certain he wouldn't be any higher than #6 if I had actual numbers of my matches over the last few months.

Captain Falcon and Ganondorf are the new Macs.

:4ganondorf:
:4sheik:
:4link:

Those are the five characters I see the most often in For Glory.
Just think, if Sheik still had her old downB then Hyrule Tier would be in your top 5 most seen FG characters.

I see these guys: Greninja, Ganondorf, Shulk, Ike, the Pits, Kirby, Jigglypuff, Yoshi, Sonic, Palutena, Lucario, Mr. Game & Watch, ZSS, Mega Man, Marth, Lucina, Bowser, and Duck Hunt more than Rosalina, Sheik, and Diddy. Add in the hodgepodge of Captain Falcon, Link, Little Mac, Toon Link, Mario, and Luigi - I just noticed they're all wearing either red or green, well, a red helmet in the Capt.'s case - and you've got the characters I see more than Rosalina, Sheik, and Diddy. Hell, I think I've seen more of Meta Knight, Dr. Mario, Charizard, Zelda, and Falco than those 4.

I've met like 4-5 Meta Knights and only one of them was amazing. This dude pulled off the Uairs to Shuttle Loop combo and would not give me a break. I've only fought one good Little Mac and that was near the game's release, two good Pikachus, and one good Peach. This leaves an issue where I don't know how to fight Rosalina, Sheik, and Diddy because I rarely see them. Same goes with Bowser Jr., Robin, DK, Peach, Wii Fit Trainer, Pac-Man, Wario, the Villager, Samus, ROB, and the Mii Fighters for obvious reasons.

Pikachu players in FG are very sluggish. The disrespect is there. For me, I don't know.

I still haven't found a secondary. Any suggestions?
