This is the worst I have played in a very very long time.... Probably since the concussion. I don't know what has gotten into me today.
I am downright terrible today
I fell into baits
I didn't bait at all
Didn't punish correctly

I was completely predictable to a tee
I put in wrong inputs for some weird reason.
I had 0 mind games
Sigh.... I think today was just not my day

Good games, @ Lozjam . Ganondorf is pretty crazy with customs. I need to stop now before I get burnt out, those were some fun matches. I wish I had remembered to save more than just two replays though.

Ganondorf's recovery is pretty great with customs, wow.

I don't think you played badly really, I mean, it was certainly not easy to beat you. Sorry for the lag though.

Ike customs best customs

Real talk though, a lot of people underestimate what's being given up when they call certain customs ridiculous. Timber Counter may create what's basically an immobile banana, but Villager also loses her air usable, ~100% KOing, frame 6 axe for it; Kong Cyclone's super armor doesn't start until frame 20 and it has 30 frames in the middle with no hitbox, making it a worse grounded/OoS option than the default upB; Luma Warp allows for quick punishes and potential combos at a specific distance but no longer covers the in-between; Wizard Dropkick has a non-trivial damage drop and also strips Ganon's downB of its kill power.

Not saying that these aren't great customs or that they shouldn't be favored over the defaults, but it's extremely rare that even the good customs are straight upgrades.


Pit's at least got some decent sidegrades, no? The more aimable arrows and both orbitar customs seemed good to me. Nothing gamechanging, but nothing bad either.

Nothing like MK's shuttle loop that strips the first hit and slows the animation down so much that the second hit doesn't come out until frame 39...and without anything to compensate the fact that the attack does less damage and is that much slower now to boot.

Honestly, Wizard Dropkick's reduced damage and kill power doesn't really matter when he has a better horizontal recovery in its place. Plus, Ganon has other ways to kill as well, so its aight

The fact that default aerial WF can kill at like 80% when you're being juggled is pretty scary, and without that there isn't anything to give his opponents The Fear™ when they're below him.

I still like Dropkick more for the recovery, jumping projectiles, and a consistent ledge cancel distance, but my opinion on Ganondorf doesn't mean much.

I definitely felt like I was safer when juggling Ganondorf with Dropkick, though the fact that Dropkick made Ganondorf go over my shurikens and hit me was pretty annoying to deal with.

Exploding Attack is pretty fun to use as an edgeguarding tool, though you can't go too deep with it or you'll die. Shifting Shuriken is great, but I really miss the speed of regular shurikens.

It depends on the matchup, really. In some MUs you'll want Dark Vault, and in some others you'll want Dark Fists.

the disjoint on the second hit makes me afraid to edgeguard him too

Vault's recovery boost is nice but I don't think it's substantial enough to warrant giving up Fist's power, unless you want the extra recovery for edgeguarding purposes.

Um...haven't really messed with it at all, but I think it's his worst downB because I never hear anything about it and it's excluded from all the sets in AA's project. Its startup is pretty bad idk

Also, I just found out that Bowser had Koopa Klaw in Melee, but starting with Brawl, his Side Special became Flying Slam and Koopa Klaw is a custom in SSB4 that doesn't grab.

The only custom I've heard of being banned at this point is Olimar's Order Tackle in doubles.

Dash Slam/Dash Slash are Bowser's only good customs, both for the "waveslashing" and as an anti-juggle a la Monkey Flip/Bouncing Fish, which in itself helps Bowser out a ton. Dash Slash is the better of the two, as Dash Slam's grabbox is pathetic and Bowsercide is an excuse for your opponent to get you killed for free.

You obviously are with the wrong people! Ahh.... I remember my prom, spent time with my special one, danced a little, ate some really good food(the calamari was great! It was like the 3rd time I had, but boy it was really good), and then we went home, slept, and the next day, we had our after party with our close friends at the glorious six flags. Everything was like perfect!
Some tips
Don't have sex, your "partner" will get pregnant because the universe has a sense of humor(or better yet, stay a virgin, like me)
Don't take any drugs
Always get your drink yourself, or with a close friend. Someone can spike your drink.
Have fun!

I'm starting to think that Usmash isn't that bad. Maybe because we compare it to brawl Usmash too much. It's still better than diddys usmash

Really? Thats my 2nd most used killing move. It's not that bad imo

late reply but i have to say, while i still use Usmash often to kill because i know when i hit at X percent there is no "maybe" they'll die they WILL die its still horrible. not Melee horrible but when your Usmash range gets shortened to barely reaching outside of Zelda's dress ends and kills reliably 40% later while still containing all the lag from before....its bad. i guess having only a 10% chance of people falling out is nice but it would be nice if we could still play like we were Fox and Usmash people at 90%

Don't have a partner and not too worried about getting anyone pregnant. I'm pretty well in control of my drinking (plus I don't think anyone would spike my drink specifically), anyways it's everyone else that needs to be worried about not me lol.
