Normal and I used about 10, but the highest damaging one was between 30,000 and 40,000.
even with 10 of them it becomes way easier, the large bosses with out helper or grinding are super dumb on just normal mode for some reason. Then the later half of the game is a sleeper fest involving finding the most broken ability and a lot of rinse repeat.

With a good story I prob would have enjoyed the game and gotten past how poorly the combat was handled

Phase Locket oh man I liked the idea behind it when it comes to the platforming but they should've made bosses still be able to hit through it so you can't just cheese them.

The boss battles in the game are really fun (except Polar Knight for me), especially Plague Knight's battle, but the locket is just so OP lol

FYI the reason Ryu wins (or at worst barely loses) against characters that can normally space him out is because his reward is absurd and probably some of the best reward and damage per hit in the game. It is arguably comparable to Ganon (maybe not quite that good but I think sometimes it's even BETTER) except Ryu has a neutral and can convert off of Frame 2 moves to kill you immediately and is also heavy.

Ryu is probably the pinnacle of how a heavy in Smash Bros can ACTUALLY work and be top level because rather than focusing on solely a ridiculous punish game, he has a ridiculous punish game but a solid neutral, good movement, and he shifts momentum VERY easily. Your % lead against Ryu isn't going to matter for long because he usually hits you 2-3 times and that lead is gone. Ryu was thought to be "easy to camp" until in practice camping him got hard because one mistake led to the camping person effectively losing their % lead because of Ryu's high damage and range, or even getting killed if they were at feasible %s and Ryu had Rage.

He's the premier heavy of this game IMO. No reason to NOT use Ryu if you like playing heavy characters, he's basically an upgraded version of them with a more competent toolkit. I think perhaps the biggest thing Ryu has as a heavy compared to other heavies is probably his frame data though. Hell, I think if any heavy character in our roster right now had the frame data of someone like Ryu, they'd be MILES better even without True Shoryuken and Ryu's kit as a whole. It really does do a lot.
except Ryu lacks the terrible mobility of a heavy which is probably the leading factor to Heavy's lack of viability

I don't really think terrible mobility on its own creates a bad character in this game. The problem is we ALWAYS see it paired with bad frame data/other significant flaws.

Dr. Mario is perhaps an exception but his mobility isn't heavy tier bad. But we've legitimately never seen a heavy with poor movement but amazing LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE so I tend to gloss over it. It's certainly important but I think everything else Ryu has easily trumps it. His mobility is just the icing on the cake.

I think it's worth thinking about. Also consider that Ryu has worse mobility than DK overall, as well.

tangentially unrelated but this is generally what defines a heavy (i think):
poor frame data (which i think is stupid)
poor mobility
large body and thus large hitboxes when they attack
High DPH
High knockabck

Technically related to Ryu but i just wanted an excuse to list the qualities of a heavy

Ryu's more of a glass cannon type character. ...Except without the glass part.

My only issue is that DK coincidentally has (arguably perhaps) poor frame data (I'd say it's more mediocre than poor), but DK's mobility for a heavy is actually incredibly commendable. He boasts running speed higher than Mario and a max airspeed equal to Mario's (he only loses out in air acceleration). Really he only has large hitboxes and (relatively) poor frame data but it's not really BAD frame data.

I think you only listed the qualities of POOR heavies =P. DK's biggest problem I think was a slight inability to close stocks easily which was MORE than fixed (although his big hitbox size and big guy nature still don't help him a ton). If Ryu wasn't in the game, DK would be this game's premier heavy IMO.

Shoutouts to Ike for being right there with DK playing second bananas to Ryu for premier Smash 4 heavy. Talk about buffs. It's not just in his muscles anymore~

Speaking of shoutouts...
Shoutouts to Flavius Flavius for old time sake.

Isn't it nice to get shout outs again? :secretkpop:

Also for anyone who cares I decided to pick up Project M and I exclusively main Zelda in it. :estatic:

All of you should be able to guess what costume I use.
I am interested in PM but Nintendo's attempt to gut it competitively and hunt it down like a triple-threat criminal makes it feel pointless to me ; = ;

More human practice, and wanted to draw some military dudes. Wonder if anyone'll recognize the franchise... (No, it's not Call of Duty)

Good choice. Zelda is awesome in PM.

And I'm guessing the OoT/Melee skin! it's the best one, yo. :zeldamelee:

Also I'm hosting a low-tier tourney for Smash 4 on a message board I go to. I'm planning to use Dedede most of the time, then if I get into Grand Finals I'm gonna pull out :4zelda: on livestream. :^)

legit question for you all tho

How does one play Zelda in Melee? I might use her as a situational pocket. (please don't say "press down-B")

crouch cancel dsmash, Lcancel light kicks, situational uair.
Pretty much Zelda's entire move set. Fsmash can be SDI'ed, along with usmash, Nair SDIs itself, if you can land a grab you deserve a cookie, Dair is weak as it is laggy, Utilt is slow, Dtilt and jab have almost zero hitstun, Din's is still dins, Nayru's is super easy to bait and farore's is super laggy to an extent where you use airdodge to recover if you can

you can try to space out Fsmash so they run into the final hit, but that already is an awkward option

ya he pretty much is the melee zelda to watch

I just had a major discussion with my parents at the dinner table tonight. I told them my interest in enlisting in the (U.S.) Navy, and, to my surprise, they reacted positively.

I guess you could say I was authorized.

It truly is great, though. I've got a long ways to go, but what I'm aiming for now.

1.) Get used to losing
2.) Get used to losing a lot
3.) Get used to crying A LOT
4.) Zelda not moving = Dead Zelda
5.) Try not to approach because she can't do much
6.) Lose
**Down-B = required in the Shiek, Zelda MU. That MU is literally the devil .Like I'd rather be a Rosalinda than play that MU

N-air has its uses. It puts insane shield pressure on opponents above you, it can shield stab, and you can cross up shields with it. It is hard to follow up on because the hits don't really auto-link meaning that they can fly out of it at any time. You can also do some mixups with it by full-hop n-air into b-air/f-air
Up-air is not worth using imo lol Takes 14 frames to come out, hitbox lasts for like 2-3 frames, does decent damage and knockback, and takes forever to end.
D-air is also pretty bad lol ONLY use to hit a Fox or Falco in firefox/bird at or over 100% for maximum disrespect.
D-tilt is pretty good imo When the opponent starts getting knocked into tumble, it combo's into D-smash to set-up an edgeguard situation. It also hits below the stage, meaning that you can Shield stab most characters shielding onstage which can combo into U-tilt which is a floaty KILLER. (Careful with Jiggs though, her shield is huge so it won't shieldstab most of the time). It also destroys recoveries like Falcon's and Ganon's! Did I also mention it has a meteor hitbox?
Jab. I'm not sure how I feel about this move. I like to think that F-tilt is a better option overall. Jab has slightly more range, and is 10 frames faster (assuming you abuse the IASA frames), but it lacks combo/ follow up/ kill potential
Her grab is great!! IF YOU CAN GRAB SOMEONE. Shield grabbing is usually not worth it lol A falco hit my shield with a D-air and was able to grab me out of MY shield grab. If you're good at conditioning, then you should have no problem with that though. You can get some very cool conversions off of a grab.
Din's fire
upload_2015-11-17_22-35-2.jpeg
But for reals, if it hits, you can combo a LK from it. IF IT HITS (it won't btw)
I only really use Naryu's to cheese recoveries lol
