Yeah, a ton. , , , , , , /, , , , , (despite the talk about this MU, the only really annoying thing is Chef and up air juggles) and the /(if we're talking 1111s).

He goes even with and and arguably does alright against .

Oh wow, wasn't expecting this! I'd love for Zelda to get an article with how overlooked she is.

I think Nairo, Ven, and Cosmo or Ed are good choices. They each have a different style, which as we (zelda mains) know, can greatly affect your outlook on Zelda. (Not tagging since they've been tagged like 5 times already lol)

Nairo for aggressive, Cosmo or Ed for a more defensive style, and Ven for all around.

Or if we're using SB regulars only (or if the others decline the interview) then I'd recommend SBphiloz4 , @evmaxy54 , and @BJN39 .

Oh, and Nairo streams most weekdays in the evenings, so you could probably contact him there. He also has a Discord and Skype.

Easily . Outspeeds Link hard, can combo him easily and Link can barely get any hits on the little blue buzzard. Trust me from experience. ;-;

Oh yeah, those two are a b**** of a MU. Though back in Brawl one of my friends mained Fox so I guess I'm sorta use to the rush down MU.

I'm also a Brawl Fox main. He still feels a million times more satisfying to use in that game compared to Smash 4. Autocanceled lasers and shine spikes for life.

Link has a handful of MU's in his favor. A couple in my opinion are:

But I have even more problems with Cia than the others.

My problem is some of the female characters are given cutesy demeanors and facial expressions that don't fit being on a battlefield, and they seem out of place. The worst example is Lana.

I always thought that the idea was exactly for Lana to look out of place considering she's not even supposed to be around. She was supposed to be watching Hyrule across dimensions/time/whatever so she looking out of place makes perfect sense

She's also supposed to be Cia's good side, so she's basically Cia's happy/kind/carefree side, it makes perfect sense for her to act the way she does.

I feel like vs. Mac is in Mac's favor, mostly because his ground game is infinitely better than Link's. Once Mac knows how to get past Link's zoning, Link can't do much. I do agree with Robin, Lucas, Mega Man and Samus tho.

I still play Brawl online and there's an ungodly amount of Links on there, I guess I'll start using Falco against those people since I'm absolutely friggin' exasperated of fighting Links and sandbagging Zeldas.

If that was the point, it's not a good one.

The fact that the "evil" or "misguided" side (Cia) is jealous (about Link, no less) and wears incredibly revealing clothing, while the "good" / "better" half is cute and innocent is a problem in and of itself. It plays right into stereotypes about women's manner of dress and perceived promiscuity vs purity.

True, but you have to consider the fact that Link can gimp Mac fairly easy with his aerials and projectiles. One boomerang to the face offstage can easily end a stock like nobodies business.

Arrow sniping is the best thing. Especially when you're doing it from a far distance on somebody with a poor recovery or having a huge frame like or . They're literally helpless.

Toon Link easily beats Link due to better throws, movement speed, and many other factors.
I want to put my opinion on this Link advantage discussion (like how Link really doesn't beat Doc and Falco), but I don't know Link as good as I should, so I'll stay in my corner.

I've fought plenty of Toon Link's in Brawl and Smash 4. In my honest opinion it's an even MU but i'll be generous and say it's slightly in Toon Link's favor considering he's easier to play than Link.

Though it was a really "touchy" subject back in Brawl so I'd rather not get too into it.

I feel you. Being a Brawl Link was a tough life, I hear. Slow as hell and had one of the worst recoveries in the game, while Tink was the complete opposite.

I've been seeing a disturbing amount of Zeldas on FG lately and I don't know where they're all coming from.

Well I think it has something to do with @Jtails, a top 20 player. He recently put up a competitive overview of Zelda and a For Glory run with her on youtube.

They're trying to be low-tier heroes. Like every Melee and Brawl Zelda main.

tbh I don't care about being a low-tier hero. There's just something about being so bad that I love playing as her. It also helps that I placed 4th in a local tourney with her :^)

Since @Cosmo! is being tagged like a million times now, I might as well ask. Is there some super secret Zelda strat that I need to know about? Like an effective way to land or something?

Someone at my local during my first few appearances commented that Zelda mains only play to be 'special snowflakes' and 'want default respect' for 'maining trash.'

I meekly said that I just always liked Zelda and when I was a wee lad I always wanted to play as her and thought playing as the princesses you were always saving was really cool.

The poor kid had no idea anyone there actual mained Zelda (since I was new after all) and nearly broke his neck stuttering trying to apologize.

Gotta send your enemies on tilt before you even fight 'em

What is Zelda supposed to do against him?

Zelda has a huge advantage over most in the MU because pretty much everything we do is multihit, so focus punch is trash pretty useless.

Ryu is one of my favorite high(?) tier MUs. He's very easily juggled and outside of shifting momentum with Focus punch, VERY predictable. Ryu basically spends the entire match fishing for dtilt/jab juggles and the SHOAR U KIN.

He also has awful grabs with few follow ups (similar to Lmac, most Ryus almost never try to grab unless you are shield camping to the next dimension) so you know if he's coming at you it's going to be an attack.

Spacing with brev phantoms is super effective against Ryu.

And the juggling. He's one of the few people that we can get a free 50% off on at the initial stock. Dtilt/dtilt/jab/grab/dthrow then either nair or utilt spam if he's going to airdodge.

We also have MAASSSIIIVEE range over him. Jab, fsmash, nair, phantom, dash attack, pretty much everything we do will beat out Ryu's attacks.

MU is definitely reliant on spacing at higher levels, but we do have an advantage in that department.

Also if we reflect HAH DOH KEN he can't really punish us (unless it's point blank. which. why?), and it takes away a mix up/damage follow up option from him.

Zelda was the first character I ever picked on the CSS screen back in Brawl. I had just finished TP and was amazed that you could be Zelda, lol (I was like 9 ok). So that's my connection. Also, no other characters have a moveset that has all the tools I like to have, as weird as that sounds.

Re Zelda vs Link
To me, this MU is even. On one hand, Link zones us pretty bad, and generally has more range than we do (but I think Zelda is better in the startup lag department). On the other hand, I feel Zelda can handle the projectiles just fine with a combination of Nayru's, Phantom (LOTS of Phantoms), Farore's, and even Din's. She can also harass him offstage pretty well. But Link can also do the same to us by Dairing near the ledge. I would say that Link is also fairly easy to combo, but he won't die that early since he's kinda heavy. I still find this MU annoying though since it always goes slowly.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't see either character really beating the other outright.

tbh I was just browsing some of the older pages like when @Reserved and @Berserker. talked about 6 things about @Lavani . I thought that you never come here anymore, so I just liked it for the heck of it lol
