I know that. But that's a mixed bag of changes and I've seen Falcos claim both nerf and buff.
When your metagame basically changed, there will be a mixed bag. Some people liked that Uair was a slow, powerful juggle, some liked the sour-spot on Uair allowing for hit confirms into Bair, some liked Dair spiking on the ground so they could frame cancel lock with it, and some might even liked that you could have people fall out of Nair.
Of all the characters in Smash, Falco's gone through the most gameplay changes and it might even continue. From Melee to Brawl to 1.0.0 Smash 4 to patch 1.0.8 Smash 4. Aside from Dr. Mario having his Up Smash's launch angle altered, Charizard swapping kill throws with U-throw and B-throw, and Marth and Lucina having their jabs function differently, most characters just got buffs or nerfs. Sheik's Bair not killing? That's not a game plan change; that's a nerf. It doesn't function differently; it's just weaker. Ike's jab 1 to jab 2 is faster? He can jab cancel faster, that's all. Meta Knight's hitboxes being fixed? He functions more properly now.
For DLC characters, noticed how Nintendo didn't involve Wolf at all with the Star Fox Zero presentation? Pigma was there in his updated, fat glory. Team Star Fox were all updated with Smash-influenced elements like scouters, Reflectors, Blasters, and such along with being based on 64 with Commmand's head structures for Fox and Falco - Falco has his Assault-onwards slicked back "hair". Before E3, the intention was to show off Smash 4 and surprise us with Roy and Ryu. Roy was updated and based on Binding Blade and Awakening while Ryu's Ryu, but apparently more like Street Fighter V Ryu. Wolf? Star Fox Zero was said to have looked back and used Star Fox 2's concepts. It's not a sequel, prequel, or even a remake or reboot. At the same time, the Star Fox crew's designs are based on 64, Command, and Smash. Brawl Wolf's design was based on Assault and Star Fox 2. If Wolf comes back, he might not look like Brawl Wolf. Hell, he might not even fight like Brawl Wolf since 64 Wolf was a bit more dapper. Expect a Little Mac clone who actually has an air game - British boxing Wolf.
