Considering he has a tether he's going to get that for free if the opponent's eject angle is right/his double jump doesn't **** him over
Getting a spike for free like that sounds like a huge buff, even at low %s it would kill a lot of characters.

Which reminds me I need to do ledge trump -> B-Air more often with Greninja.

This is an opinion so take it with a grain of salt:
Notice how many nintendo games feel like downgrades of their predecessors? For example:
Mario 3D World is a less spectacular Mario Galaxy, Metroid Other M is a cheapened Prime, Paper Mario Sticker Star feels like a worse Thousand Year Door, SS is like Twilight Princess but without dynamic lighting and day/night cycles.
Some series did step it up like DK Country and Mario Kart 8, which is what the next 3D Mario platformer should have looked like. I'm hoping Nintendo steps it up in the future.

Speaking of. GameXplain did a video on Paper Mario and what it would be like on Wii U. I'd love to have one that goes back to the TTYD mechanics: Party members with HP, levelling up, badges, an awesome story, etc. Sticker Star was just... awful.

We do not plan on talking specifics about the the NX until 2016.

Presently, we cannot talk about the time period when it [the NX] will go on sale or what it’s like, because we are calling it a ‘new concept,’ we are not thinking of this as a ‘simple replacement’ for the 3DS or the Wii U.
WELL, at least I know they'll talk about specifications next year. Good.

Goddamn it.

I need to figure out how to renege on an internship offer in place of another without permanently impacting my future career options, and it's killing me.

This is stupid, I'm a fantastic communicator, but this is just insane.

3D World is a sequel to 3D Land (which most people often forget because it's immediately compared to Galaxy and not the game in which it is a DIRECT FOLLOW UP TO), and as far as 3D World goes compared to 3D Land, it's a pretty disgusting blowout in favor of the WiiU game, so no that "pattern" does not apply to Mario games @ Rizen Rizen .

Also a few pages back people were talking about picking up old games, well I did just that. Good old Battle Arena Toshinden 3. Sho is soooooooooooooooooooooo stupid. We're talking best movement speed in the game, best combos, a DP that makes him invisible and homes in on people + can be delayed.....he's stupid. Will always main Kayin and Ten Count though, that's life right there.

Just got what I think was my first Timber axe shieldbreak. It was against a Shulk (sorry berserker.). He had shielded the tree growth and a few other things so his shield was a little low on health. In I come from the air and he shielded, probably expecting a NAir. Instead I whip out my 20 shield damage axe and shatter Monado Boy's shield, earning him a bowling ball to the face. Not really sure why holding a bowling ball for longer makes it do more damage but HEY.
Sounds like something I would do tbh

Once I got shieldbroken by like 3 Bowser Bombs in one match >_>

Also why does everyone hate Reuniclus ;-;

Yeah but it's also a disappointing Wii U 3D Mario game when the Wii had Mario galaxy 1 and 2. 3D land was fine for the 3DS but the concept is lacking for the Wii U and its capabilities.

Ehhh, the way I understood it, Mario 3D World was attempting to be a 3D Mario game, but lean towards the traditional Mario games(Get to the checkpoint in a certain time). Whereas Mario Galaxy was aiming to be more like the traditional 3D Mario Games(Get the Star at the end with usually no time limit).

Other M I think was the same thing; an attempt to take the 2D classic Metroid games and give it the 3D treatment. Sure, they added the FPS aspect that was prevalent in Prime. But due to the fact that you can't walk around while looking through Samus' eyes, it's pretty safe to assume they weren't trying to make it like the Prime games and more of a way to be able to scan your environment and the areas you could blast open.

The lack of dynamic night/day cycle in SS was definitely a downer for me. I don't know why they decided not to put that into Skyward.

I still need to finish one old game that I adore being Grandia. So close to beating it about a third time or maybe fourth time. And I definitely need to finish Superstar Saga.
(If I wasn't doing something stupid like getting Luigi to Lv. 99 during the time Mario fell sick. D:

I prefer it to both galaxies honestly. It's a 2D Mario game but in 3D, and 2D Marios are my preference (at least the old ones) so I didn't find it "disappointing" at all, realistically. While I love the huge 3D Mario adventures and what have you, I have always preferred the (much better) pacing of the 2D Mario games. Combine that with the excellence of 3D controls and I feel perfectly 100% catered to. Some people don't but like, I think as far as sequels go (compared to the really bland 3D Land), it's far from disappointing. Perhaps "not what you expected" is a better way to put it? It's like what if NSMB wasn't (unfortunately) getting old, so they just jammed a bunch of ideas together and tried to coherently make a game of it (Cat suit, cherry, etc.) Basically it's SMB3 but 3DDDDDDD

I don't think people understand what I meant. The technology, memory, etc involved in making big enviorments like Metroid Prime and Mario Galaxy exceeds the requirements of smaller level by level "hallway" areas seen in 3D world and Other M.

I do too man. Although I don't know if they pushed the WiiU to its limit, I think they took Mario through a really creative, really enjoyable romp through a lot of very unique levels, areas, and designs. Technologically speaking it's likely nothing impressive but as a Mario game it stands out sooooo much.

It's my favorite next to SMB3. #unpopularopinion

People seem to do this.

Pokémon DP > New games
Mario Party 3 > New games
PMD RRT/BRT / PMD EoT/D/S > Gates to Infinity
Mario Kart Wii > Mario Kart 8 :troll:
Amazing Mirror > Triple Deluxe

I like 3D World simply for its multiplayer aspect. As a singleplayer game I'm not sure how well it holds up to Galaxy (I've only played 3D World with other people)
Pokémon DP > New games
Mario Party 3 > New games
PMD RRT/BRT / PMD EoT/D/S > Gates to Infinity
Amazing Mirror > Triple Deluxe
To be fair they are correct

Not here. I seem to be the only one in favor of big explorable worlds. :ohwell:
I'm not against them, but changing things up is the best way to make said formula not stale. I mean, we have TWO Galaxy games AND Mario 64 (plus a DS remake), gotta give me a break here, I only have so much free time as a Uni student LOL.

Look you're not alone, I'd like to see it too! But I think they tried something different with 3D Land and 3D World and it worked out so I commend the decision.

Also I liked Triple Deluxe a lot too, actually! Dedede's Drum Dash Z is the best rhythm game I have played in ages.

Funnily enough. My very first Mario game was Super Mario Land 2 on the Gameboy. Back then, I thought it was the hardest game ever. I could never beat the Moon level when I was a kid. But now looking back at it... It's a piece of cake!

I always liked Mario Kart DS alot. Maybe because of how broken and OP snaking was when using Dry Bones' vehicles?
And strangely enough. I kinda prefer X/Y over ORAS, even though ORAS does provide us with Move Tutors and an easier way to farm breeding. :3

Are you sure? Because if we talk about Pokémon, everyone will argue about their favorite gen or something. The rest don't really matter, so yeah.
The main series Pokemon is subjective.

Everything else, however, seems to be popular opinion and not many people argue with those claims

3D World was more creative with its level design and it has a fun multiplayer aspect to it as well as some fun power ups. Galaxy's levels overall were big but pretty uninteresting overall. So I vastly prefer 3D World's better gameplay

The old handheld Mario Tennis games are way better than the 3DS game. And I was really looking forward to that one too. =/

I'm the opposite, lol. I felt like 3D world was simple and kind of mediocre, although still a good game. Galaxies were very fun and pushed Mario to his limits.

All y'all with your weird opinions but I have the weirdest.

I like Castlevania Dracula X on the SNES almost as much as Rondo of Blood (WHOAAA BOMB DROPPEDDDDD) only cause that SNES music and the underwater ruins stage <3333

Comparing Mario 3D World to Mario Galaxy is not super wise, imo. I mean, yeah, they're in the same franchise, but they have completely different target goals in mind. Whereas Galaxy was a Mario adventure similar to what Mario 64 had to offer, with 3D World they tried to tackle the multiplayer aspect of NSMB Wii and make it a fun, chaotic, multiplayer experience. They are 100% different games save for the fact that they have "Mario" in the title.

I would definitely like a Mario game that followed in the footsteps of Galaxy because I like big 3D worlds to explore, but I don't think 3D World was a downgrade. It was more like a sidegrade, tbh. They're always exploring new things with Nintendo games, and 3D World wasn't the exception with the 3D multiplayer aspect. Plus, the level design in 3DW is flawless. It has some of the best platformer levels Nintendo's ever done.

Oh yeah Gen V is also my favorite PokeGen but I don't mind the current OU metagame.

Inverse battles are also funny as they make what would normally be ****ty (DEFENSIVE Ice types rofl Gamefreak STOPP IT) actually decent.

I guess I've played so much 'traditional' Mario platforming that it doesn't excite me anymore. I'm also not into the party multiplayer aspects of games but can see how 3D World would be better with more than 1 person.

One thing I can say Mario is doing right is the inclusion of the legendary saxophone. ****ing love jazz it suits the series too since its pretty chilled, Bowser having the type of theme tune a boss cat selling fish would do in tom and jerry/top cat.

Bowsers new theme
Bowsers castle MK8
Dolphin shoals (pure pleasure to my ears)

Hope they keep this theme going.

I think I'm the only person in existence who actually liked Sticker Star a little. Sure, compared to past Paper Mario games it was AWFUL, but it was pretty decent if you looked past that. Great usage of the paper aesthetic, and I loved the jazz. It's still my least favorite for the lack of a story, but I can still enjoy it.

Also, I don't even want to LOOK at :4marth: right now. >.>

Gen VI meta is literally **** bro lol. Matchup problems (lol again), Mega Evolutions being obligatory if you want to win, and random suspect tests.

Mario 3d land (world? Iunno, the Wii u one) was literally comfort food for me. Nothing incredibly revolutionary, lots of homages to old games (hidden block placement lol), and good level design.

Nintendo music in general is just miles ahead of everyone else. Pikmin 3, KI: uprising, Mario Galaxies, 3D land, freaking MK8... Lol smashbros.

I've been listening to the mute city/big blue remix for MK8 on repeat today. Musicianship is off the charts. Mario kart 8 music is bliss.
