I feel the same way. Ike was the first non noble Lord in Fire Emblem. He's even far from noble, he's a mercenary even. Hope they do more stuff like that in future Fire Emblem games.

People call Ike a Gary Stue. I don't think so, cause he really does have some negative qualities. He's rather voilent, rash, doesn't think before he speaks and even quite uncaring sometimes.

Now I just played through FE: PoR.

He doesn't think when he speaks but when does he ever exhibit those other qualities?

With Shouzo Kaga on the helm I'm pretty sure that we would've never seen Fire Emblem on SSB. or outside Japan, it seems the games he made after he left Int Sys never saw the light of tomorrow, and I think the second game was actually too complicated.

He won the Lawsuit that's it, if Fire Emblem was a recognized brand in US at the time it would've been another story. Anyways cya in an hour got me some Pharmacology classes, ( I hate that subject with passion :( )

Priam was probably made to show that Ike's lineage continued after his time was over. Every other FE protagonist got a happy ending with a significant other - Marth with Caeda, Alm with Celica, Roy with Lilina, Eirika and Ephraim with *insert a character here*, Seliph with *insert character here* and is himself proof Sigurd's lineage went on, and Micaiah with Sothe - but Ike's Radiant Dawn ending sends him off single, departing to parts unknown with Soren. Priam's existence just helps patch up Ike's legacy so that it matches with the others; hell, you could say that Priam puts Ike above the others and on par with Marth, since we get to use his descendant in another, unrelated game, rather than leave it up to implications like the others.

Pretty much what Sonic Storm said, except for the fact IS decided to mess with Marth in order to set up FE13.

I don't get why people bashing Kaga and say he would not make any original lords.

Kaga only made three lords since he left IS:
Ronan: Brown-haired sword user, an overall very weak lord (weaker than Leaf even).
Holmes: A blond-haired bow user, quite strong.
Reese: A blond-haired sword user (weak lord, though how weak I am not sure).

So that is 1/3 in which the lords are original.

Compare that with since FE6: Only three out of the 10 lords created since FE5 use a primary weapon aside from a sword (Hector, Ephraim, and Micaiah).

Basically the same amount/ratio as Kaga.

On a sidenote, Kaga announced last year that he has retired from making video games, which is strange that he made that announcement only recently considering his last game was released in 2005 (Berwick Saga).

See I really don't care about Kaga that much anyways the only games he made that I enjoy were FE5 and FE2, but the rest not so much, He is the idiot who left Nintendo for the sake of developing for the PlayStation, if he waited a little bit he would've developed for the Game Cube and made the game he wanted to make, and I think Kaga had a hand in the Elibe saga, but Int Sys only changed the character aesthetically, there are too many similarities between Elibe Saga and Akenia saga, maybe "Roy" was supposed to Marth's son and Eliwood was supposed to be Marth and so on, but anyway these are all speculations.

A difference I spotted, was the log foe the game it was much different, especially with the medallion in the corner. The map shown at the beginning of the video wasn't in the game, it seemed your were supposed to recruit a unit in chapter 1. Also my best unit in that game was Jill, what about you?

Ike is always my favorite Unit he is actually the only Main character I had as a favorite unit, you can see other differences such as Ike portrait is different, he has extra armor on his left arm, his map model has holding his sword on his shoulder but he only does that in Radiant Dawn.

Ike was my favorite lord out of all the FE games, most likely because his game brought me into the series. Also, Ike's name was originally going to be Paris, they probably named him this because Paris is the one to kill Aquiles, an Immortal, most likely representing the Black Knight and his blessed armor.

Ike even beats out Hector and Sigurd for me, which is a very rare feat. Think if I had to name my favorite Lord they'd be:

1) Ike
2) Hector
3) Sigurd
4) Ephraim
5) Roy / Marth

My Top Five would be
1) Ike-first FE game I've played, and Ragnell is epic
2) Lucina-I liked her better than Chrom and felt she had a major role in the story.
3) Marth-Start of one of my favorite franchises.
4) Lyn-First US FE lord and is potentially Roy's mother.
5)Roy/Seliph- They avenge their Fathers(or Father's best friend for Roy) in their games

Eliwood didn't die though. But avenging Hector is just as good.

My favorite lords are Leaf, Roy, Eliwood, Ike, Marth, and Celice.

I am curious which FE games are people's favorites.

For me its
1/2. Fire Emblem Thracia 776 (FE5)
1/2. Fire Emblem Fuuin no Tsuirigi/Sword of Seals (FE6)
3/4. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (FE9)
3/4. Fire Emblem Blazing Sword (FE7)
5. Fire Emblem Seisen no Keifu (FE4)

FE4 has nearly all of my favorite characters in the series (Leaf, Fin, Ishtar, Alvis, Cuan, Ethlin, Azel, Celice), and probably my favorite soundtrack and world overall for the series as a whole. However, the gameplay for it is not up to the same level as the previously four mentioned Fire Emblem games.

Aside from the FE4 crew, my other favorite characters for the series are Eliwood, Canas, Roy, Ike, Marth, and Cecilia.

I really can't decide, but I'd guess Path of Radiance is my most favorite game. Mostly all my favorite characters come from the Tellius saga anyway.

Yeah, feel PoR brought a lot of people in to the franchise and I expect Awakening to do more so later on.:ike:

First game I played was FE7. Later FE8, after that either FE9 or FE6, can't remember but replayed both loads. Especially FE9. FE10 I also immensively enjoyed. And don't quite get the critisism it got online only cause of no supports and bad character availability / character development. It's the biggest Fire Emblem yet, and added a lot of awesome content. I quite enjoyed Shadow Dragon to for what it's worth- but am still pissed I never got to play FE12. Earlier this year I also got to play FE4, and while I don't quite agree it's the best FE ever, it's definitely up there.

What I'd like to see is a game as big and huge as both FE4 and FE10, with content evolved from Awakening. Also, Halberdiers definitely must return. Why where they ever cut out of FE13?

I know I wished I could of used them, I felt like we didn't need Berserker as much as Halberdier, If they did put in Halberdier and Soldier to use, it would probably be a promotion to villager, so Donnel can keep his lance. I hope FE14 is a remake of 6, so I can finally play Roy's game, I only know bits and pieces of the story, and some units.

Why not emulate it?

And Berserker is a bit too classic to cut. However, Radiant Dawn did just that... And Largo in FE9 also doesn't really count. He's not as awesome as other Berserkers before him. Though I still kinda like him. Especially in his supports with Mia.

What we need is Berserkers and Halberdiers in the same game. Also, I want Dark Flyers, Dreadfighters, Warmonks and Gryphon Knights to return. Crossbows to.

They tried to use soldier class the same way they used it prior to the tellius series. As an extremely fragile and expendable unit that is still dangerous. I suppose after they made that decision they didn't think you would need a worthless unit like that.
I hope FE15 is a remake of 6, so I can finally play Roy's game, I only know bits and pieces of the story, and some units.
I wouldn't hold my breath for that. Do some searching, there's plenty of ROMs and fan translations of the game. The other option would be learn Japanese and buy the game online.

Also i noticed you said FE15 rather than 14. I'd say its better to refer to awakening as FE13. IS occasionally calls awakening 13 and other times 14. If you ask me BS Fire emblem doesn't count as a full game.

Well, at least a Soldier. Him being a Great Knight suits, as he had a mounted promotion in Sacred Stones as well.
