You get no Sympathy in a "Fire Emblem Discussion"

Being a Lyn supporter, I'll put the arguments I've heard in her support so far:
1. First Western FE lord
2. Assist Trophy in Brawl
3. (Not sure about this one) IntSys probably gives her more importance than Eliwood/Hector, seeing as she was the only one among them to get a DLC redesign.
4. (Argued mainly by KumaOso and ManlySpirit) Interesting moveset potential, as her style of swordplay is completely different from all other FE lords.
5. Female (Just Saying)

I'd dismiss 2 and 5 as something that makes her a good choice for SSB4.

1 I guess that can count. Eliwood is still the main character though
2. Doesn't really say anything about Lyn herself other than she makes a great assist trophy. (kneeling down, a teleport and a slash is a lot easier than fully animated Eliwood or Hector)
3. Can't be certain but it does suggest that. However that only hints that shes more important than Eliwood and Hector, not other lords. (Kouhei Maeda, the main person responsible for the DLC casts shares one of my favorite characters :D)
4. True but shes not the only one with great moveset potential. Hector, Ephraim, Micaiah, and MU all have unique fighting styles.
5. Sakurai clearly didn't care about the game lacking females in Brawl, why would he now. My personal opinion is that gender should be ignored.

1,3,4 certainly help her but its competition that would deny her at this point.

That was my first game in the franchise too. :D I can't tell you how many times I've played it. i absolutely love that game, nostalgia might be a factor but w/e.

Yeah that'd solve some things I feel. Also, this crossover makes just about every Lord character a viable choice for Smash. So I wouldn't be very surprised if we actually got Lyn as a playable character.

There's DLC for fanservice...maybe they had Tellius in their mind at first, but then they scrapped it, and they didn't want to let what they made go to waste so they put it as a final extra map, but for me I really hope it's a hint for the next game.

Same here. I was pretty damn excited when I found out about Priam, then still known as Paris. The fact that he has an unique battle animation also bodes well for him. I really hope to see him in a future Fire Emblem.

Awakening is supposed to be a Fire emblem all-star sort of deal, making allusions to many games while having features like DLC and spotpass characters.

Priam is the game's tribute to the tellius series, nothing more.

Same here. I was pretty damn excited when I found out about Priam, then still known as Paris. The fact that he has an unique battle animation also bodes well for him. I really hope to see him in a future Fire Emblem.

His existence shows how much Int Sys cares for Ike, I think "Maeda" the producer of many Fire Emblem is the guy who came up with him, that's why he thinks so high of him, I bet if the Maeda guy could put Ike as mascot he would've done it already but it seems Marth popularity in Japan is what making him the mascot. it's a good thing that Shouzo Kaga left Nintendo, with him holding the helm on Fire Emblem I doubt Ike would've existed.

Still you can't state that as a fact Ginger, the problem is Priam is quite the enigma, he came from no where, and what made me wonder the most is actually no one asked a question about him, his existance in Fire Emblem Awakening has simply no meaning, and if you say that Fire Emblem Awakening is some sort of All-star game than please answer this question, why did they only make Priam? why not make Roy's descendant ? why not make Ephraim's descendant? if you ask it's peculiar case that only can be answered by the developers themselves....(somewhat I feel that Int Sys made Priam only to clear up that Ike is not homosexual).

You're right, I can't confirm anything. But the developers themselves did state that the project took off when they mentioned it being the culmination of the other games. I'm merely trying to explain that Priam could very likely be just another nod to the other games in the series seeing as that's one of the themes IS was going for in awakening.

So yeah, here's a pic of Vanguard Ike in Brawl. Hopefully he looks something like this in Smash 4 to. And be heavier, and shoot lasers from Ragnell. Also Aether could use a buff.

Idk, The more youthful ike just has a certain like-able trait that the older lacks.

But vanguard Ike makes more since if hes going to be a heavy weight.

I know all that, they actually stated that in an interview that they brought alot of features from old Fire Emblem and such, but still Priam existence remains a mystery, for me I feel Path of Radiance was the first game that the developers felt that they accomplished something, that's why they hold Ike too dear because Ike was different compared to other Lords, some people may call him generic but in fact being generic as a Fire Emblem Lord mean that Ike is unique. for me Ike was the first main character in the series that I felt connection to.
