That Falcon player makes me mad. He needs to start going for fthrow -> late uair at 0% against Ness. He keeps trying for rising uair or fair and almost never followed up. Ness is surprisingly easy to 0-death combo, especially on PuPuPuRandu.

From under a side platform facing inwards at 0% against Ness -

fthrow -> dash SH late uair -> SH fair -> FH uair -> dair

ezpz and does like 85% so it's impossible to survive without good DI, which neither of you guys are really threatening, no offense, I wouldn't be able to do much either.

Why are you guys so afraid of the ledge? You seemingly never try and grab it when the other player is recovering. C'mon Falcon, it's a recovering Ness on DL, what are you so scared of?

Guess I know what to practice now.

Sometimes I become physically sick when I drop combos on ness but it happens all the time. I'm down to 98lbs

EDIT: Just attempted it for like 20 min and only got it one time. It's definitely challenging for me but I'll be really stoked if I land it during a match. Also, it does 71% for me and I get both hits off my fair. If this seems wrong let me know

EDIT2: It just did 78%... I have no idea what I did differently.

I hate being a nub

It looks like it should do ~78%, not sure if this clip of Isai's falcon had any staled aerials.

Uploaded more videos most outside of typical Ness v Falcon

I personally would like to see a video with your Ness against a Kirby or Pika, someone who can challenge you off the edges.

I feel like we've said this before many times but I guess I'll say it again. It's hard to give you tips when your opponents (no offense to JNatty) are playing their match-ups completely wrong. I'm not going to provide a detailed analysis for each game.

If you actually want to get better and not just beat your friends over and over, find people to play with who are better than you. Get online. I'm sure there are lots of people from smashboards who would love to play you.

Christmas is coming up, get that adapter

I'm going to a tournament tomorrow, so that should provide some fresh competition.

For the jiggs v falcon: just a quick thing from me

Jiggs- vary up your recovery, plus, you can try the rising pound. It seems like you make a bee-line for the stage every time you recover. jiggly usually has enough jumps / pounds for at least a few fake-outs. So if you like.. pound, but then go backwards, you might not get hit by falcon's bair.

Falcon--instead of bair to guard jiggly in the air, try uairs. i know it's kinda scary, but the uairs definitely give you that extra reach to hit jiggs. plus, i think uairs are more intimidating. (Like :41 seconds, a uair would have been better than a bair)

yeah dude, "apex attending" does not equal good

I didn't see you placed ahead of anyone I've ever heard of other than like infamous who's not... exactly a triumph at this point in his career

not saying you can't do it

just that you haven't yet

I placed ahead of two Apex attending peeps infamous and Tyrant.

If you are going to Apex you are playing at a high level (Not Isai level)

Like I can't see there being too many good smash players from the US who are not attending Apex other than the occasional Sheermadness. I guess I set the "high level play mark" at players who can combo and DI effectively as well as every other advanced technique. I know the game goes beyond that, but there isn't anyway to strictly delineate beyond that point, so anything beyond that is just better high level players.

Ill be at Apex 2014 (The Chosen Year).

Not everyone going to apex is high level at all lol

a lot of them are very very bad

and the list of apex non-attendees is huge as well, just as an example out of MD/VA's five good people only nintendude is going

I mean you're right in that it's a stacked-*** tourney, but there are probably scads of casuals who have never heard of apex or smashboards and who could do work on tyrant and infamous

Fine, BC it has nothing to do with Apex attendance.

I do still think that effective grasp over all technical areas of comboing as well as DI do make a player high level.

I think you just haven't played a bad enough player in a while to know what a non-smashboards-aware player plays like if you think they could beat infamous and Tyrant.

You have probably forgotten the pre-combo mindset of a smash sapling.

I play really extensively with really bad players

and more extensively with players who think they're good but aren't

It wouldn't be a bad stretch to call yobo "high-level" or "competitive." You'd have to be generous or at least not uncharitable with your definitions but it's not ridiculous to say.

Now, "high-level competitive player" would be a side-splitter

I mean there's no concrete definition. If your personal definition of high level includes everyone who's ever played (i.e. if you're somewhat generous) then he might be considered high-level

^Thanks for the bump, I had never seen this thread. I didn't know Ness' recovery was so versatile (down b air camp + reverse pk fire to DJC bair). This only confirms his position on my tier list in the informant's thread.
