Ok, I need a definitive list of people who would like housing

I can't remember whose staying with who. Whats the deal with you, Shane? Ammon's brother's house? Is Silent staying with you?

So far all I know for sure is

Another person up here has offered to provide housing, so I think we can house around 20 or so.

Good News/Bad News:

GC can send up two TVs and the GameCubes HOWEVER, someone jacked one of my Mem Cards this past weekend... So I need ot get a new one and then have someone swap the info over.
SOMEONE that I can trust (Nate) needs to help me find a way to get these up there as my Saturn will not fit the TVs.

Also, I am in Detroit from the 8th - 20th, home for Saturday (the GC Tournament one) and may have to be in Detroit the next week, meaning I am home for only the Saturday of the WWU Tournament.
Why do you all care as long as I am home for those days (if you even care about that heh)?
Because it means I am on a tight schedule as I leave for Detroit on Sunday mornings at like 8am.
So I should prob not have anyone ride with me, AND I need to make sure that whoever transports my TVs and Cubes, that I can get them back to GC on Sunday when its Open (or Monday), as I need them that next week for two Halo events.

Things GC Chris WILL need help from the WWU Community with:
1 - A computer (laptop or otherwise) with TIO on it. (I would bring mine, but as I may have to leave at some point earlier then the tournament, I cant leave my work laptop)
2 - If you all have them, a couple of large White Boards to keep Brackets on (and pens for them)
2A - if you dont have them, we need to find a bracket delivery method for the tournament.


My Recommendation:
If we have more then 50 people (which I am certain we do), you will want to strongly consider breaking this down into 4 tournaments, where maybe the top 4 from each bracket advances to a 5th bracket to determine winner.
To try and run a bracket, esp Double Elim, with more then 50 people in it is insane and really almost not workable...The bracket is just simply too large to effectively manage. (also to post so people can read it...)

Yeah...with as many people coming as they are, the bracket would be insane.

I was almost thinking pools, but then we run the risk of people being the in same pool that really dont want to be and someone, in turn, gets screwed over. Also, the WWU kids wouldn't even really get to compete outside of the pools, which is dumb for them.

So, that does seem like a good idea...a few 'seperate' tourneys, which almost works like a pool, but it gives everyone a fair chance to compete.

Whew, I'm open to suggestions. And those of you who are hellbent on helping us run the tourney (Nate, GC guy, etc) need to be up here several hours before the tourney begins.

Pools will screw and take the fun out of any player up here at WWU. I vote seperate 'weeding out' tourneys.

So, how do we sign up? Do we just show up before the starting time or do we have to register before the day of the tournament.
Also, I was wondering if you guys could tell me if I should even go to the tournament. I mean I am decent at smash, but I am by all menas no pro.

Dan, me, Gimpy, Shane, Teddy, Mike (If he's going), and David (if he's going) are prolly housing with you. expect that many just in case.

falco123 - you should definitely go. majority of the ppl there arent 'pro' or anything like that. its just fun either way.

on a side note, jokingly, funny how you paid me that one time for kinda running one of the mid sized GC tourneys, but in the biggest one ever I ran basically everything except typing in locations/names and pretty much got nothing for it, though it was fun... I'm not asking for money or anything, just questioning your ways of compensation XD

Dan, I'll be your ***** at this tourney to make sure it runs smoothly, what time exactly do you want me to be there in the morning, as I said, I'm housing up there so it wont be a problem.

It's not up to me, but I'm sure 1 more person wouldn't hurt at all. i don't thihnk it'll even matter where we stay either. I'd prefer ammon's bros cause then we might get to play and not wait. =P
after youve reached over like 5 ppl, 1 more really wont hurt. XD

I may need a partner, Hitsugaya. Since it's a big tournament, everyone will be probably be going back to regular teammates, so I may be left out.
I dont know if David's coming or if he's teaming with iSam.

Aww man, word of this tourney keeps leaking, and more and more people are hearing about it / confirming. The room we're hosting in is big, yes, but jeez - I hope we dont *have* to put a cap on this...

Though, on the bright side, rest assured - this will be the best WA tourney ever.
