Thoughts on this...

So while Iknow you all like your friendlies... but if this is going to be 50+ people, that is a huge tournament and the only way we get it done in the allotted time is to not screw around... so set up Tournament Time and Friendlies Time, OR you designate strict guidelines on what TVs are for what and they can not change.

Just some thoughts on how to do this if this is going to be that big.

yes, lets make everythign about power rankings, i say we have a new power rankings for people who stay the longest at gameclucks on average, then we have anotehr one for earliest arrivals, then we can make a "who wears most of the color green" (that one works with multiple colors) and we can also have our own character power rankings list that goes from 1st to 15th also, so we order the top 15 game and watches in the state, then ness, and we can do roy and so on and so forth.

yeayuhz.

in all seriousness though haha

i think we've tried to limit the amount of friendlies going on, but people just tend to not listen and occupy tv's unless they literally get kicked off, and even then, even in a friendly, its more of a "AFTER THIS MATCH" kind of deal, which is lame. this isn't to say i haven't done it, but its just kinda harder to enforce, we dont erally have a "staff" to do that, we all just kinda try to help out haha

yeah why should we want the community to improve as a whole when we can simply have private gatherings at nates house where nobody comes because they get *****, rather than improving those who aren't as good as us, we should **** them really hard, not let htem do friendlies, and then be upset when they dont show up to our smashfests.

People don't go to Nate's cuz it's not very open of a thing. he doesnt have a thread for it or for Ssssp! like SKYPAL does.

im sure wed get nubs there if wanted. but...
weve at least been tryna get gonzales and stuff over there a few times.

If you need to designate someone to kicking people off TVs I can usually do that rather well.

Though Otto tends to play all his matches through the winners bracket before the losers even starts so watch out for that.

how about if we even think it could POTENTIALY be a friendly match, we give no warning, and simply punch the player in the face from their blindspot?

that'll show them whos boss.

I say, we may as well punch all people we don't recognize in the face, so we can play on the TVs and have Byes the whole tourney. >_>

LOL I agree.

Punching people in the face does seem to be the way to go.

I think Otto, Nate, Gimpy and I can be extra staff, and focus on managing people more. WE BASICALLY RUN **** ANYWAYS MANG. 'specially me? >_> <_< </imworthless>

nate already actually IS staff lol

to make things simple i'm just going to punch everyone that i see in the face, and that happens immediately as entering, so my first punch will likely go to gameclucks guy i guess

Yes, I agree.

Lets see here...the tournament starts at 2, and I have the room reserved at 8 a.m. I'm pretty sure we'll start setting up around 10...

Once everything is set up and ready to go, warmups sound good until the tourney starts...but yeah, once the tourney DOES start, NO FRIENDLIES!!!

!!!

With 70+ people, we can have a match going at pretty much any point in time...

Not to say that people can't do n64 friendlies during melee...and vice versa...I guess it just depends on how many TV's we get all together and the amount of space there is left...

Speaking of which, I need to start making an equipment list.

WE COULD USE ANY TV'S, CUBES, POWER STRIPS, AND N64'S YOU GUYS CAN SPARE.

Tell me, who is bringing what?

So far, all I have outside of WWU is GC guy with a few TV's and a few cubes.

You can count on me for a 1 TV and 1 Cube...and a punch in the face.

Update on SKYPAL attending: most likely. As we all know, they're a hard group to pin down. Everyone that I've asked sounded interested so here's hoping.
