melee players should definetely give this a chance
played it again the other day. im telling you the sonic vs falco matchup is probably one of the most even matchups out there. its a **** load of fun and i cant wait for someone to do the detailed write up on it. falco controls the stage much better then sonic but once sonic gets him off stage the homing attack gimps falco so easily. but thats mainly based on the fact that falco recovery is even worse then it was in melee i would call this match up even
Sonic vs Falco is not an even matchup <_<
Falco's recovery is not "nerfed." It's simply not DONE.
Homing attack is a balance issue that will be addressed.
What you played was not a beta, it was an alpha. Everything is subject to change
I haven't seen any Sonic matches in Project M, but it sounds like he's still pretty dull. Sonic should play more like Fox. Nerf his recovery, make him a fastfaller, give him fast broken attacks that do minute damage and there you go. That's the way we all pictured him when we were looking forward to the next game.
If he's still sonic the edgehog, then project m has failed.
Sonic =/= Fox. The majority of Sonic players LIKE his passive aggressive style. It focus primarily on sneaking in an initial hit either as a counter attack or some approach from an odd angle, doing a relatively short combo, and then maintaining pressure for very long strings of juggles or tech chases to lead to an edgeguard.
If you don't like this playstyle, I strongly suggest you play one of the other 36 characters. You could always force a different playstyle onto him (I'm sure some other playstyles would work), but it's simply not what Sonic's moveset lends him to.
Oh and btw, Fox does absurd damage per hit in melee.
@ICHIGOBLEACH, why are you so **** vocal all the time?
Random people incorrect or biased information about the project happens all the time. 90% of Smash World Forums are low level players after all. Isn't it a pain to respond to...ALL of them?
While blind optimism is not a good thing and it's correct to be critical until proven otherwise...you have to realize that nobody will HAVE said proof until the project is near completion. So can you chill out with bashing every single little thing about the project until we come out and say that we're ****ing done?
If Project M Zelda = Melee Zelda + a good dair + a good uair + a good forward B + an up B that can recover and not get easily edge guarded + a good grab, then yes. I'd love to play Project M.
Also, Keep Project M Zelda's wavedash the same as Melee Zelda's wavedash. wavedash f/u smashes are so stupid and broken in Project M (Last I played it (like a month ago)).
Wavedash distances haven't been addressed yet.
Yes Project M Zelda has everything you said (plus a larger upsmash and nair, a better jab, and better neutral b)
