Lately I've been trolling offline Brawl. I can only play Brawl on other Wii systems, so I jump at the chance to play it whenever it arises. I have really missed being able to play this game...
So anyway, here's two humorous anecdotes:

1) My friends and one of my friends' cousin was playing, and I had an evil idea. The cousin had played maybe twice in his whole life, but I saw he used MK. My friend is a Ganon main, and out of my friends, he's the best. Manipulating events so that they would want to 1v1 each other, I told Blake to hand me the controller mid-match. Gage didn't see it, and being the prick I was, I nearly 3-stocked him, and quickly gave it back to Blake, the cousin. My friend was furious and confused. How could Blake have done so well with so little experience? Several matches, and much raging/trolling/johning later, his other 5-year old cousin caught on to what we were doing. But seriously, it was so funny. We changed MK's tag to Pimp and Ganon's to ***** while he wasn't looking, and Blake was a super awesome troll and kept saying, "You're just mad cuz I'm better than you."

2) I have this sort of rival in my hometown. She's a girl who's pretty good at Brawl, and uses all the huggable and cutesy characters. She even played online quite a bit. My friends hate playing her because they usually get knocked out first and then she and I duke it out while they wait. I conspired with them an evil strategy that would make it a little more fun. We all picked Ike, and our target was Lizzy. (The girl rival I have... Yeah, I know, it's so manly to beat up a teenage girl in a Nintendo game.)
Lizzy had unknowingly made the worst possible choice in characters: Jigglypuff. Only one word could describe the CARNAGE that ensued... Fsmash. Not even a minute in, she had been instantly KO'd after getting hit almost simultaneously by three Ike fsmashes. When she finally hit one of us, a fsmash would come out of nowhere.
She ragequitted, and a fit of laughter soon followed.

It's moments like those that truly remind me just how fun this game is, and why it will always be my favorite. You'd think doing the same thing over and over would bore me, but for some unexplainable reason, it's still fun for me

TL;DR: This is the only game that has actually held my interest for so long, and that's why I like it.

lol, I feel the same way ^__^.

I still play The original Smash because it's so funny XD. Cool stories, though ^__^. It's hard to say which game is my all time favorite out of all of them, but for fighters, I think it would be the Super Smash Bros. series.

My 2 friends play smash all the time competitively and are always trying to screw each other over in free for alls. Whenever one of us is ahead the other two double team him to even the odds out, almost all of our fights are last hit type fights that end with shouts of rage and disappointment.

The downside is that one of my friends has an annoying 9 year old nehphew who is so bad at the game, he is making us worse. He will manage to lose all 3 of his stocks in a period of 60 seconds. We try to discourage him from playing by having all 3 of us jump him at once to make him want to rage quit. In fights when we all have 3 lives each of us get an individual stock to take off of him while the other 2 sit on the opposite side of the stage, and when he gets killed we "tag" each other in WWE style. This is all while I am using my Hulk Hogan textured Snake to u-throw him well yelling "HULKAMANIA IS GONNA RUN WILD BROTHER!!!"

Smash creates the best memories.

He is annoying as hell and makes stupid excuses for why he cannot get better. We tell him to SH with wolf and do b-airs. "I can't because my anger makes it too hard for me to short-up because i press the buttons too hard." I kid you not he really said that. We tell him to stop trying to dair all the time with Toon Link because it ALWAYS leads to him suiciding. Rather than listen to us, he just says ok and does it again. Whenever we criticize him to help him improve he gets mad and rages and cries before storming out of the room.

Either way it has led to some FUNNY memories. He kept making a mistake once and we told him the right button combo to press, but he raged and yelled "I AM DOING IT!!", but in the middle of his rage he fumbled the controller in his hand and it went flying across the room. We were rolling on the floor crying for like 10min.

Great game to play unless noone lives in your crappy Deltona neighborhood :/

We used to have this place around called GameKnights that basically the best way to describe it was a gameing lounge. It had like 15 xbox360s, 8 PS3s, 2 Wiis, and some other old school consoles like PS2s and SNESs. One Wii was dedicated to Brawl and i swear thats where half the hype in the whole place was xD

Unfortunatelly ot went out of business :( i hate the resession...
