Snake seems godlike when you first encounter a great Snake player, but after you learn how to predict his attacks, he's really not THAT good.

Meta Knight, on the other hand, you can predict and still do nothing about it ^^

Not exactly. Can we predict Solid Snakes F-tilt, at the speed it processes and dodge it? No, we can't. Although, we can expect it to come, while were in its range but still not be able to do anything about it.

I disappear from the Snake boards for like a month and a half to go play Melee Falcon, and I come back and what do I find?

More threads about Snake being broken.

I was hoping someone would have broken Brawl and given us a technique the caliber of wavedashing by now haha

I'll keep dreaming....but Snake's still fun as t!ts

So true.

Well, I guess that if people aren't going to complain about MK, they might as well direct it at Snake, eh?

Power, Range, Projectiles, and Weight... These are the 4 major attributes Snake has.

Power comes from basically every move he gots, especially U-tilt and Fsmash, and the last hit of his D-air and N-air. These moves have great knockback, and kill quickly.

Range comes from, umm the Broken-ranged U-tilt. It is among one of the most hated moves because of its broken range, and is spammable too. D-tilt has range, but does not have the broken range that U-tilt does.

Projectiles are strong, especially a C4. Grenades stop a lot of approaches, which gives many with projectile weaknesses, like Bowser and Ganon, the trouble.

Weight is said to be 3rd heaviest, and still, seems as heavy as the King of Koopas. This hurts those with bad KO power... that is unless, those chars are able to spike.

Should he lose one of those, then many players who have a problem with him (like me) would stand a bit more of a chance. I prefer that either his Weight be cut down, and the U-tilt's range be diminished (or weaken its power)
Regardless, even though I dislike him a lot, his annoyance is nothing compared to MK. MK is the real broken cheap char.

I also agree with admirals, except for one TINY thing, although I admit he's broken as well, I don't think MK is as bad as Snake is, both are very broken, unbalanced characters, but Snake is just flat out ridiculus, everything admiral said about snake is true, he's got da power, the weight, range, AND PROJECTILES, MK really only has the speed, but MK ALWAYS has to get near you to hit you, he doesn't have a single projectile, so therefore, MK is FORCED to ALWAYS play right up in your face, if he is to do any damage, his range, while still good considering how small a character he is, is nothing compared to the ridiculus reach, and power of ALL snakes attacks

cause snake just camps all day and uses his gernades and honing missiles to attack.
that is what a n00b snake does if you play REALLY well played snakes like SamuraiPanda (which you did there is video proof) they are not like what you said

The only broken thing about Snake are those ****ing disjointed-beyond-Hell hitboxes in his Ftilt and Utilts.

No-one in this game is broken. Some of the characters' attacks have BS properties (hi Ness Dair) but otherwise I can handle Snake and MK just fine. Also I really don't think Snake has any bad matchups, and at worst he has a few somewhat neutral ones (MK and DK for example).

MK really is annoying....but yeah only thing cheap about snake are 2 of his what 20 attacks (is that how many characters get?), I mean his Ftilt and Utilt are disjointed and he doesn't even have a sword (wtf?). And Ftilt is pretty much impossible to sidestep since you can just swing your 2nd part of the attack whenever you want, so only thing broken about that one is range power and inability to dodge (Don't get me wrong I've rolled behind and pwned them before I'm just talking sidestepping). and Utilt, well EVERYONE knows about the utilt (every character has a good move and this is snakes and I'm not complaining), I know some snake mains that'll admit how broken that moves speed, power, priority and range (just one would be annoying but it has all 4 broken attributes). Then again get him off stage and he's pretty much dead (i've edgeguarded snakes with Link...and he can't edgeguard if his life depended on it)

In regards to my quote here, while Snake has all of this, I believe the problem that he does have is facing opponents with some Range of their own, or with Spikes, which is the reason why DK gives him trouble. That makes me wonder if Ike can give some snakes trouble even though he has range and a spike too.
I guess DK is a good choice against them, but idk anyone else that gives Snake trouble, cept the almighty broken MK. Maybe Wario's B move to gimp an Up-B recovering snake?
Surprisingly, the Ape gives both these overpowered chars problems. Sucks to be me, becuase I rather use Bowser, Pit, Wario, Wolf, and a Zelda.
As for Snake, I believe there wouldnt be as much complaints if his U-tilt didnt have the range and overpoweredness it has, or the weight of the King of Koopas.

The only time when Snake isnt overpowered is when he is off the edge. So that means Snake will have the advantage 80% of the time, while you will only be edge guarding him like 20% of the time during a match. Thats why Snake is cheap, he can control the flow of battle so extremely well and KO characters at very low %. Good Snakes learned how to space their recovery with their Up+B, and if they are great at spacing, Snake wins ALOT!
