Why does the Smash community have a stigma against sword-wielders?

I'm describing a trait that swordies have, not a trait that is exclusive to swordies. Logic 101
It's a trait that anyone has that is using any kind of weapon to begin with. It's not really a sword thing. It could be an axe, a staff, a vine(as noted), a hammer, etc.

This isn't really a "swordsman trait". It's a weapon trait. Nothing would change if it was a different weapon.

What I don't know is if the vines count as hurtboxes too. Weapons themselves don't count as them as they aren't literal parts of the character's body. The vines are by character design, but might not count as that. I never tested that, and it might be hard to since Ivysaur's vines aren't always out there, unlike swords or limbs usually are.

Confirmed: Ivysaur's vines don't have hurtboxes, like other weapons in general. So basically, it has nothing different from any other sword user. It's a weapon thing, not a sword thing.

??? So Ivysaur is a swordie
IIRC Ivysaur and others were discussed about being "swordies" either here or on another thread and it got pretty interesting.

Basically, why single out swordies for having disjoints, and not others like ivysaur, the belmonts, or Olimar? They all have disjoints.

So from an aesthetic point of view, people dislike "swordies" simply for the reason that they wield a sword, the melee weapon that appears all throughout the game. But from a gameplay point of view, swordies are disliked for having large disjointed attacks, which means the term also includes said characters (and a few more).

So yeah, you're absolutely right.
