Why does everyone hate Subspace Emissary?

I liked it. Despite the lack of voice acting, the plot was actually executed rather well. Characters from one franchise grouped with other characters belonging to different franchises I thought was interesting. Many cutscenes were nicely done. Surely, everyone had at least one cutscene they really liked. ^-^

This one is listed among my favorites, perhaps my most favorite. I wonder who else thought the same when this one was first seen. ^-^

It was alright, but if only they didn't devoured the game's development time making those amazingly well done cutscenes. I'd say that was worth it (the scene where they all enter Subspace was top notch), but then again it came at the cost of Roy, Mewtwo, separate Target Tests for each character, overall game balance and the ****load of glitches the game's covered, among others.

I somehow don't think it was the SSE that did Roy in.

But yeah I'd rather more in the game than another SSE, even if it was cool the first time.

I would have no problem with SSE existing if Melee's Adventure mode had still been in Brawl. As it is, I feel like the game had less replay value. I loved to replay Melee's Adventure over and over again (My friends stopped playing with me after a while and standard vs. matches against computers got boring) but SSE is not a thing that I just want to play multiple times. And I've gone through it 4 times since the game came out... It was really cool the first time but much less so on subsequent playthroughs.

Feel free to give me a new cutscene/long adventure mode, but also give me one like Melee's. I'd have no issue whatsoever then.

I'd rather not relive Melee's adventure mode to be entirely honest. I'd prefer they either do a good but not SSE-tier adventure mode, or just don't have an adventure mode.

The reason people hated SSE was because it's just another reason to hate brawl overall. Some players would go into cardiac arrest if they said they liked something about brawl. Now if SSE was put in Melee then it would have the opposite effect because then people would say only good things about it.

I disagree. I loved Brawl and overall preferred it to Melee. But the SSE just wasn't amazing for me. I liked the first time I played through it butthe levels really lacked character. They were very bland and I feel like a missed opportunity to have more characters in other franchise's worlds. :phone:
