I wouldn't say everyone on For Glory is bad at all. I have a majority of wins, but I've still gone against a fair share of people that I've had close matches with and two stocking people only happens so often. There's definitely a variety online, but they definitely don't all suck.

To be honest, I tend to lose most of my 1 on 1 matches that I play in For Glory. Although in most of them, it generally comes down to our last stock, and I do play as characters like Ganondorf and Ike in those modes. On the other hand, I do much better in Team Smash and Smash.

My Win Ratio is 100% in Smash, 60.97% in Team Battle, and 43. 75% in 1 on 1.

As for why people can be bad, it's simple. Not everyone has the same knowledge or skill with the game. I know when I first played Brawl online, I got beat pretty badly since I did not know what Meteor Smashing, Short Hopping, or other stuff like that was due to play Melee for fun with friends and a CPU.

It took me time to learn things and get better. And while I'm not the best player by any stretch of the imagination, I have gotten better over the years.

People may be bad in For Glory right now, but hopefully some of them will look to get better over time.

Why people suck on for glory

People suck
Smash is fun
Smash has for glory
Sucky people wanna play on for glory
Sucky smashers + for glory = sucky smashers on for glory. Is there a greater meaning behind this question? It seems kin of self explanatory :p

Generally this tends to happen in a lot of online games. Anyone who owns a copy of the game and has high speed internet has the potential to connect to the servers and search for a game. That being said, we were all bad at the game at some point. The amount of competitive players that have a solid understand of smash fundamentals are a minority in comparison to everyone that purchase a copy of Smash Bros.

The best thing to do against these players as somebody with a better understanding of the game is not to autopilot against them for the sake of your record, and if they spam moves like Kirby's stone from the very top of the stage then 2 stock them and back out. Not everyone is bad though. I'm a decent tournament player myself thats made a small amount of coinage over the years, but I've ran into people on For Glory that are way better than me and wrecked me.

If bad players bother you that much, just add good people and play only friend matches.

I am not that great (competitively speaking), but I play FG a lot. If it makes you feel better, people like you are helping people like me get better. And I appreciate that.

I'm pretty bad, and I play for glory a lot. I get two stocked regularly. I'm there to get better, and getting beat down seems like the best way to learn. The For Fun matches are too chaotic, I think I learn more 1 on 1.

If people want to leave after one match and find someone better to fight, that's cool, but it doesn't seem to happen a lot. Most people seem happy to try out different characters until they find one I can beat.

To everyone that's been two stocking me: thanks!

You gotta know there are people who were solely waiting for the Wii U version and haven't had the pleasure of getting familiar with the 3ds version. With that said, I can still pick up & play any game and do pretty good at it. There's mostly kids and newbies, what can you do?

I'd much rather play a newbie than a scrub spammer. Out of the two, newbies are the ones who learn.

Still come across some skilled peeps lately on Wii U even some some cool ones who respect.

I just realized you didn't specify which version at the same time me thinking I was on the Wii U board. Not that it really matters. It's all the same on For Glory.

Too many damn boards on this damn site.

Because Little Macs love to Side-B off the edge.
*scrub Little Macs love to Side-B off the edge. Any experienced Mac isn't gonna do that (unless it's an input mistake or they just make a mistake).

You must not have much to be proud of IRL if your bragging to a bunch of anons. Or your just young and immature. But im just as bad for even responding.

Idk seems to be a sh**post. I dont see what it accomplishes other than rustling my (and others) jimmies and giving you a feeling of superiority, which I am assuming you must struggle with confidence issues in other facets of your life. Idk, like I am good at statistics and data analysis but I dont go around saying other people suck or shood get gud at it.

But I guess it angered me so you prob win the troll game. But couldnt go down without a fight :).

I just need to go to bed this post made me way more angry than it should have. its prob cause I just got off a bad losing streak haha.

Maybe if you learned how to spell "you're" among other words then your post wouldn't be so sh**, either? We've seen this thread 992 times, yes. You said you're just as bad for responding so at least you are correct on that point. If he can get mad, then why is it okay for you to get mad at his post? It's the same thing.

Furthermore, For Glory is a problem. Smash Bros. is huge and Sakurai knows the competitive scene is one of the biggest in the world. Having that in mind, matchmaking, particular For Glory, should pair your with the right kind of people. It should find stats that match up and give players a good time. Newbs with lesser-skilled players and skilled players with experienced players just like them. It's a design flaw. Naturally, people are gonna suck. There's nothing wrong with that.

Your really gonna focus on that grammatical mistake? Not the three or four sentence fragments? Or the fact I was writing in the passive voice? Those issues r probably more important to the flow amd effectiveness of a message/essay than the improper use of your.

I also didnt use a single apostrophe. Your prob right, maybe I should be more mindful of my grammar and writing on the internet, but I treat it as one on one coversations not a peer reviewed journal. But thats just a persinal view and I have to deal with writing and grading on a daily/weekly basis so its nice to just chill and write with my mindfulness turned down a notch.

I also dont want to be pedantic or get into an argument about the vernacular of the internet, as its off topic. But its prob too late for that :). Sorry mods.

But I agree on the matchmaking part it would be way more enjoyable for all parties. I just wonder if the population is/will be large enough to sustain a paired matchmaking system. AndI wish there was a stock option for two v two.

3rd graders do it better than you. Actually, typing without malapropism is courteous to those who are reading it as they don't have to decipher what you are saying due to you talking "how i feel".

Typing correctly creates a better flow. Yeah it makes me just as mad as you are mad at this thread. :salt:

I don't know if the game puts you in a battle againist someone as experienced as you, with somebody who has as many wins and as much experience in a character as you are, kinda like SF4 does with BP but if does not have that feature, it should.

I will admit, i'm one of those guys who plays on For Glory to practice, i lose alot more than i win, so i really am one of those "scrubs" you guys are talking about.

Fair enough. Cant beat that. Arguments for courteousness beat arguments against elitism in my book. But i am usually a little better than that on a keyboard ;).

I'm pretty sure it does have match-making, if it can find someone who has similar win percentage it matches you up with them. This is judging by my experience in Spectate, which mostly seems to have people matched up that are of close win percentage.

And you're not a "scrub" if you're just new to the game. As long as you're trying to learn and get better and have good sportsmanship then that's good play.

I believe that before the wiiu version came out, the 3ds was a collection of monsters. Now I rarely fight anyone good on the wiiu version.

Oh okay, but that's still not helpful, if someone with 300 matches and 100 wins gets paired up with someone with 15 matches and 5 wins, then the guy witht he 300 matches would proabably win because of experience.

Well, I'm not sure exactly how the match-making works, it may also take into account the amount of matches. It must have some sort of match-making based on win percentage at least, because of how close win percentages are when you watch Spectate.

I agree with this for the most part I've only fought 2 people better then me so far one this insane Fox player but I was still trying to figure out a good way to deal with fast characters(but no john's so all just sum it up as I got wrecked) and the second person was I got during a For glory spree and it was like 3 in the moring and we played like 15 games I improve a lot. Basically there out there just few and far between.

I think worse players are a good opportunity to try out different characters without worrying about getting wrecked. I wouldn't do that too much though - it's easy to develop bad habits.

That's pretty much the case. To pretty much refer to Joystick Specialist's video on that topic on YouTube, non-existent matchmaking is one of the reasons why some people like me find it hard to stand at chance against other players, while most of the time you see a lot of Smash montages against players who often fail to recover most of the time.

The input lag is actually a disadvantage to players that use advanced input tech. If you try to actually play well you're going to lose to most mediocre players.

input lag, makes walks runs, makes tilts smashes, sometimes decides i didn't press something that i did and vice versa, also expect all down airs to be fast-falled. When I experience enough input lag I actually get too scared to do alot of things I would normally do offline even after I've been away from it for a few matches and my (already crappy) skills suffer heavily for it.
