Which second non-Echo Square Enix character do you want?

I would’ve gone with Noctis since I have a few reasons for wanting him.

1. I like the character.
2. Awesome and unique moveset potential (Warp-strikes, Magic Flask, Armiger!)
3. Tekken 7 has shown how awesome his moveset can be.
4. Even though I wanted him already, ever since FFXV Pocket Edition HD was confirmed for Nintendo Switch, he’s now the latest FF protagonist who appeared in Nintendo consoles (putting an end to the “must have appeared on Nintendo” fan-made rule disqualified him in other’s eyes, despite Sakurai not stating said rule officially).

However, since he’s not on this poll, I voted for Sora instead.

Geno for sure but my runner up is Erdrick. FF may be more popular ( in the west anyway ) but DQ is the grandaddy of RPGs.
Plus, I want to see how many people would lose their mind if the trailer had a close up of his face before the full body reveal and everyone thought it was Goku.
EDIT: ( Actually I'd rather go Dragon Lord but I recognize that there's no way a villain gets in over a protagonist. )

Honestly Neku, Chrono or Terra would be awesome in their own right. However I voted Terra; I just think she's the better nintendo FF rep.

I know Geno is the popular choice, but I can't ignore my girl Terra.

Final Fantasy 6 introduced me to the older Final Fantasy games. Terra would represent that well.

Not to mention her moveset potential for magic based attacks would be awesome.

Other all the way. In a slightly particular order:

1. Slime from Dragon Quest! Slime is the mascot of the series (this long running, highly popular series), and Slime as a character is incredibly popular in Japan (and to a lesser extent the West. I for one knew of Slime and what it looked like long before I knew Dragon Quest was a thing). Plus: Slime's moveset would be pretty neat. I like Slime!

2. Bub from Bubble Bobble. The things I just said for Slime? They apply to Bub too! The Bubble Bobble/Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-Move series is very long running and (though diminishing over the years) rather popular. Not Dragon Quest popular, but still popular. Bub's also another character who has quite a bit of prominence in the outside marketing universe (so people who either don't play video games or haven't heard of Bubble Bobble would recognize him). Plus: Bub's bubbles-and-rainbows moveset would be a delight!

3. So my first Final Fantasy game was Final Fantasy VIII, so that'll always be the game that has a special place in my heart. Because of this, I shoulb probably throw my other vote in for Squall, as Squall has the second-most likelihood of these three (I'm tempted to say the most likely, but Slime is really big and important you guys! Slime!). But I'm not throwing my vote in for Squall, because I'd like to get a bit better with representation for human characters in Smash and get another female fighter in. So my FF8 vote is for Riona Heartlilly. I mean, she was important in FF8 too, if not equally important to the game as Squall.

Theoretically, Lara Croft could count, kind of...

But even then, my picks are between Neku and Crono. 2B as a longshot if Automata gets a Switch port. You want to talk about characters I both associate with Nintendo and consider All Stars, it just comes down to those two. TWEWY is one of the freshest games on the DS and the Switch port is going to be killer, and Chrono Trigger is one of those classic SNES games that defined the console.

I can take or leave Geno. I remember back in the 64/Melee days when fans really wanted him in, and that hype train never stopped. I get it - I liked Super Mario RPG too - but to me, he's a lot less exciting of a choice than the others on my list. I'd rather have an unrepresented franchise in that still screams Nintendo All Star, and he's not even my first pick to represent the Mario RPGs.

That said, Erdrick would be an important character to include, so while he's not on my personal faves list he's one I'd love to see for what he represents.

In all fairness, Vergeben kind of leaked TWEWY Final Remix. He erroneously addressed the game as TWEWY 2 because of a "Japanese registry that said "'a new TWEWY game'" (and I kind of trust him on it because that suspiciously happened last December, a month prior to the game's announcement). Not to mention all the small teases at ResetERA regarding that game from about a week before January's Direct.

Gotta wonder if Square rolled any heads because of that.

Lara Croft is the only Square owned character that I think is a big enough gaming icon to compete with Cloud and be the Ryu to his Mega man. Plus she'd be great to add to the list of PlayStation AllStars in Smash alongside Cloud and Snake. Just need Crash and Spyro after that to complete the Sony related mascot roster.

She's not an option on the list bizarrely though, nor is Slime(no one remembers the playable heros), A Chocobo, A Moogle or Black Mage so I'm at a loss for who to vote for.

I like Sora fine but don't really want him in Smash without Disney elements and that's a whole other can of worms and Geno's inclusion before any kind of playable Toad, Paper Mario or Waluigi just depresses me as a Mario fan. It's like adding Capcom owned Ricky the Kangaroo as the next Zelda character. Only Ricky was playable in two games.

I'd rather Agent 47 than most the options here honestly.

3 Reasons I Want Geno in Smash:
1st. Sakurai HIMSELF wanted to put him in Brawl
2nd. Some of the DLC Mii Costumes from SSB4(Inkling, King K. Rool) became Playable Fighters, who's to say that Geno won't too?!
3rd. He was Highly Requested by the Fans

Because other people want him in, you do too? That sounds like a pretty lame reason.

Then again, I have never understood his popularity with the Smash crowd.

Terra would be cool, but Sora all the way. He's had a bunch of appearances on Nintendo systems and would be incredibly fun to play as. I think people blindly claiming that it has to be Geno are severely discounting how well-known and requested Sora is by the general audience.

The reason that he has a Mii Fighter costume while Sora doesn't could simply be that it's easier to license his look from SE for a simple costume when they already had Cloud than it would be to go ask Disney if they could dress up an infrequently used fighter as their character.

I'm not saying he's an impossibility, but just way overhyped.

With how Final Fantasy didn’t even get an Assist Trophy while Street Fighter, Bayonetta and Castlevania did, or even any Spirits, I’m starting to severely doubt the second Square rep will be anyone from any Final Fantasy game, VII or not.

I vote for Chrono because I think Sakurai is hinting his inclusion because of the Reserve Banner he post on his twitter and people say Chrono could control time I didn't know that so thats dupe. I love Time Travel and Powers and one reason Chrono is a retro rep that we need. We got a joke character Piranha Plant I dont mind that his my favorite Mario Enemy and Joke Characters are welcome in my book more the merrier. Even know crossing my fingers for Sora but I dont see him happening I so wish Im wrong but it will be a licences nightmare. But after listening the Life Light song everyday how can they not add Sora?
