the bad side of having auto jump-cancel Ness/Yoshi is that after the aerial you're still Ness or Yoshi, and Peach is Peach with Falco's laser.

I mean, pretty much this.

However, I feel like Ness would be better off here than yoshi because even though yoshi has some nasty aerials, ness at least still has some recovery option. Also, Uair chains are a nightmare.

Wouldn't peach with such a long time in the air be rather countered with lasers? She's slower in the air than Falco, so get hit trying to fire multiple lasers or not be able to fire off one quickly to snuff an approach.

You simply have to not use your lasers and you're a regular peach. There's absolutely no downside to replacing useless toad with op lasers.

The problem here is that Ness and Yoshi can already DJC while Peach can't already shoot lasers. Regardless of whether it is auto-cancelled or not doesn't really change much, because people can DJC with almost no problem. If Ness' PKT had the same effect on his opponents as it does on him when he launches himself, then that'd be a little more interesting. Or if he shot out Samus' Charge Shot, then yeah.

Yoshi should have SMW red shell fireballs for his neutral B with no landing lag
djc fireballs all day

that would at least make this which is more broken a bit more interesting
