Which character have you had trouble fighting with Marth?

For some weird reason, Sonic, DeDeDe and Peach give me the most trouble.

My friend's GW, lol. Spams down air and since it hits twice and has little lag, it gets annoying after a while. Also, he gets nines very often, so I guess he's luckhaxing. >_>

Next time FD, LC and SV won't be choices for the match, I'm using Yoshi's Island (Brawl) and Battlefield...

Also, King Dedede, Pit, and Meta Knight give me trouble. The latter two especially since my controller is dying and I get input lag from even offline matches (xD).

Yeah, I'm importing that new white GCN controller once it arrives. ._.

The people you are having trouble fighting probably can be beaten by doing one of the following
1) counter more
2) combo more (dancing blade0
3) shieldgrab more

If these don't work tell me what they do to beat you and i can give u a more specific counter-strategy

Meta is by far one of the hardest matchups Marth can play. You can't gimp or be aggressive against him, which completely marginalizes Marth's strengths.

1) DDD
2)DK
3)Bowser

and sometimes wario, but not so much

i usually **** ikes, unless they are really good

and i havent fought much good snakes

oh yea and MKs give me trouble as well, its f***ing annoying

hahaha how about anything omegablackmage plays against me (he is the guy i usually play against since i live with him at school)?

my toughest marth matchup is ROB only because onstage he acts like a snake and off stage like metaknight. So the approach on him is very difficult.

references to snake - over tilt and walking. very heavy. Spammy projectiles. glide toss to grab is comparable to snake's sliding up smash.

references to MK - flies around. can consistently wall and still get back to stage. can punish a marth if marth uses the second jump off stage.

Metaknight -_- I seem to get out prioritized by his tiny sword, his tornado hurts, and his upB is sick. His edge gaurding is insane with 5 jumps and a gliding UpB to get him back from literally across the screen.

I scanned this thread looking for a post by Emblem Lord, and yet there's nothing.

Anyways, Marth beats all of the characters you're complaining about. His only problems are in the God Tier, aka Snake and MetaKnight, just because they're so freakin amazing. He can only punish MetaKnight when the MK messes up massively or Marth finally gets a shot to use forward b.

i agree with the guy above. the only chars that i have a prob beating with marth is snake and MK. Good snake players are hard to fight without getting hit with some kind of explosive and MK just has a plain advatage over marth. Anything in the air MK will wreck marth.

Iuni is correct. Only Snake and MK really give Marth trouble and that's because they are amazing, not so much because they have advantage on Marth.

Fighting Snakes and MK's with Marth is alot of fun IMO.

Makes me think alot, and if they mess up I get a tipper. ^_^

I personally have trouble fighting Olimar. I'm just not really used to his range yet (especially his grab range).

My brother plays a pretty aggressive Lucario and is pretty good at DI so I have a rough time usually trying not to mess up my camping/pokes and finishers.
