What Wrecks Meta Knight?

Yoshi and DK are the closest things to wrecking him as you will get. They're both 50:50 with MK

i'd say marth is good against metaknight because of his better range
MK outranges Marth on all safe moves. Marth is at a slight (60:40) disadvantage overall in the match. It would be nice though

if metaknight is outplayed he gets pawned. the problem is that not enough people are good enough to beat a decent metaknight player.

Yoshi does okay against him. Smart projectiles are good. His air release grab leads into all sorts of bad things.

Air release grab is something I don't see enough of. It could become his big weakness. Like Wario or Ness.

I've studied this topic extensively. Hours on end even. And I've found Metaknight's only counter. The reset button.

Italy is a pretty good counter, although the matchup is still in MK's favour, just not 100:0 anymore

that made me lol.

it was discovered that the supposed 0-death chainban was actually false.

so the matchup is more 40:60.

nah, there is one alternative.

you can punch the other player in the face and warlock punch them or something while they're rolling around on the floor bleeding

A competent Diddy ***** mid to low level MKs (I would argue it takes more skill for mid level MK to beat a mid level Diddy). At high levels I think its an even match up or still Diddy's favor.

Lucario's Fsmash wrecks MK's approaches as well as the tornado, while at the same time racking up tons of damage and killing at high %. I hear Zero Suit Samus's SideB does similar with more range, but I doubt it's as effective as Lucario's Fsmash "spam."
Spotdodging and powershielding "wrecks" fsmash spam. Considering MK's biggest spacing tool is dairs, you won't be seeing fsmash in this match enough to wave it into Luc's favor. MK still harasses the **** out of Luc offstage, and can juggle Luc way too **** well thanks to his floaty nature.

Stage dependence also plays a large factor in the Luc vs. MK matchup, as MK's platform pressure is stupid good compared to Luc's rather mediocre pressure game.

So far, only two characters show ANY promise against MK - Lucario, because he becomes more powerful with damage, and has some good spacing tools. If Lucario survives a long time, he can win (but that is true of all of Luc's matchups)

Diddy - I am highly skeptical of this, because banana knowledge may make or break this matchup. If it is an issue of banana-knowledge, then the matchup isn't actually in Diddy's favor, but rather relies on the opponent having little experience with bananas.

Yoshi is a possibility if I could see some proof (video?), but I am a skeptic.

Please DO NOT post anything that is not true, and do not make a matchup seem more even than it actually is. Every matchup that is disproven is worse for MK than if we had never known about it in the first place - it becomes just one more thing that "doesn't work on MK," while we are looking for a list of the viable options available against him for genuine reasons to avoid a ban of a character that is really fun to play (even if he is a little TOO fast).

i like using R.O.B. against MK, but he's not a counter by any means
although spotdodge-dsmash is always fun
oh, and lasers (angled mostly)
and did i mention good gyro work shieldpokes? lol
and gyros screw with throws -->always funny when the gyro hits him when he goes to throw you due to the change in position
but i am true to the opinion that MK is BEATABLE, but has no (consistantly) even matchups, the only time it seems that a certain character has an advantage is just because of the player's lack of knowledge on the matchup (how snake/DK used to be counters)
the only real counter to MK is either MK or outplaying the other player, which in reality, isn't impossible by any means, depending on which character you play, a 60:40 matchup isn't bad at all, you just need to learn how to play against MK
in short: PRACTICE! PLAY GOOD MK'S!!!!
otherwise you shall fail
