I call them 'mock' dittos. But anyways when you face someone for the first time who's playing a completely different character from you and then the next match they suddenly switch to your character. It's even more infuriating when it's your exact color.

I like dittos when they're random but when someone switches to the character you were just playing all because they lose the first match, it pisses me off. I get this a lot with Ike and more often than not, they just spam smashes for days and then said people just leave after the match. It's like, wow you must be so proud of yourself.

Yeah, I will get that a lot when I play Little Mac. Happens so often I can expect it.

I wouldn't say grind my gears, but if I ever come across a FG Mario sporting an American flag palette I know for sure I'm done for.

But I get pretty upset if I am forced to fight my opponent during lag, and if I get KO'ed, he/she usually double taunts mid-match. Yeah, most Toon Links I fought are notorious for doing that....

This does not grind my gears, but many people I played lost the first game, then switched to my character using my exact same color, beats me because I switched my character, makes his tag YOUSUCK, GETREKT, UR BAD, or 2EZ, then quits.

That actually happened to me when I used Ike for the first time and got my butt handed to me by a Falco player. Next match I switched to my main and my opponent chose Ike. Oh, it gets better. He even picked out the same color (black) I sported last match.

I didn't even get mad because he clearly saw what I was doing wrong and he was pretty much telling me "This could be you if you practice more" and yes, though I lost (close match), can't help but admit that he used Ike really well. Asked the dude if I can play a couple of more rounds with him and he agreed, and he even let me friend him so we can practice in the future.

-------

But I know what you mean. I don't understand why people would add insult to injury playing the character you lost with the first match. People kill me with their inflated cyber ego....

This had also happened to me recently, although I wouldn't say it really irked me. I got two stocked when playing as Mr. Game & Watch the first match, and next thing I know my opponent switches to him, same color and all. Thing is, I beat him twice after that when I switched to King Dedede (one of my mains in Sm4sh) and left.

I did not know if he was trying to be insulting or if he was just a Mr. Game & Watch main that was showing me how it's done.

I actually try not to assume the worst when that happens though. Although it may seem insulting I'm sure most don't do it for that reason. It's kind of why I always shake my head when people complain about ditto matches, or when someone switches to their main when playing against them. Truth is they could very well main that character too, and there's no rule that forbids them to play as said character just because you play as them. I'm not going to avoid my mains because someone else plays as them.

In fact, I kind of appreciate it if someone switches to my main sometimes. You can learn a lot of things from the other person and get hands on experience. Also ditto fights can be kind of fun sometimes as long as the opponent is respectful about it.

I can understand though if someone is obviously trying to insult you, such as what happened with @ 9 90007000 . Some people just don't have anything better to do sometimes so they'd rather try to spread salt everywhere in For Glory.

I'm with @ KirbCider KirbCider , FG dittos don't really bother me at all. Maybe it's just because I main R.O.B., and seeing a R.O.B. on FG is a breath of fresh air sometimes

Fukcing partner in 2v2 loses one stock and decides to give up and jump off the stage 8 times. Pissed the fukc out of me because I had 6 fukcing kills in that 2 minute match.

I dont care about spammers, douchebags, dittos, taunters, or rage quitters. Its the fkking ******** partners I get paired up with that gets to me.

People that don't understand what character has to approach. If I'm playing a character with a projectile and you're going to sit on the other stage at the start of the match and not approach with non-projectile characters like sonic, little mac, falcon or DK, then I'm going to sit at a safe distance and spam projectiles until you do. So many people rage when I do this, they think it's always the other person's job to approach them. They'll flash me a "SPAMMER" tag and quit. Seriously? LOL. What, I'm supposed to make this an up close fight when I have the advantage at range? Please. Learn how to play the game. So many people that complain about spammers are clueless. They think the other player is the one camping and stalling the match when in reality they're the one doing it.

Same here. Ditto matches are very much fun and exciting. I once had a guy who dittoed my Peach because he was clearly having fun with me, or maybe wondered why I always picked her for the past six matches. Even though I 2 stocked him, he took the lost very well and I even told him in the lobby after our match that he was fun and gave him a pleasant "Take Care" and left.

In fact, I kind of appreciate it if someone switches to my main sometimes. You can learn a lot of things from the other person and get hands on experience. Also ditto fights can be kind of fun sometimes as long as the opponent is respectful about it.
Mines was exactly as that @ KirbCider KirbCider . Respectful. How I know? I saluted (taunt) at the beginning of the match to let him know "no hard feelings" and he saluted back.

----------

Oh, there was one incident that recently grind my gears in FG 4 player Smash. I became the target of a Taunt Party. Yup, happened on Monday night this week. It is rare that something like this occurs in FG 4 player smash when I've seen too much of it in For Fun. But I am seriously starting to worry because ever since Tourney mode launched, the majority of competitive smashers moved there. It's been dull in FG 4 player smash since and all the casuals are moving there. I don't mind those who go there if they want a taste of competitive gaming, but everyone else who likes the ruin the experience of competitive gaming is just downright aggravating.

Like seriously, I started off in For Fun matches. I was casual. The only reason why I became competitive is because in every lobby and match I've entered became a taunt party. I got fed up. So I ended up going to For Glory because I wanted to HIT people! Not wait out the entire 2:00 minutes for the match to end, hop into a new lobby and match, only to experience the same thing! -_-

Actually, I met this guy and he played Ness and first, and then switched to Falcon, (I was playing Falcon too) and we played really fun falcon dittos for over an hour!!!

Let's just say partners in team FG who get salty when they lose so blame, well their partner. Seeing things like, 'WOW PARTNER' or 'NOOB QUIT' or 'NO HELP' from one of the opposing losers just makes me shake my head. Like okay dude, we lost. It's not the end of the world.

I mean I know there's some 'troll' partners who hang back and jump off the stage and SD's for literally no reason. I've had partners like that before and it's irritating but I don't 'insult' them through my tags. I usually end up sticking around for another round or two to see if they're still playing like a troll and leave if they are, obviously (even if they aren't my partner for that round since it switches around anyways).

So yeah this isn't quite as 'grind my gears' worthy as my other post on the topic of embarrassing/salty mock dittos since it's 2v2 and I don't take it as seriously as 1v1 and more often than not I'm quite loud and dramatic in 2v2 anyways. 'No Mac wait for me! I'm coming to save you! Don't die!' Yeah. But obviously you can only take so much of a partner goofing off before you're like, 'Seriously? Please just fight.' lol

I swear FG :4falcon:players have the biggest ego I have ever seen. When they are not spamming and abusing the dash attack and grabs, they are insulting you in the CSS. This happened twice in less than an hour.

Yes ,I get it, you beat me with your unbeatable strategy of dashing at me. You are reinventing the meta of Captain Flowchart.

Here's a new one: So I ran into this guy with a horrible connection yesterday. I nearly beat him while testing out Charizard, but the lag got me twice and he pulled out the victory. Being the a-hole he is, he then switched to Charizard (you know, the mark of a true jerk). I made the mistake of going back into the match, but I figured I could avoid the same mistakes. Again, a very close match, but two huge lag spikes resulting in missed inputs doomed me.

Okay, so I figured if he wanted to play dirty, I'll switch to my main. I did it and humiliated him (taunting wasn't even necessary considering how bad this was). After the match, I blocked him and left to face people that don't use potatoes as modems. This morning I find several harassing Miiverse posts and he even saved the 'Zard ditto match and uploaded it to YouTube.

Wow.... talk about getting under someone's skin! Why do children (or those with childish attitudes) take For Glory so seriously? He got his lucky lag wins and then I managed to survive the lag with my main and he loses it. I actual wonder if he was implementing a 'lag switch' which is why he got so paranoid about the loss. I can only imagine what goes on in these people's personal lives that makes them use Smash to justify their self-worth as a human being. Just thinking about it actually makes me feel bad for them and hope they can get the help they so desperately need.

You say this yet it is evident that he got under your skin pretty badly, and blocking suggests you took it a bit too seriously as well. Honestly sounds like 6 of one and half a dozen of the other to me.

As for lag switches, this suggestion doesn't sound any less ridiculous the more I hear it.

I tried searching the video, but the only Charizard ditto on For Glory uploaded within 24 hours did not precisely play out how you described it. Regardless, that is one thing that "grinds my gears" in For Glory. I do not like mirror matches very much. Mostly if they try to switch to my character, I do not care about blind dittos.

Funny, I can't find the video now. Maybe he deleted it since I saw a lot of people calling him out in the comments section. Either way, that didn't bother me, I just found it funny. I'm surprised he didn't save and upload the video where I destroyed him in less than a minute. lol

Also, the ditto matches are the truest sign of a poor sport. It happens if you beat or nearly beat their main. It's a way to show dominance over you. "Hey, I can be that character, too!" or "Hey, look, it's not so difficult." Of course, if they lose, it's no big deal because they were just trying to make a point.

I rarely loose dittos, at least when I'm being my main. Of course, someone switching doesn't always mean they're just trolling, but I'd say 90% of the time that's the case. I've personally run into other Doc players while testing out a character and then switch to see how I stack up. Other than that, I never switch to the other person's character, it just looks pathetic whether you win or lose.

This thread is for posting about things you've encountered (did you not noticed that?). I found the incident humorous and sad and was curious if anyone else, in a thread designed for such sharing, had encountered a similar incident.

I did not, however, go to his Miiverse page and send harassing and inappropriate message on everything he's ever posted. I blocked everyone with a bad connection and that taunts on For Glory, it's just my policy. Comparing the two is laughable.

The lag switch thing isn't so far fetched, to be honest. It's a real thing, there are even tutorials on how to do it. I have a wired connection with great speeds and this guy was located in a neighboring state. Most likely, though, he just has a bad connection and a bad attitude.

After googling those... wow. Unfortunately I feel like I have to concede the point after finding a site selling them with multiple 5 star reviews.

people who pick up my character in a salty run back are great because it's obvious they have put no work whatsoever into that character and try unsuccessfully to mimic what I do

even worse when I give them clear examples of things to try and they just dont. ikes that just throw out fsmashes everywhere. what are you even doing

Sonic. Always Sonic. The character is a blight on the game. No reason there should be a character that is designed so poorly as to be a complete chore to play against. Sheik is better. ZSS, Pika, and Rosa are better. But Sonic is the only one that's broken from a gameplay design standpoint. I would actually be in favor of a patch that removed the character completely from the game if it meant I never had to play against Sonic ever again or hear that stupid buzzsaw sound effect.

There was this one Sonic I've fought in Tourney mode FG 1v1, and all that butt-hole ever did was spin-dash right and left. I had a tough time dodging his attacks and the match was soooo close, but I ended up losing anyway. When I was getting star KO'ed, that blue vermin walked away as if my fight with him was clearly nothing!

We had a very close match! You barely won, you jerk!

....Sorry, I don't hate Sonic mains. Just my fight with them is so obnoxious.

I just beat a crappy Link that kept trying to grab me. He changed his name to "GETALIFE" and left.

Beating someone once = no life apparently.

Hrrrmmm, strange.

A friend of mine and I were playing some 2V2s a few days ago and went against these guys who tea-bagged after every KO. When they won the second match one of them posted "GETALIFE" as their tag. Kinda makes me wonder if they were the same person.

Then again I don't remember either of them playing as Link.

Did their mii have a beard and a blue shirt (not sure about the blue shirt but I'm pretty sure the guy had a beard)?

People that complain about nonexistent lag or even just complain about lag in general. If you want to leave just leave, I don't care what your reason is.

I faced this one Marth player that was really good and he beat my Meta Knight. Of course afterwords he goes for the typical ditto match. I beat him, and then he complains about lag and leaves. The connection was about as good as it gets on For Glory, but I mean, whatever keeps your ego intact dude

I've had a lot of humiliating replays shared of my gameplay on the Share mode, 90% of which are shared by Captain Falcon players. I think you can see why I despise anyone who plays as him XD

Captain Falcon, to me, is playing the game in Easy Mode. I'm not saying he's the best or anything (because he obviously is not), but everything he does is easy to pull off and potentially devastating when it connects. When I play against one, I will be doing a bunch of great stuff only to be easily grabbed and easily hit by a random Smash. Most Falcon players just seem to randomly throw out moves in hopes of hitting. His grabs have to be the easiest to pull off, or at least tied with Luigi. Whenever I see a Falcon whiff a grab, I wonder how that's even possible. It's ridiculous that so many characters have such low cool down periods on their moves. If you throw out Smashes, grabs, dashes, and other moves, you should be more easily punished with any character, not just speedy ones.

Oh well, that's balance for you. And even though I complain, it's still ultra fun to work exponentially harder to defeat some characters. Very rewarding.

Captain Falcon is one of those characters I like to play, but hate playing and fighting against on FG. In free for alls with friends he is fun. One on one Final Destination, forget it.

Mediocre Falcon players amuse me to no end. Especially how they try so hard to apply fair or dair when I'm offstage. Just today I fought a Falcon who tried to dair me desperately, despite me being so high he wouldn't even reach me with double jump. And the other day I was fighting a Falcon who kept SD'ing himself in the process like three out of four times - the fourth time I footstooled him with King D into his demise. He left then, he.
And even more: I often start FG 1v1 with Ness and everytime I face a Falcon player I blindly put out a PK Fire, like saying hello. 1 out of 2 times the Falcon player immediately rushes into it, granting me a free dthrow combo, sometimes it works consecutively in a series of several matches against the same player.

The more I fear competent Falcon players. You never know until they hit you right in the face.

I hate when players with really good connections leave early, or when people leave after one win regardless of how many times they lost. Ego maybe.

Falcons are super hilarious to fight in FG Free For Alls. They crack me up trying to have a personal 1 vs 1 with either my Link, Peach, or Ike.

Somehow, today i learned that someone constantly beating me and only sticking around until i win one aggravates me immensely. Now i want to know if that was me getting better or just a fluke and i don't get to find out.

I think FG aggravates no matter what the circumstances.

Ganoncide always bothers the hell out of me cuz at least 8 times out of 10 i'll fall for it. Beat the hell out of em only to get grabbed at the end t_t. Other stuff that bothers me that has been said. Hate constant roll dodging and avoiding me.

people who taunt after having taken one stock, regardless if they are winning or not. You haven't won yet so why are you acting like you have?

Also people with ranged grabs (ZSS, Lucas, Link etc.) who when they are losing just sit by the ledge and wait. This is even more annoying when you are a melee character and you can only go at them with aerials.

When people call you out after a EXTREMELY close match then leaves. They think their SO cool after the fight, getting full of themselves REALLY quick, no matter how the battle turned out to be or what character you use against him/her. And crap like that tends to grind my gears... hard!

Oh, I got a pretty good one. Just happened last night, and man, still can't forget how flustered I felt.

Okay, so I decided to hop onto FG 4 Player Smash and it started out with one guy, myself, and seconds later two other people showed up. The first match I chose one of my mains, Peach, and pretty much outplayed everyone.

So after I win, as everyone was choosing counter picks against the winner (which is always the case) in the lobby, Player 4 changed his name tag to "OVUL8".

.........

Now, I was the only female there (it's rare to even spot another female gamer in For Glory. Most are seen in For Fun), and I knew he was talking to me. When I read that comment from him, I actually had no words or even a counter comeback for something like that. I didn't know whether he was calling me out the fact that I'm a woman and I started out with a female character, or trying to make a provoking sexist joke. HONESTLY, I don't know! So second match, I chose my primary main, Link, and Player 4 picks Bowser. This time I struggled because Player 4 was actually pretty good with Bowser, not to mention I had two other fools to worry about. Anyway I lose, landing myself in 3rd place, and I thought about switching back to Peach but I was like "nah, they're not going to make this easy for me. They saw how I won with her the first match".

So, I pull out Ike.

Keep in mind, that I still have my struggles with Ike as I'm learning him. But man, I really wanted to get that mother-f***ing Player 4 because he hadn't change his name-tag, even THOUGH he won the second match. Didn't bother saving the replay because I knew my mistake (I got too aggressive and kept chasing Player 4) and got an idea how everyone operated. So third match, man... I was dominating! I don't know what it was that got me to fight the way I did. That time, I wasn't even thinking about getting revenge, but more like protecting my integrity. I milked the most points from Player 4 and I taunted when I K.O.'ed him the third time. I still got everyone else. That was important too.

Replay saved.

So after I won (best two out of three matches since I got there), I pulled a "^^" smile and left.

Called it a night after that. I know this is the internet, and everything goes on the internet. Usually when I'm insulted like that in Smash I tend to throw out a "Don'tBeRude" tag or just leave and go to a new lobby. Ignoring works too. But last night's case was special.

I was personally called out by a uncalled comment.

EDIT: Sorry this turned out long. Can't help being descriptive.

Honestly everything. For glory will undoubtedly piss me off in one way or the other by the time everything is done.

-Playing scrubby s**t-talkers piss me off. Do you guys even know what spam is or do you just say random s**t when you lose constantly?

-The random match where there's an input delay, where I'll SD twice just to end the match. The moron across the stage(who has to be dealing with the same thing right?) almost always just starts taunting. I'm doing you a favor ****.

-The guy who taunts after a kill they didn't earn. More of a personal one, seeing that I'm the only one that knows that my character was supposed to do an up-smash and instead did that dumbass jab because of the lag. Still it angers me to no end that a weak-ass kill makes you feel like you belong on a highlight reel.

-The player that you'll have a few great matches with, and the last one they win, taunt, and leave. Just why? Why ruin everything?

-Bad connection. Over the last few months since my internet changed, a lot of it's been my fault, but it still bothers me, because it's not consistently bad, it happens at the most random, ****ty times possible and ruins everything. God I hate lag, I don't think it's ever worked to my advantage once.

I don't know why I keep going back.
