What artistic changes do you want for Smash?

What artistic changes would you suggest for the Smash franchise? I know none of us are involved in the development of Smash (much to our chagrin), so it's kind of a non sequitur, but I was thinking the below and was curious about any other thoughts:

Fox / Falco's Shine: I would change the shape. I love Hexagons, don't get me wrong, but I think for a pseudo-3D game like the Smash series, it should be the most-round regular space-filling polygon, a rhombic dodecahedron:



The best part is, if it's oriented right, it's still a hexagon to the frontal viewer. Which still leaves great visual pleasure

Ehhh... I mean conceptual art ideas, not graphics / textures. Of course we want vivid, sharp, HD, detailed, nice graphics -- that always evolves over time, and every gamer wants better graphics on any game. I mean conceptual art stuff here, sorry if I wasn't clear.

Like I think it's genius that Samus' jump activates her shoulder boosters. If that wasn't in the game, that would be a great conceptual suggestion. Drawing blanks on more right now; but if I could think of all of them, a reason to converse wouldn't exist :-P

I think Melee's roatating images are fine as-is. I think the graphics are fine too, I just texture hack as a hobby in spare time.

your shine idea would be great.
If you hold down shine then it should spin around falco/fox like it does in the gif you showed only A LOT quicker, would look sick.

maybe **** like pieces of ground breaking off when you dair or stomp the stage.. that would be cool.
but ofcourse just visual, would not affect the stage.

I like how in brawl when you charge up a smash attack it actually looks like it's getting stronger

It does,

I think, though I can't 100% remember, that when the Elephant is on the verge of turning around, that's when randall comes out of the respective side of the stage.
It desyncs with randall after a minute or so, because their movements don't match up perfectly.

I think it would be sick to have the shield crack and break in addition to getting smaller with consecutive hits.
Or to even add a bit of gameplay depth to it, have the shield break away and get smaller in the spots that it was actually hit.

there should be a specific laser damage animation, there are more spectrum than fire/ice/electric ya know?

even physical attacks should have some kind of affect on the target body. nothing really happens artistically when you land a move.

i think it would be pretty sweet if when characters walked in water their clothes would get darker and they would drip or something. also if fireballs/breath left like a charred mark on the ground or something

this.

would add soo much hype to someone putting on ruthless sheild pressure in a tournament.

The movement of the elephant on Yoshi's Story should accurately correspond to Randall's location at all times.
you know you can actually remove the island in yoshi's so that you can see the cloud at all times. just a little bit of vertex hacking : )
