Weekly Matchup Discussion - Snake

Of course.

How many frames can Snake delay the ftilt for?
First hit out frame 4-5.

Not on shieldblock:
ASAP- hit frame 16.
Last possible- hit frame 35.

On shieldblock:
ASAP- hit frame 22.
Last possible- hit frame 41.

There's a 19 frame window where a hitbox could be present.

ive played our best snakes a lot lately

i used to suck at the matchup but i'm back to believing it's 55 - 45 snake favor as opposed to the original belief of 65-35

maybe 50-50 though.

2 things used to **** me over in the matchup. 1 being jumping. Jump rarely and as a mindgame. Jumping to double side b is usually a bad idea if you're anywhere near within mortar slide range. Snake's will take advantage of your jump patterns.

The other thing was approaching. I approached wayyyy too much. To beat snake, I've been doing a lot of ground side - b to buffer grab, as well as a lot of pivot grabs. It's easy to gimp him with spikes, fsmashes or fairs. Don't pick up grenades, it usually ends in your death.

The best thing that ***** a lot of snakes is to punish him -every time- he's falling from the air. I've noticed the same thing with the mk vs snake matchup - approaching is very hard, but if you camp correctly once they are in the air, you must carry the momentum to his death or at least a high as **** percentage.

The cool thing, too, is most of the gay counterpicks against olimar are pretty gay for snake, too.

Also, to a snake who's not used to playing against olimar, out of his down throw hit up to get up normally and instantly up tilt, you'll see

this is actually pretty good, you don't really want to approach snake, but you also want to approach him a lot. follow him while he's in the air and grab as he lands, don't jump when you are near him as mortar slide really will **** you up. and wait for him to attack your pikmin, he is extremely laggy because a lot of snakes use utilt to kill pikmin, which gives you about 2 seconds of a free grab. just watch for those small moments, on anyone

Man, with all this talk, makes me feel like going rob vs snakes nao, I feel that snakes doesn't have that much on Olimar but I'm clearly outnumbered here.

WHen you look at the advantages and disadvantages in a weighted manner, it's goes pretty much even. It's 50:50, maybe 55:45.

i agree with everyone who says the match up is either 55-45 or 50-50, it's somewhere in there, but i dont think snake has the ADV.

i hate his tilts, hate hate hate lol i run so much form his tilts it's silly!

I would like to stress olimars to watch out for his recovery paterns. generally they will second jump and up special to get way in the air kinda above the stage, but if you see their spacing we should use our up special to poke him out of the sky and cause him to try and recover again, it's a good gimper mind game on snake if you space it perfect.
