I'm not the one that came up with it so I don't really care. Problem is if we have a vote most of the TX/OK people would vote for it and since they're the biggest population...

I think the big problem is that we're not all that together as a region. There's the TX/OK/LA (which is technically Atl South but they post here anyways) section, then the other states mostly keep to themselves. So it'd be hard to make everyone happy.

Unless of course we name it something related to poop (already been done), or boobs (not all that creative and possibly offensive to our 5 or so female members)...

Guys, why is our region split like this? I know that distance is very big, but why should we let that stop us?

Look at our forum. Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Oklahoma all have one thread for their entire state (Arizona has 2/3). Meanwhile, HALF of our social room is a certain part of Texas.

IIRC, Arizona has a community and is actually doing okay for itself. Le Thien will have a once in a blue moon Oh Snap in Oklahoma. Other than that, there hardly anything worth noting. NM doesnt travel simply because they refuse to play MK?

Louisiana is really chill with Texas/Oklahoma and constantly stalk their threads and occasionally cross the border. And there not even a part of the southwest. They just decided to host a regional tourny and it's looking like that tourny may get alot of attendees over time.

Heck, Kansas even went to Hobo11 to get the chance to see M2k Azen DSF Endrees.

None of the 4 corner states really travel. And it feels like our social room is split in half. I think we should do something about this, as a region. Perhaps our own regional tourny, centered in our region (North Texas/North New Mexico comes to mind). Something!

EDIT: I mean no disrespect to any states, I just feel as though we need to band together as our own forum.

I'm currently attempting to resurrect the NM smash scene (we get 40 people at a tournament if we're lucky, we're rarely lucky... T.T)

Honestly, there just aren't enough people that play these games AND network themselves into the competitive scene for us to do anything.

I'm attempting to host a regional in the relatively near future, but there are so many happening before Genesis I think it may just be smarter to host it afterward: would your respective regions show up?

I've told other states that I have no problem convincing the rest of Texas to travel to say Utah, NM, AZ, etc as long as you guys are hosting tourneys with fairly decent turnout (You can understand us not wanting to travel for a tourney with, say only 40-50 people unless it was maybe in Oklahoma just because they are so close to at least Dallas) AND notify if possible some of us ahead of time so we can make time for it in our schedules.

And yeah I understand why people don't want this to be Drew Specific, I honestly forgot this was the Southwest forum, not the Texas and part of OK and Kansas forum lol. We can redo a poll.

I saw that movie way too much though lol all throughout Mid/High School lol it was the only movie that kids never finished watching....and I never did see the end of it until 10th grade yet XD 6th-most of 10th I just got to the dog chasing around the boy after he got the ball.
