Thats fine if you think they are better than me.

which they arent(I would still have to prove this to be fair).

but the point is that based on tourney, they havent done better. and Kamaji doesnt get a pass just cuz he is from EaWA. Ive outline it 4 times, based on our TP3-tp4 time frame, ive done better than all of them. Whether or not they are better. I thought stefan was better than vish, but he didnt have enough tourneys in for that timeframe, also I think vish is better now.

No offense but if you are seriously trying to become a panelist, be more concrete with your reasonings.

I no longer care. The more I see this kinda stuff it makes me sad. Arguments based off personal opinions, that arent opinionated matters. Such as I think x is better than y. Its really only in a situation when tourney performances/history/mm are tied that you resort to personal opinion.

I dont care if we have a pr thats top ten and we have 6 good smashers and 4 one handed bandits. The one handed bandits get put on because they are next in line based on the set criteria for being on PR.

There is too much discrimination and bias within the WA smash scene. Its not competitive because its not run correctly. Laziness Polejocking and friendships all seem to stand in the way of whats right, and the truth. I dont care if you are my best ****ing friend, If you are spitting bs im not going to take your side over somebody elses.

There is a huge absence of organization and for the community to be the way we want it that issue needs to be addressed first.

The list just needs to be made, and it needs to be made based on what ppl were told it would be made from. When too many big wigs get involved the politics of pr become iffy. Remember, this is just a game. Its suppose to be fun. It can only be truly competitive when the competition is on an even playing field. FD *****es. Nobody in their right mind would look at this and feel motivated to be apart of it.

Thats why the scene is falling apart. Its barely held together by the fact that melee is a great game. We should treat it like one and quit all the bull****.

It's pretty much impossible to give concrete examples below Vista's placing if you want to talk tournaments. Vista has one tournament win vs Vish and below that it's pretty hard to tell.

i think it's time for a classic

PR TOURNAMENT HOOOOOOO

people who want to be ranked and those below our top 5 (or whatever is blatantly clear) should enter - it'll be pools - just like old times.

we used to make jem enter then leave and go get pizza and stuff.. yesssss

seriously

we'll figure out a tournament day that people can attend and do a pool between all the people who want to be ranked to figure this stuff out.

sorry eastern washington but you're too far.

i originally typod far as fat.

just sayin.

not true at all.

vista also got 5th at GC. 4th if you include teddys forfeit. and he beat me convincingly in mms.

all you have to do is look at the players tourney history. If they werent there that counts against them if its close. The point is to promote attendance as well. It makes ppl want to come, do well, get better.

You placed high at tp 3 ie beat ppl, but essentially since then, you havent done anything special. but you were there. Also 2nd round pools pound 13th at tp4. Idk who you beat etc etc

It doesnt have to be amazingly impressive at this point. Its comparative. you look for the best one. It really should be hard. you directly compare. Look at as much data as you can. placing, who you beat/lost to and matchups and attendance.

If x does equally as well as y but y is more active. You place y over X unless an actual tie breaker is in place such as y beat x in tourney, or they mm.

Also make sure you look within the time frame history as ppl get better, learn, and the list should be active and current not focused heavily in the past or over a long span of time.

Its 2010 *****es!!!!!!!! Meleee hypeee

we shouldnt have too because this would be the second time we have ****ed up panel debating and essentially saying we ****ing suck as a state at being a smash scene. We have all the data and the list should just be made from our tourneys of this 3 month period.

Im ok with a round robin but if we do one then Its not gonna be 5-10. Its gotta be 1-15. competing for ten spots. maybe anybody should enter but Idk if we have time restrictions. so really it needs to be 1-13 since we have only been talking about 13 ppl for pr.

Since you're all too dumb to base anything off of anything at all, I'll do this for you.

Using the last 4 melee tournaments I got medals for on AiB as a point of reference (mostly locals). I register for every melee tournament.

This list is about tournament performance, not money matches and ****. Thats why we cant put stefan on here. Hes been to like one tournament ever.

December 5 GC
1st - Eggz
Bye
Defeated Deva
Defeated C!Z
Defeated Bladewise
Defeated Bladewise

2nd - Teddy
Winners' bracket
Defeated Dr.Mario12

Defeated Vish
Lost to Eggz

Losers' bracket
Defeated C!Z
Lost to Eggz

3rd - C!Z

Defeated JamnT0ast
Defeated Rohins
Lost to Eggz

Losers' bracket
Defeated Toph
Defeated Rohins
Lost to Bladewise

4th - Rohins
Winners' bracket
Defeated Oreo
Lost to C!Z
Losers' bracket
Defeated Paff
Defeated Kamaji
Defeated Vish
Lost to C!Z

5th - Vish
Winners' bracket
Defeated Kamaji
Defeated Silent Wolf
Lost to Bladewise

Losers' bracket
Lost to Rohins

5th - Toph
Winners' bracket
Defeated Paff
Lost to Bladewise

Losers' bracket
Defeated Oreo
Defeated Silent Wolf
Lost to C!Z

7th - Kamaji
Winners' bracket
Lost to Vish

Losers' bracket
Bye
Defeated Deva
Lost to Rohins

7th - Silent Wolf
Winners' bracket
Bye
Lost to Vish

Losers' bracket
Defeated Carlos
Lost to Toph

Oreo, Paff, Deva, and Carlos also attended this tournament. They didn't beat anyone significant, only losing to already ranked players and only beating unranked brawl players. Kamaji beat no one who should be weighted, so this tournament alone doesn't have any positive impact on his ranking. Silent Wolf, who "doesn't ever choke as hard as shane can choke" according to someone, lost to Vish and Toph. Rohins continues to show that he doesn't lose to anyone but C!Z, who is now gone, and the top4. Teddy does well but I **** him, as per normal.

At welcome back Ka Master, Banana lost to MrB0jangle and Silent Wolf without beating anyone
I lost to Ka Master and Silent Wolf

At January GC
Paff beat Zerostar, and Grim after losing to Sagemoon
Banana lost to Kamaji and Vista's friend, though Kline didn't enter.
Vista beat Kamaji, Vish, Sagemoon and Bladewise. I know only that Teddy was a forfeit.

At GO3, Zeru's performance
Winners' bracket
Defeated Siglemic
Defeated Hero
Lost to doom_train

Losers' bracket
Defeated Yardo
Defeated Artifice
Defeated Kamaji
Lost to Juce

Kamaji only beat brawl players

At R3, my performance
Winners' bracket
Lost to pewpewu

Losers' bracket
Defeated Goku
Defeated Fly Amanita
Defeated Pajamas
Defeated Falcomist
Defeated DEHF
Defeated Dr Midnight AKA Kira, who beat Lunin and PewPewu
Lost to zhu

Unfortunately, Kline didn't beat any weighted players at TP4.

Factoring all of this information, I pose the following list

1 - Ka Master
2 - Eggz
3 - Silent Wolf
4 - Bladewise
5 - Vish
6 - Toph
7 - Rohins
8 - Vista
9 - Zeru
10 - Kamaji IMO maybe i guess

tournament placing doesnt matter. its who you beat.
If someone would like to tell me who oreo, kaos, or b-mello have beat, I'll hear it out.
but I think 1-9 are pretty aboslute given my logic isn't shotty (which it isnt)

Also a fun observation, Toph, Vish, Otto, Rohins, Ammon and myself are the only power ranked players to attend national tournaments in grip :D

Also for future reference, if you disagree with something, post some facts that shut it down. Don't just be like "youre dumb" or whatever the last 4 pages of bull**** have been

after u come to bc and beat our players, live in bc u will be ranked on BC's PR =)

alllllso, we got about 55 players this time, around 35 for melee and 25 for brawl with overlaped players and 12+ setups which is pretty decent. although not everyone is going to enter melee singles there are other events such as lowtier, falcon only, crews and for those who arent entering singles.

i thank you paff for driving your way to BC and i would like you to show our community how dedicated WA smashers are. for those who cant come this time due to passport or other reasons, the next tournament is April 3rd and 4th. I am expecting 50 players local/island, and 8-12 more players from northern BC, overall 60 players. Shane Otto Teddy and Ammon, try get the passport ready before the date and come to it!

Yea, I smile every time I think about it lol.

but lets move the discussion back into the WA melee boards.

I think shanes list is the correct one so no further discussion is necessary.

Well ****, I would've put Zeru on there in a heartbeat if I knew he played. I've just only seen him at one GC and not at Tourneyplay so I assumed he just un-quit for like a week and re-quit.

Glad you put Rohins on there.

I just realize Chip wins every Melee tournament in Eastern WA, so I'd prefer having Chip on over Kamaji
Tight. <3 Chip. he makes the PR look more legit. And I know he's good enough to still be on there. I just figured he didn't enter tourneys or something. That's why I asked a few times if there were tourneys in EWA (I don't know **** about EWA).

soo where do we get the large audience from?

We need to organize better. better planning of tourneys and more effort from our TO's and key smashers within the scene.

Just gotta quit half assing **** and set standards that ppl can expect and rely on. Make ppl want to be there, not begging them to come.

A simple mm isnt going to do it if they are already not that interested, plus they got the youtubes doug.

but commentary would be tight

In the U district there is this bubble tea/asian drink place that ThePrime hosted a tourney at.

Apparently it was really ****ing tight, ran well, low cost, and bubble tea/food was mad close.

But unfortunately the owners there didnt really like the tournament atmosphere so it wouldnt work out for future events. It was a 1 hit wonder.

Put me back on if I perform well in upcoming tournaments. Putting me on there because "you think I'm still good" isn't really fair to people who have been attending.

My most recent tournament in WA was back when I teamed with Otto and didn't do singles. Prior to that what I beat Vish in a set and lost to ciz twice, that was back in Dec. Tournament before that I didn't enter singles.

It's not just because I've been in FL, I had poor attendance when I was there. If you want to include my OOS performance I got last place and 17th out of 40 at my last two tournaments here in FL xD

Keep me off the list.

Didn't Toph say he found a room or something at the HUB a couple of months ago?
I remember because I was like, "Sweet!"....but then nothing happened
