The only issue I have with the voice acting right now, especially with Pit, Rosalina, and Kirby, is that it gets repetitive. I hope this is fixed before release. Pit's voice is awesome, but hearing the same sounds made each time he gets hit can be a bit grating. It doesn't sound natural. Rosalina and Kirby do it too.

Greninja also has a get-hit scream so long that sometimes it's still going even after he rights himself on the ground.

I appreciate all the yelps when characters get hit, it's a nice detail, but I do hope they mix up how frequently the same exact clip plays. I don't want it to end up like the Soul Calibur II days - though I loved that game, I had to play it on mute because of the constant screaming.

I know it's just a small detail, but I'm really disappointed in the re-used voice clips from Brawl.
This is Nintendo's biggest game of the year, and they can't even get Charles Martinet to record new lines for it?
So far, Kirby and Pit are the only veterans I've noticed with re-recorded voice lines.

This complaint also applies to the victory themes. Bowser is the only veteran with a new one. If we don't get new ones, this will be the first Smash Bros. ever that re-uses victory themes which just seems really lazy to me.

Don't really like it in general. Most of the characters' voices right now are reused from Brawl (which is normal for pre-release demos), but some of the new voices are dumb.

I never liked Bowser's and DK's animal-like sounds. Kirby's new voice is too high pitched (even though it's the same voice actress), Pit's voice actor feels like he made random noises, and Fox is... eh, you know.

Hopefully the Brawl clips are just placeholders for the demo.

They recycled his clips from Sonic Generations. Hopefully not final.

Are you serious? Pit's Japanese voice sucks compared to the awesome English one.
I really don't like his new voice actor from Uprising. So if I'm going to have to repeatedly hear him yelling, I'd rather it be in Japanese, since random yelling sounds more natural in Japanese than in English, at least to me.

So far I like it. Pit gets real annoying real fast though with his screams, as well as Greninja. Everyone else sounds pretty good to me.

I agree for the most part, but now that I'm getting a chance to watch the ComicCon stream, Fox sounds really bad now.

I'll revive this thread because it was on of the rare threads that I liked because everyone respected eachother's answers. I think Zelda's (if she gets new voice clips) voice actor from Melee should return and redo her voice. It sounded a bit off in Brawl.

Might as well post my thoughts.

-I sincerely hope Greninja's voice stays like that. It's fine by me and I wouldn't want the VA from Diancie to come along and remind me of the anime.
-Pit's voice is miles better now. No argument there, although it's slightly annoying.
-Love how Robin and Lucina keep their VA's.
-Keldeo seems to have his Vic Mignogna screams from the Kyurem movie every time he uses Secret Sword. It's fine, I guess.
-I swear to god I hear Arceus scream when he is summoned. If that's his raging nerd voice from his movie I'm going to kill someone.
-Fox's new VA sounds off. I know it's his 64 VA, but I'm not driven by nostalgia. Worst offender: When he says Landmaster.
-No complaints about Sean Schemmel back for Lucario, Kenny James back as Bowser(ever since Bowser's Inside Story, I can't hate the guy), or Kirby's new redone accent.
-I HATE Toon Link's voice. It makes Pit tolerable by comparison for me.
-Pikachu's voice hasn't changed since Brawl. It's fine as it was.
-I find myself amused by WFT's dissonant serenity in her voice. Yeah, let's ignore the fact that there are things like a ninja frog or a yellow sphere thing with extremities fighting, that's just trivial information, I wanna do yoga.

Pretty much it for my thoughts.

Right now, a lot of the voices are placeholders. Voice acting is generally one of the LAST things done in development. Since this is a crossover, it wouldn't take very long to get in contact with the original actors to reprise their roles.

All the Brawl voices are likely just being used to make sure things work. Some characters with repetitive sounds probably don't have all their lines recorded yet. Between E3 and SDCC, Rosalina got more voice clips and I THINK Donkey Kong had some voice clips done by Takeshi Nagasako, his actor for other games.

For those of you wondering why would they still not have the voices ready by July, it's likely that along with the E3 build that the SDCC build was a few months old but slightly younger.

Thanks! I really do enjoy your input, it gives me hope for the voices. Lol

I played Xenoblade Chronicles in Japanese so Shulk's English voice sounds super weird to me after 100 ish hours of xenoblade.

English voices on Fire emblem characters still sound so weird after many many years of Japanese voices Marth and Roy.

I personally think Lucina and Robin's English voices are purfs :3

I think Shulk sounds hilarious in that really campy way.

But I went back and listened to him in his original game and oh god I'd probably have to turn voices off during gameplay if I ever played it:

"I really like our vibes!"
"Yeah Fiora, ain't that the truth?!"

Holy **** that's annoying... Didn't know the game did that.

(sorry for double post)
(wtf, why is shiet being censored? =S )
I don't think you are supposed to censor dodge like that.

Yeah, the characters in xenoblade are kinda noisy, but it's something you get used to when actually playing.

I will say, it took me a while to get used to Shulk's voice in the reveal trailer.
After hearing him in the game being all moody and angry, hearing him say "now I'm feeling it" and "now it's shulk time" kinda scared me for a second. Good voice though, and I can't wait to hear more. <3

I'm perfectly fine with the Xenoblade Chronicles voice actors, especially Shulk's. I love them to be honest.

Sonic's new voice is horrible

The one before sounds to relaxed, you don't get the 'gotta go fast' feeling.

Best VA for him is and always will be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RLFPqzTvSc

But the horrible VA plays its roll to annoy the player, 'Sonic speed' sounds really annoying perfect taunt for a cocky character like Sonic.
AT least he'll be less annoying, w/o the "You're too slow!'

I still love how Robin says "TIME TO TIP THE SCALES" Work of beauty right there...
SOOO true, Fire emblem voice acting is on point right now

Pokemon's is good as well, I love how Greninja's voice is kind of high pitch, contradicting his stealthy ninja like attitude lmao

I actually found Xenoblade's voice cast flowed pretty well over time. It took me a little time to get used to at first but I was fine with it after a couple of hours into the game.

Maybe so in the cutscenes, but in-game, the amount of cut-in is like 100 times worse than Sonic Adventure 2.

My tolerance when it comes to voice acting is pretty high to begin with. Then again I'm also a fan of the Tales of series that has the same kind of style of battle cut in with almost every special attack performed. So I guess that kind of repetitive quoting doesn't bother me at all.

Rosalina's gasp is hilarious.

Wii Fit Trainer's is pretty good. Though, does she still give health tips? I loved that idea. That's it, feel the burn. Stellar!

Zelda has the same voice! I sure hope it gets renewed.

Pit...amazing,

Oh and GRENIIIIIII is so funny :joyful:
