That's right! I'm hosting another Mini Smashtality at my humble home. The last one was great and we had a pretty good showing, even Zanguzen came out of retirement to enter the tournament! LOL. This tournament will be full of excitement and amazingness. I ask you to be respectful in my house, play fair, no johns, and please BRING SETUPS (and mario kart wii if you have it ^_^)!! Here is the info! BTW, this is for melee (awesomeness).

Mini Smashtality 2!!!

47 W. Shawnee Trail
Wharton, NJ 07885

Directions:
If you're coming from RT 15 north, you will go over a BIG hill and pass a traffic light and then pass a Shell Gas station. Take the next exit after that to "Lake Shawnee". Make a left at the stop sign and drive for a while. After driving for a bit you will turn left around a blind corner, make a left to my house which will be blue and have a basketball hoop in the driveway. You've gone too far if you pass the basketball court.

Parking:
There are limited amounts of parking so it would be a really good idea to carpool or take public transit. When you first get here, try to find parking near the basketball court which is a little further down the road from my house. If there is no parking there, then try parking on the side of my street.

FOOD!
If the weather is good on Saturday, then I will be serving BBQ food from 2 - 4 PM.
On RT 15, you will find McDonald's, Wendy's, Subway, Chinese Food, Dunkin Donuts, Frank's Pizzeria and Adam's Bagels. So there are plenty of options :)

Cell #: 973-476-4217

Date: Saturday May 17, 2008
Time: Registration 12:00-2:00 Tournament begins around 2PM
Doubles first
30 min break
Then Singles

Entrance fee:
Singles $10
Doubles $10

25% will be taken out of both pots to cover for the electric bill and stuff.

Prize:
>16 people = 65/25/10
<16 people = third place gets their money back and first and second place will get 70/30 from the remaining pot.

Melee rules! (copied and pasted from Smashtality III, too lazy to edit, might be pools or brackets, depends on how many people show up. .)

₪ BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLERS - The store will not provide you one.
₪ All events will be double elimination
₪ Four (4) stock
₪ Seven (7) minute time limit
₪ Singles seeding will be random with some courtesy to crews - you will be spaced evenly as to prevent playing each other in the first round. One of the two criteria must be fulfilled in order to be favored - You must have 3 or more people in a group hailing from the same region, or you must be part of a crew. Teams seeding will be done randomly.
₪ In case more than 64 people come, Singles seedings will be determined by pools - each player will be assigned to a pool, and each pool will play 2 Three (5) stock matches in a round robin. If a player wins a match, he must inform an official of how much stock he had remaining. Players will continue to play with each other until each player has played all of the other players in the pool twice. The lowest ranking players will be cut off from each pool, so much so until it meets the conditions of a 64-man bracket. All stages for pools are picked randomly, and all character selections are double blind pick for the 1st match. In the 2nd match, if a player wishes to change a character, both players must again use double blind pick.
₪ In a set, character selection for the first round will be blind pick - both players must whisper their character choices for that match to an official, and then immediately select those characters afterwards. The stage select for the first match will be chosen by random select or may be agreed upon by the players. Random select will be used if there is any disagreement on stage selection. After the first match, the losing player from the previous match must announce their choice for the next level or elect to have the next level selected at random. Once the stage selection has been announced, the winning player may choose to change their character. Once the winning player has chosen his character for the next match, the losing player may then choose to change characters. After the stage and characters have been set, the players play their second match.
₪ Stage Strike Rule - Each player or team can choose one (1) stage to remove from random select AFTER all players have selected their characters and have entered the stage select screen. Players may change their stage strike each time they enter the stage select screen. (DO NOT ACTUALLY REMOVE THE STAGES FROM THE RANDOM STAGES LIST)
₪ Dave's Stupid Rule Modified - The same stage cannot be played twice in a row during a set
₪ Each round is best of three (3) matches; Finals are best of five (5) matches
₪ In the event of a tie at the end of the time limit, the player with the most stocks wins the match. In case both players have the same amount of stock, the player with the lowest percentage wins the match. If both players have the same percentages, the players will quit the SUDDEN DEATH, set the stock to one (1), and start a bonus match on the same stage. If the bonus match goes to the end of the time limit- despite whatever the amount of stocks are left - then both players/teams will be disqualified from the tournament.
₪ Items will be turned OFF
₪ In the event of an equipment malfunction, the match will be restart from the last known position or from any point in the match that is agreed upon by the players.
₪ Glitches used to stop your opponent from controlling their character or indefinitely freezing them (Mewtwo's Soul Stunner, the Ice Climber freeze glitch), or any glitch or trick that freezes the match or makes it in any way unfinishable are banned. Using them will result in the immediate forfeit of the match.
₪ Tactics such as Peach's Wallbombing and Jiggly's Rising Pound are allowed as methods of recovery or to maneuver around the stage. Using them (or any similar tactics) to excessively stall a match, such as dropping below levels intentionally and stalling underneath, is banned. Judges will be on the tournament floor and can be called in at any time to enforce this rule during a match.
₪ Wobbling is banned
₪ Nintendo Standard controllers only (any type of programmable controller must be inspected by a store official/TSA member). Likewise, controller modifications are banned. If you are caught using a modded controller you will be disqualified from the tournament.
₪ BRING WAVEBIRDS AT YOUR OWN RISK. It will be your responsibility to find others with Wavebirds and sort out the frequency issues. If you bring a wavebird it is highly suggested to bring a normal Gamecube controller in case your Wavebird malfunctions.
₪ Random Stages for Singles: Final Destination, Battlefield, Fountain of Dreams, Dreamland 64, Pokemon Stadium, Yoshi's Story
₪ Random Stages for Doubles: Final Destination, Battlefield, Dreamland 64, Pokemon Stadium
₪ Stages Banned: Hyrule Temple, Fourside, Flatzone, Brinstar Depths, Icicle Mountain, Big Blue, Termina Bay and Yoshi's Island 64.
₪ For Doubles, Team attack is ON and life stealing is allowed.
₪ The Mages DQ Rule is applicable when a player is late for a match and it goes as follows:
2 Minutes Late – Warning
4 Minutes Late – Loss of first match of set
6 Minutes Late – Loss of set
When leaving the venue, please let me know and if there is a way to contact you. If you do not give me any notice, and your match is being called, the Mages DQ Rule will come into effect.

Bring Setups!
Wiis, GCs, power strips, tvs, vcrs, etc...

Lets make this EPIC!

You're hosting this on the same day as Montage's tournament. Competing with another venue only hurts them both. The last thing I want is for TSA NJ to not show up at Montage's tournament due to this. If you picked another date, you could get my group to come to your event.

I'm going to have a Melee tournament at Montage's tournament if enough people show interest. Just come there and show interest. XD

When I take the train to the penn station, it usually takes about an hour and a half. It is like 50 min by car.

If you are planning on taking a train, take one to the dover station sometime before noon. If multiple people are coming from NYC try to come all at the same time so I don't have to take multiple trips :)

Pakman, fawk school, melee takes more priority lol. jk, if you cant come thats cool. i tried to give a little more than a weeks notice and made it on Saturday so more people have time to finish up their school work on the weekdays or whatever.

I'll take a potato chip....and eat it!!!
Yo Sensei....I'll probably be able to make this one. If I do, it'll be with Dane, which means he'll want to play 64. You give him one of those and he'll be happier than Eggm at an all-week Smashfest/tournament.

*UPDATE*

If you bring a cute female friend (they don't have to enter the tourney) I might reduce your entrance fee in half!

Stay tuned for more...

Plus one is melee and the other brawl. Therefore theres a tourney everyone cares about and one no one does.

Plus everyone who posted in this thread.. tec0..rain..Eggm..Scar would not go to a brawl tournament. I don't see the issue.

Jfox I'm down for a carpool, I'll drive this time.

Update!!!

Eggm and pockyd are right. I can't fit like 30 people in my house, the most I can have is like 16~20 and thats pushing it. Go to the tourney you want to play in, I'm providing a choice for people.

Another *UPDATE*

Due to the my parent's concern of the energy bill, I have to increase the entrance fee of singles to $10 and 25% will be taken out from both the singles pot and doubles pot. The doubles entrance will remain the same.

If you are coming just for friendlies, you gotta pay a house fee of $5 and that will go towards the electric bill and stuff. So it would make more sense to just enter doubles because you are paying $5 and playing in tourney.

The issue is that Inui is 10 minutes away from me and LK, so LK will be driving me to his tournament and I'll miss the Melee one because of that. M2K sounds like he wants to go to both and apparently Inui does too.

I don't think that the electric bill is really going to be much higher just cuz of some tvs and GCs. I think thats kinda silly...

And I'm not sure why everyone is so worried about choosing. There is another melee tourney the following weekend, so if you miss this, go to the tunes one. Its not the end of the world.

Honestly, I don't see more than 8 people really making it to this. I'm not sure why it isnt just a big smashfest.

Jfox, the house fee is also covering part of the food cost (probably not even all of it), so some money is probably coming out of our pockets cuz some people will probably go for seconds, thirds, or even quads O_o

I'm trying to get some ol skoolers back like suicidefox, DA DAVE, zanguzen, steve w. This is going to be a amazing.
