So, this is the much talked-about Z, and its pre-evolution.

I'm moderately disappointed. The prevo, Zorua, the Evil Fox Pokemon, is okay... but Zoroark, not so much. :/ I was expecting something more interesting, like a werewolf, as was speculated.
I guess we'll see how the rest turn out, though.

I still think these two look like Digimon, especially Zoroark. <<

This is like, the 6th thread about this on SmashBoards. I'm not even kidding. There's the fifth gen thread in the Poké Center, it's also being discussed in the Social Thread there.

Then there's now 2 of them here.

And there (were) at least 2 of them in the Disco Room before god-knows-what happened and people made like, 30 threads today and I can't find them anymore.

I'm waiting to find a "ZOROARK SHOULD BE IN SSB4 GUISE" thread in the GBD.

Okay we get it, some people are anxious about fifth gen and think these designs are promising, some think it's fourth gen all over again and aren't excited, and other people are angry at Pokémon for still existing without having a massive revolution and becoming a different game entirely.

It could have been discussed in one of the 3 (or 5 if you have Premium) pre-existing threads.

When I first saw this in Blue, I laughed.

But then I began to get angry whenever I saw it, because it made me feel like I was playing a bad game.

Either way, as Firust said, this is one of the many new threads about the 5th Generation of Pokemon.

My assumption is that it isn't going to be a good generation, and, sadly enough, I believe it will be the last one. The 4th Generation had just begun to fail, until this comes along. I didn't like the 4th Generation, because some of the Pokemon in it are just embarrassments to the series.

Well, yeah. They've always looked silly, I was just making a comment about how (I personally think) that the fourth gen mons look the silliest. But I forgot about Golbat in blue, holy crap that thing is freaky.

You can deny that the art style has shifted over the generations.

I personally prefer the art style for the first two generations in general, but I'm perfectly content with the latest pokémon, and there are pokémon I love and loathe in every generation.

Fun Fact:

~1000 different Pokemon conceptions were created in one time period, not all of them are colored, probably, but they're at least inked out.

The Pokemon style has not shifted over the Generations because they were all created at once. Rayquaza could have been there instead of Mewtwo, Zoroark could have been 2nd Gen, so on and so on.

I hate people who diss the newer gens, because all the 3rd, 4th, and 5th gen Pokemon could have been put into the first two Gens, but weren't. Nintendo's order of which they release the Pokemon affects nothing on the art design or games themself.

I'm pretty sure there is no link. There was never an actual interview link it was just something people spread. Its possible that they may have created 1000 pokemon but it is very unlikely he made most of them before R/B/Y.

They have all the drafts and stuff.....

I remember hearing about this on the nets and IRL, so.... thats just what I've known. I know there was some reliable source or something for this when I heard it at one point in time, but I wouldn't know where to find it now, it was years ago when I heard this.

I'm fairly sure its a rumor. Notice how the quality of the newer pokemon has increased and there not just round balls with a face/head. I'm fairly sure that they may have made a lot of drafts that got into Gen 2 (ho-oh comes to mind) but I doubt that the 3rd/4th/5th gen were already planed for.

Since this is already in the 5th Gen Pokemon thread on the Poke Center, I'll just shorten it since people don't care for detail about this here as much as PC.


Pokemon are more complex because the graphical power of the games are better. They chose M2 and Mew as legends over Dialga and Palkia because they could show off the Mews with 8-bit Graphics better. They wanted the maximum out of their sprites, so back then, they went with the simple drafts. Now that graphics limits are non-existant, they can go all-out on their sprite designs/complexity.

Pokemon has always looked ********. People are always talking about the creativity of the 1st and 2nd gen monsters and i'm just sitting there thinking "why are ******** things called creative just because it was the first ******** gen"? All the after gens are called uncreative when pokemon has always had moronic looking pokemon.

I'm going to buy soul silver and the 5th gen game.......after that I think the pokemon series will probably lose it's luster and they'll have to switch it up for me to stay interested.

I don't really think Pokemon ever really wanted to "shoot for something bigger and better" every time they made a new game. They just want to make a game that people will buy.
