For the past year I've always tried to wavedash backwards -> turnaround grab. I ALWAYS failed. Today I realized it was because I was JC grabbing each time. If you just do a regular grab then it works quickly and easily.

This is my ultimate john. Everyone I've ever lost to should know that the result is now skewed. Now that I have discovered my ultimate flaw and corrected it, I am now better than everyone at UT. So the new ranking list for UT is as follows:

1) Matt (MT)
2) who cares?

Carry on my friends. I played a Houston guy yesterday and I'm already getting better. By Fall 2010 be ready for some upsets brought by yours truly.

Sure. I'll be sure to wavedash backwards -> turnaround grab you into oblivion. $2 MM then ok? That's 10 chicken nuggets on the line.

I just realized I owe some people money. Kal remind me to pay you back $5 and then Rohan remind me to pay you back $2 whenever I get the chance.

I assure you that isn't the case (I played it 20+ times) >_>

Last thing I actually played was Super Mario Galaxy. I didn't change or touch anything other than CDs, so most likely random dirt just got into it while switching. Oh well, after I send it in i'll be able to play brawl (/more importantly Metroid Trilogy) finally.

MPT has to be the best value I've gotten out of a Wii game, other than Brawl (though thats only courtesy of hacking).
3 highly acclaimed games all in one package, plus an awesome poster and metal box

1 just felt like frikin Super Metroid in 3D, albeit still a good game
2 was okay, just weird
3 had other hunters (the bosses weren't just behemoth alien or robot things), voice acting and other planets. You weren't just burrowing through one planet like almost every other Metroid game. And I like the fact it felt like a merger of Metroid and Halo, cuz I wanna play Halo but suck *** with the XBOX controls. With the Wii controls aiming and moving around is so easy, you just point and shoot. Go ahead call me a noob, I don't care.
It's the only Metroid game that I've felt motivated to actually re-beat.

He doesn't actually want people to come cuz he's afraid we'll get angry and break his stuff.

Tried SMG2 today, felt like Super Mario World in 3D, though I also haven't liked any Mario games since SMW, not even 64.
Can't wait for Other M!!

I actually still have no idea where I'll be in August, study abroad committee is slow as hell.
But I definitely have some remaining hours before I can graduate, I may even be there for next semester.

Is anyone down for a tournament next week?

I miss everybody. :(

We should do commentary again! I'll try and make it actual commentary, and not just ranting. Who wants to be my co-commentator?

Oh man, we could have a tournament for it! Winner (unless it's JF, **** that guy) gets to be my co-commentator. I hope it's Reqy.

I can't bro, it's my friend's 21st birthday. Also, I hate you.

What time is this **** starting? My friend's party doesn't start till 6:00, so I could head over there now and play some smash for a few hours.

I'm definitely gonna miss having Mitchell as my Melee teacher (no offense Clay).
He rarely criticized me when I screwed up, and always commended me when I did something well, that's what I look for in a teacher. His words of encouragement helped me exceed what I believed to be my full potential.
Honestly, I wouldn't have gotten back into Melee were he not there.

You know that constructive criticism is kind of a necessity towards improving, right? You can't learn if you don't know what your mistakes are, and 90% of people can't identify their mistakes.

I'm not trying to stir **** up. It just sounds like you prefer a teacher who never criticizes you, which I think isn't ideal. And you know we'd all be happy to lend advice and help you improve if you would be willing to play with us.

Does this mean you're now interested in improving?

I wouldn't say never, but, it does frustrate me when someone criticizes me over a mistake I already know I shouldn't be making.
For example, screwing up an edgehog by doing the wrong move. I'm already pissed at myself that I screwed up, then the criticism makes things worse.
But I didn't mind when he criticized me about DI-ing out of Marth's dthrow chain.

The thing is even if I am interested in improving, its already too late.

I meant that I may not be going back to Austin, Kingwood has no smash community, it was easy when I wasn't under my parent's jurisdiction, now I am again.

haha, I already do that, it only gets you so far.
Nothing beats training under a seasoned smasher.

Another thing about Michel, I knew he was so much better than me, there was no reason to feel that I had to try and compete with him, and that helped me relax and focus.
It was also nice to have that sort of break between matches during when I could assess what I did wrong. Then I'd typically return with a stronger performance.
I don't think I could have lasted playing all night, were it just one person over and over again.

Well Michel is marginally worse than me so I just **** the hell out of him in 100% of friendlies and tournament matches.
