I never thought of Japan as being the protestor kind of country. I doubt there's even that many there that have any serious stake or stance by what goes down in the US.

In the UK maybe but Japan not so much.

The clamp down isn’t due to protests but they do occur. There are usually protests from anti-military groups whenever a US servicemen kills a Japanese national. You hear it every now and then.

It’s more for protection and counter-terrorism ad well as a way for Tokyo to test its security protocols for the Olympics next year.

First of all: KingOfKoopas has been thread banned, his only real crime is that what he says isn't socially acceptable to this thread specifically. Him and I are on two sides of the political spectrum, but we can actually tolerate eachother. Nor is he a white supremacist, but it's acceptable for you to say such a thing, so you won't be punished for calling out another member.

Secondly, you know what, yeah, him, I, and others would likely be banned quite awhile ago if we kept posting here. But we stopped, unlike Fay who won't stop posting offtopic memes.

And finally, you and other groupies have controlled the social status of this thread for quite some time. Just because the mods haven't made it resetera yet doesn't mean that they've gone mad. Normally I might defend Faygoshill, I prefer more lenient rules and think mods can be quite harsh. But it's pretty rich to see you guys calling the mods corrupt when if you guys had the mods do your bidding the site would be more so authoritarian.

I think the first point has already been discussed to brevity and back, but I can't help but talk about the two other points, in which honestly, you seem to want to rile **** up right at the exact moment.

Don't act like taking the high ground about the whole "oh, if we posted here" ****, cause here's the thing - this is a social thread, too. So really, Faygo has all the right to be a memester. It really ain't against anything to go off on various topics, if this also works as a social thread.

Now, about your third point. Could you please elaborate further? Because in all honesty, there are no "groupies" here. There is no control here. People - whether it'd be ClaTheBae or other popular users here - are here because we're active. How the hell are people "controlling" the thread? This is where all the regulars come to, and the reason why a lot of us have been hard on the moderation of this site recently is because one, we don't like it, of course. And two, we wanna see it get fixed.

So honestly, all of these points are pretty moot, if you ask me.

I hate that so many people are leaving because of what happened. Because of what that man did.

Alright y’all. This is it for me. No angry comeback five minutes later this time. I’m leaving the boards.

It’s been real. This place was a real emotional pillar for me in the past. Unfortunately, it seems like that time has come to an end. As you all know, my mental health has dove for a while due to my growing financial struggles and other external stressors. Between several things today, I’ve decided that this place is both unsafe and uncomfortable for me to stay in.


You’re all great people. Please take care of yourselves. And stay strong.

Maybe I’ll come back someday, but certainly not any time this year.

This is a Smash forum that was created so fellow Smash fans can gather around and discuss the game series they love so much. Right now, a tragedy has inflicted this place. This isn't the time for division and bickering at each other. Now is the time for this community to show it's strength and support it's fellow members.

Tbh, I kind of do feel like there a groupies here. The past few days with nonstop memes and media posts were very reminiscent of what the boards were like back in Smash 4 days. Activity like that was eventually acted upon and while a lot of users were upset about it, many just ended up following the rules and were fine. When stuff like that picked up again, it essentially killed the Smash 4 social thread.

Only now that similar stuff is occuring, we have people getting angry and insisting that there's mod conspiracies out to target certian users. As someone who was annoyed back then, it's become frustrating now becase it's like the rules have to change for some newer, popular users.

I feel moderators owe it to themselves and to their community to have a positive relationship with everyone involved and to maintain a healthy environment, and any shortcomings on that front should be addressed post haste.

Considering distrust of moderators is part of the discontent occurring here lately I feel that it's especially important for that relationship to be improved, and if discussions have to be made with administration as to the culture their appointees have facilitated then so be it. Mods aren't supposed to be the villains, and it's deeply unfortunate whenever flaws end up causing serious issues like this.
