No other fighting game community is exactly like this. Sure, all fighting game fans are excited about characters, but the sheer amount of characters and the attachment that people have to these characters outside of Smash is what I believe inspires so much blind fanboyism and impatience when it comes to character reveals for this game.

Too many fandoms. Too much nostalgia.

Marvel vs Capcom also has its fair share of drama over character picks, but it's uncomparable to Smash.

The Smash Bros fanbase is made of mutliples fanbases who have all their own problems, combining them all into one is just asking for a flame war inside a small hotel.

Because Smash is a crossover fighter and not its own isolated universe.

If you want to see even remotely similar character hysteria look at Marvel vs Capcom and especially the major cuts from Infinite.

In my eyes, a Tales character is for sure gonna be our next Bamco rep, and I do think we're getting another one.

Idk, I still have my doubts on Souls representation tbh, and I think Heihachi has his own hurdles like a deceased voice actor, and a moveset that Sakurai had a hard time implementing in the past

I wish they'd remake it for the current generation. The most recent one is on PS3, which is nice, but I gave mine to my sister so I can't really use it.

At least it's not like Tales of the Abyss, which is stuck on 3DS.

I ain't one to spoil the fun but despite Bayo and Pyra making it in okay I think they'd draw some kinda line at wearing pretty much nothing.

Symphonia is on Steam, isn't it? TBH with how well Vesperia did I'd be pretty surprised if Symphonia never got ported to Switch. That's kind of why I haven't played it on Steam yet; I'm holding out for a Switch port, lol.

Abyss 3DS was the way I played Abyss, and while I don't mind it, I would definitely like my favorite Tales game to be on a console more comfortable for the kind of game it is.

The thing about Souls that everyone is seeming to forget is that it's not owned only by Namco. They only publish the series in certain regions; it's a co-ownership between Namco and From Software, who develops the game. It's similar to Kingdom Hearts in that way.

Not to say it's impossible, but unless Namco really wants it like Square Enix evidently really wants Dragon Quest, I can't see them going through all the trouble.

A Tales of collection with Symphonia 1, Symphonia 2, and Abyss for Switch would be great.

There's a lot of conflicting info on who owns Dark Souls, but according to Miyazaki himself, Bamco owns the ip

My guess is that Bamco owns the IP itself while From owns the trademark, which is why Slashy Souls wasn't straight up called Dark Souls.
