I get it. I thought it was good but didn’t compare to other finales. I think the biggest problem is that
Mina wrote them into a corner by being unstoppable.

An hour would have really done it justice.their mission was too easy feeling as no one was really a threat. The pudding also removed the hardest part of the realm of magic.

However the former queens offering support was touching, especially seeing solaire approval of eclipsa.

But they should have done an extra half hour that gave us closure with all the big characters, like Tom and marco’s group. An ending with them all together realizing what happens would be cool. Also there could have been some more focus on the aftermath, whose running mewni? What happens to all the worlds now, etc.

Mariposa and meteora getting a reunion would have been nice. Ludo getting more would be good too. And maybe have it end with star pondering what happened to all the magic based realms and her and Marco mentioning how they’ll figure it all out together with all their friends now.

Just some thoughts off the top of my head. It had some touching moments but was short. Overall it wasn’t too bad.

Also damn heckapoo literally committed suicide.
You're not alone. Not only was the Realm of Magic thing really rushed (Mina was taken down by a single unicorn, come ON, at least give us a longer scene of her and Solaria together), but after the magic is destroyed, nothing really felt resolved. I mean, it's bad enough they wasted a few minutes with Ponyhead rambling on about what the side characters are doing (seriously, who cares what TALON is up to?), but then we get that final scene with the portal fusing Earth and Mewni together, and then... that's it.

Nothing about what the world is like now that two dimensions have fused, no real closure for anyone's character arcs (what are Moon and River up to? How are Eclipsa and Globgor hanging on? Mariposa and Meteora never saw each other again after their journey through the Neverzone), just Marco and Star meetin' up, and boom, roll credits.

Also, the fusing of Earth and Mewni seems really dumb. Now the people of Earth have to deal with monsters, and I'd say they'll be much more hostile towards them, and they also have to deal with a ton of new dimensions and people suddenly merging with theirs.

But hey, at least two teenagers can still be in a relationship.

(the scene where they cut to the dead magic high commission was hilarious, though)
A half-hour runtime was way too compact, I definitely agree that a full hour-long finale would've done it more justice.

Totally agreed that few characters got any closure. Eclipsa and her family? Barely acknowledged. Moon and River? Barely acknowledged. Meteora and Mariposa? They aren't seen reuniting. Add Buff Frog and his children to that list, they're glad to see Star, and that's the last we see of them. Kelly and her friend, too. We saw them going off into a fight, and that's it. And yet they gave us a fairly lengthy description of Talon's whereabouts, also. Every supporting or main character came back for a notice or cameo, at least, but that's it...It felt very condensed and unfinished.

One thing that bothers me is that...while the idea of destroying all magic could've been a good twist, it's held back by much of the show's established lore. The fact that there are so many beings in other dimensions made of or heavily reliant on magic, that Star's own, sentient spells are beings made of magic, and that the MHC's members are all made of magic...The show kept trying to push the idea that Mewni needed to change, and it was pushing the idea that said change required the destruction of magic (because it's supposedly way too powerful to fall into the wrong hands or whatever), but I just feel like magic being destroyed actually did more harm than it did good. Star basically committed more than a few genocides across the multiverse, which is hardly, if at all better than what Mina was planning on doing. Worse yet, the show barely acknowledges this outside of the MHC's demises (we don't even know what happened to poor Reynaldo...And what about Father Time? He was completely innocent in all of this) and neither Star nor anyone else acknowledge or dwell on the consequences of it. It's ridiculous. I'm also personally disappointed that the MHC never redeemed themselves (except Hekapoo to an extent) and so I didn't really care for the fact that they're all dead (though Glossaryck's stance in this episode was a real highlight of his character, I did like his portrayal in the finale, overall) but that's another issue entirely that I won't get in to right now.

Oh, yeah, and speaking of Mina...I totally agree that she was underused, too. There was no damn fight whatsoever. Meteora, Toffee and hell even Ludo had badass fight scenes at a few points. Along with that, Toffee brought Moon to her darkest hour and more or less succeeded in his plans, Meteora had an emotional, heartwrenching scene with Eclipsa before her defeat, Ludo went on a soul-searching journey and ultimately developed into a better person, and Mina...had a very brief encounter with Solaria's ghost who stared at her with contempt and ignored her pleas for help as Mina was very quickly and soundly defeated by the evil unicorn monster. What the hell. So much underused potential, very little emotion, and hardly any action or even stakes.

The merging of dimensions was something a lot of people speculated, and I'm not sure how I feel about it overall...But with how little time was left to explore the idea, it leaves things too open-ended for something that is almost certainly going to cause tons of chaos and problems, culture shock and more race conflicts included. I don't like the way it was done. Open-ended endings can be good, but this one was not.

TL;DR, I fully agree that no characters nor their arcs got any real closure, I agree the finale needed a longer running time, I think it was ultimately a bad or least far more complex idea to destroy magic rather than a good idea as the show kept trying to make it out to be, and finally, I agree that the merging dimensions was very poorly executed.

I at least liked the Past Queens uniting to help the "current" Queens in their goal, and Glossaryck's writing for what situation he was placed in, but that's about it. This simply wasn't a very good ending to the show. And I recall reading somewhere that Daron Nefcy already knew how she wanted her series to end, way in advance. If that's true, then the finale at least should've gone way better than this. For something she had planned from the beginning, this ending was poorly thought out and very rushed. I really wanted to enjoy this, but...I just couldn't, not very much, anyway.

Actually something dark no one paid attention to in the star vs finale:
Poor Reynaldo. He just wanted his father to love him and be on the commission again. He got wiped out of existence damn.

I wonder though, is star really over?

If phineas and ferb is coming back for a movie, we could get one that focuses on the aftermath of the star finale, and give it a good closure.

I stopped watching Star after season 2 but judging by what I've heard I kind of dodged a bullet lmao
The finale was not worth the investment I put into the series.

From what I've seen Star feels like it should have got another season to properly wrap things but they got axed and rushed everything.

Something that would have been cool in the star finale is:
If tofee’s sport actually helped the queens destroy magic somehow to really close his story out

What Hinata said.

The show was fantastic up until the very last set of episodes and the finale. The writers messed up several ideas they were trying to push, and most of everything else that could've been resolved (other side conflicts, and numerous characters arcs) wasn't, simply because they rushed everything, on top of that.

From what I've seen Star feels like it should have got another season to properly wrap things but they got axed and rushed everything.
This would've solved many of the finale's problems... but not quite all of them. More time alone would definitely not be enough to resolve the biggest plot point of all in the finale.

I never watched that show, but I know it's probably much better than Konosuba from what I seen.

There was a Joker cosplayer sneaking around the convention center and whenever I spotted him he just disappeared into the crowd.

Once I actually managed to find him in my head I was just thinking of the Chocolate guy from Spongebob.

And I really hope GoT's finale proves you wrong on this front.

Nothing personal, though, rather because I just really want the show to end on a high note.

...Eh, then again, not even legitimately good finales please every fan. So you'll get to repost it with good reason no matter what. :V

it's like if a chef served you seven courses of delicious gourmet meals then for the eighth course he brings out an empty plate and takes a massive steaming dump straight into the middle of it

those seven courses might've been the best ****ing food you've ever had but as soon as the eighth comes out you're thinking more about the pile of **** you just got served than the meals it took to get there

you're probably also wondering what the hell's going on in that kitchen
