Well, maybe since Mania is out, it was probably too late for me to say that. But still, they're separating classics and modern Sonic games. Come to think of it, I think it was unnecessary and would only cause people to stay with the series as a reason to come back, but that's irrelevant. Now you said it, people who don't like the modern games at least can always stick with the newer classic games and let others enjoy the modern games.

Still, I am personally not opposed to booting others out if it was necessary.

ok so like, I never once said people can't enjoy the things I dislike. I have better things to do than worry about what people like. I don't know what this "let people enjoy things" rhetoric is coming from when I wasn't doing that at all.

Generations absolutely! Colors is fun, but getting the Chaos emeralds is bs and the final level is kind of junk.

Yeah, Generations was great

I loved pretty much everything about it with the sole exception of Planet Wisp, the final boss, and a couple tedious challenges, but other than those, solid game.

Classic Sonic's levels were pretty good, but imo, Modern Sonic's were the highlights. Especially Seaside Hill, City Escape, and Crisis City (Yeah, they actually managed to make something from 06 very fun and solid.)
