Well let's see if we can break 76 of the unique characters first before we start discussing 100.

In terms of that quote, I'm pretty sure he's talking about the short term for this season of DLC. Sakurai has gone on record for saying he works in the moment. Now will Sakurai leave after this run? I don't honestly know because the dude just wants a break from what it sounds like. I think if Sakurai did leave, Nintendo probably will not staff another team on the basis that it's Sakurai's project. It's not exactly smart, but Sakurai literally made Smash Bros into what it is, so assigning other people to it could be risky or too much effort.

I believe that we are getting more than one fighter pass.
After all, Smash 4 had more than five dlc characters.

What if he agreed to make another season, but they gave him a break? Like how tv shows have an off season for the actors and creatives to do other things. Like, if he announced that another pass was coming, but he was getting a half-a-year or even year long break in between, i for one would be completely fine with that.

Or he could just stay to 15 and run himself ragged for the sake of the project. That works too.

So you're saying that if Sakurai wanted to they could make a Season 2 and the Website wouldn't be a problem?

Obviously they wouldn't hold back a Season cause of the Website being a pain but it's not like speculating that we're only getting 6 cause the Website only shows 6 actually means anything.

Honestly, I could see a potential 2nd/3rd frighter pass without stages (so from series already in the game) and a few characters being echoes.

This could work exceptionally well with first party characters since they would already be well represented. At most, they would get new music into their pool of already made stages like Corrin. With new series, they naturally just need a new stage to put their music on, but characters like Piranha Plant has proven that some fighters do not need a new stage to fit in.

My suspicion points to echo fighters being included on the base Fighter Pass, if the five stage limit is anything to go by.

EDIT: I am probably wrong about this statement.

Probably. We don't know. As I posted in post #181,061, the user in question said the DLC stage site was designed with only five stages in mind.

Hold on, this version's better. I noticed some weird yellow pixels around Joker's right hand in the other one, so I got rid of them.

I think everything points towards there being another fighter pass

-Sakurai seems a lot happier working on this game, no talks of quitting or working on other things like with past games
-Sakurai knows that this game can't be topped in terms of roster size and likely wants to make this game as good as possible due to that
-The switch is way more succesful than the Wii U so the fighter pass will be more successful than 4's DLC as well

I don't see why we wouldn't get 2, even 3 fighter passes

anyways additional fighter's passes would be sick because they're really the only realistic way to get my most wanteds, even if they're all still pretty damn unlikely even for a second pass
