What's making Doom Slayer, an American-owned ******* of gore, a seemingly highly anticipated fighter? Bethesda is as West as it gets.

Man, are you REALLY saying that? Like, not joking? Because Snow fall in hell was supposed to happen before Snake, Cloud, Ryu, Ridley, K. Rool, and Joker.

You can't just dismiss characters like this anymore. Anything, besides maybe a non video game character, is possible.

All Japanese video game IP characters. King K. Rool yes while created by an American company is still an Nintendo character and from an Japanese owned video game franchise and yet again ours truly Nintendo.

In the millennium that we live in I am INCREDIBLY surprised people still bring this up.

A meeting between NoA and a 3rd party is EASY and obviously the Communication between NoA and NoJ is nothing as well. Why is it such an impossible feat for a Japanese company to make a deal with a Western one? This argument makes no sense to me.

Okay, I'm confused about what causes a stage to be considered not suitable for more than 4 players.

Big stages like Metal Shop X 's Zero-Two aren't usable in 8-player, by MY stage "Vertical Vitriol" is.


For the record, here's what Vertical Vitriol looks like:

This stage is barely big enough for 4 people! Seriously, with 8 players, 4 of them spawn on the bottom platform clipping into each other!

It's pure chaos.

Alright. I just need help with two more ideas before I can write Joker vs. Joker.

I need to come up with what DC Joker’s Shadow would be. And what his persona would be.

I can design a pretty fitting persona for the guy visually. But I can’t figure out what to call him.

And his Shadow... its hard because he basically IS a Shadow IRL. But I just might not have a good full grasp on the concept yet.

Not impossible, absolutely not.
Just, a bit more difficult in terms of say character negotiation.
Closeness is more of a big positive that helps rather than its absence being a negative.

Closeness between developers should be considered, after all characters like Snake got in due in part to Sakurai's friendship with Kojima and not to mention we know for a fact Sakurai often personally heads to meetings and interviews with companies to discuss characters. A plane trip to America/Europe for Sakurai is probably not as easy.

Anything's possible of course, and Nintendo is "making the selection" this time so they may see Scorpion being a smart choice especially with the anticipated MK11 coming out on their Switch.

I don't see Scorpion impossible, but just unlikely. If the games are not released in Japan, then how Nintendo developers like Sakurai are going to know about them to include into Smash Bros?

(I would say that if we get a 3rd party Western IP in Smash the most likely candidate in my eyes would be The Elders Scrolls with Dohvakin)

And because every time the rules are broken it's with a character no one expects, it's not going to be with any of those three because people think they're an inevitability.

Well first off, if you're going by Persona 5 rules, you can't own both a Persona and a Shadow.
Secondly, your shadow isn't named anything it's just your inner darkness made manifest, say "Shadow Idon" or something, not given an actual name like Arsene.
Third, personas within the games are often based around some sort of mythology, Greek (twice), Japanese, Picaresque. For Joker(DC) specifically, a really cool persona that could parallel his insanity could be someone like the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.

It's pure chaos.

It's more of a question of "how much ressource it take" than "how big/small it is". Your stage is really simple without any moving platform or the like, so the game allow you to play with whatever amount. My stage meanwhile had reached the limit, yes, on my first stage I reach it (that's why I didn't put all three wings 02 normally has. ), so it must apparantly take alot of ressource from the game I suppose. (the portals in particular take a surprising amount of space)

But hey, even if it doesn't make sense, that stage seem like the perfect stage to see CPU fighting each other. (Also, hey, thanks for the shout-out! Sort of)

Warner Bros. Interactive is a thing. They were one of the few companies to really support the Wii U.

You know blame this on the ****ing hype but I think Scorpion and Sub-Zero have a higher chance of getting in than we're giving them credit for. We always say, oh it's not popular in Japan so it won't happen but I think that it ACTUALLY could. Like, do I necessarily think it'll happen this Fighter Pass? No, I don't. If there's a second one though? I think either one of then have a DAMN good chance of getting in.

I just want that sweet Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat to finally come true.

I think it's unlikely, but to say it's impossible I think is a bit short sighted too. While Japan may not care much, the rest of the world does and the series is financially one of the biggest fighting game series, so it'll draw in a lot of people.

Ryu vs Scorp/SubZ is as big or almost as big as Mario vs Sonic, Link vs Cloud and the Mega Man vs Simon vs Pit Captain N reunion. Okay that last one isn't as important, but you get the point.

I like the mad hatter idea.

I don’t want to spoil how I want the fight to go, but I’m basing the idea off of what happened to Futaba, if I am understanding the story correctly.

The problem with giving a Shadow to someone like Joker is that he kind of wears his darkness on his sleeve. That’s what I meant by “what would his shadow be”. (Although, the wiki says the boss forms of the shadows actually do have demon names). If anything his “hidden darkness” would be the sniveling coward he was before getting dunked in acid......

That gives me an idea! Oh but if I say it it will spoil what I’m writing!
