Yes, Chrom is making a lot of top 8s in tournaments due to just how strong and well-rounded his kit is.

Unfortunately, that recovery holds him back against characters like Lucina, Peach, and Pichu.

To put it simply, Ultimate plays so it's better to not need to space and tipper.

Why is Lucina so much better than Marth this time around?

I've been away from the comp. scene for a while so this is a legitimate question.

Marth got none of his comboing kill confirms.
Everyone is faster making risking a tipping killing move too risky and very unsafe
Marth's aerials aren't safe on shield unless tippered
Lucina can gimp and fish for kills way easier due to not worrying about spacing.

Basically, Marth benefitted from neutral heavy smash 4 but now with everyone being faster, less combos, more momentum based gameplay, Lucina is far better at fishing for both damage and kills.

Most of Joker's basic parameters have changed. Air speed, fast fall speed, run speed, weight, acceleration, gravity, etc have all changed. He also doesn't have the rapid jab anymore.

I really don't expect any surprises, at least not until the very end of the DLC cycle.


I feel that from Joker-Pick 5, things are going to go fairly normal.


Things can change of course, but it really does seem like they're just focused on what we know about, for now.

well, even if there were going to be additional echoes, they wouldn't give them away by putting more than 4 empty slots - that's just asking for fans to set up false expectations.

Gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed that despite the instrumental version of 'Life Will Change' being used for Joker's reveal trailer, its not in the actual game..I actually would have preferred it to 'Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There' personally.

Given my encyclopedic knowledge of Persona I can safely say that she's going to be the Marie of this game but instead of bad poetry, she's going to write really shlocky Sherlock Holmes and Lupin fanfiction.

Also, she's gonna be the aeon arcana.

Yeah I just beat Joker's Classic and I do not get any of what made the final boss so special.

I'm sure the fights reference the actual game, but Master Hand on Mementos is nothing.

Well on one hand it does seem like that and they could totally plan on only doing Piranha Plant + the FP characters but on the other hand they wouldn't give away that there will be another Pass/Misc. DLC for new characters or even Echoes.

I agree with that if we get a Season 2 we won't know right away and while it's possible it's not very likely.

We wouldn't know anyways and if we ever got one we won't know about it for awhile so it's not a very high priority in terms of speculating.
