Though honestly, I expect a lot of non-fans to drop him because so far he's a really obtuse and high execution character to play.

You mean all the polls through Famitsu which only polls a few thousand (all Japanese fans by the way) or the CYL where multi voting was allowed (not to mention who knows how much voter fraud all across the board)? Oh, yes, very reliable.

Ah, well, that explains it since Smash probably accounts for no less than 80% of his popularity. Excuse me, but I think the man's overhyped.

Played Joker for an hour.

He's everything I could have ever wanted. He has Samus' Up Air, and that's my favorite UAir in the game. Having trouble figuring out the gun, though; anyone know what all the inputs for it are?

I honestly find Samus Up air to be my favorites as well.

We have a poll, the first FEH CYL poll, one where the results weren't manipulated with foreknowledge of guaranteed alts. Ike won the male side by a landslide, and was only beaten by Lyn...

See, Ike's votes were actually split between his PoR version and his RD version, meaning that if the poll were to use today's ranking of counting alternate versions of characters together, then Ike would win by even more of a landslide.

Do you know how popular you have to be to WIN a popularity contest AND have an alternate version of yourself be in the top 5?

I got all of the Persona spirits, I got the Mii Costumes with my gold coins, and more.
Joker is so fun to play.

One of, sure, but I don't think you can definitively say who comes out on top. There are too many variables. How many repeat votes did he get comparied to others? How much more likely are fans of older games to concentrate their votes (as seen by the greater dispersion of Awakening and Fates votes even with Lucina absorbing so many of them)? People also love to lump both Ike's votes, but then you run into the problem of how many people voted for both to hedge their bets? Probably a good number. No, CYL is an analyst's worst nightmare. It's too many numbers, not enough metrics.

Okay, so you don't like him. That's fine, but you can't just go full conspiracy theorist and say that he's not the most popular Male FE character when all signs point to the him being just that.

It says a lot that he tops those polls all damn time when BOTH Marth and Roy have been in Smash longer. You don't have to like him, that's ok, but evidence is evidence my friend.

Everybody got the same amount of votes, seems pretty fair to me. It's not a mystery who's on top, you can quantitatively prove that Ike only with his PoR votes is FE's 2nd most popular character, and with his RD votes FE's most popular character by thousands of votes.
