Right, but aside from the ponytail, which could apply to Jill or Claire or literally anyone else with a ponytail or nothing at all, there's no evidence specifically calling out a Resident Evil character in the same way as what Erdrick currently has. That was my point.

RE has significance, recency, Nintendo history, money making potential and iconicness on its side. It fits the bill of Nintendo's statements about wanting to branch out with their DLC choices. But so do a lot of other things. There's a ton we can't know about the decision making process for DLC and outside of one foreign text leak no insiders have hinted at it. So it's still in "wishful thinking" phase, though Joker certainly helps her chances in the speculation phase. And I'm glad for that.

I wouldn’t fret too much about “evidence” just yet. Without the “Brave” datamine, I think far fewer people would expect Dragon Quest, despite it being one of the largest JRPGs, and a top SE IP.

In addition, if speculation is right and we get Mii Fighter costumes with other companies (Geno with SE, Heihachi and/or Lloyd with Namco, Mega Man X, Porto Man with Capcom) then we could very well see it happen.

I mean, it’s a logical conclusion if we consider Monster Hunter out of the running.

for real tho, i'm not as broken up or devastated about it as my depressing greyscale memes suggest. jane skin or no jane skin, joker the fighter was always the main attraction here throughout speculation, and his implementation into smash is somehow a hundred thousand times better than anything i could've asked for or expected. i'll take that any day over a skin swap.
