i feel like people are kinda overstating mementos' potential viability with hazards off

for starters, that thicc top right platform is almost 100% not a drop through. that's already enough to not make it legal

second of all, the stage is too asymmetrical and weird to be fair to both players. the player who spawns on the right has a slope that they cam crouch on to low-profile a lot of moves, and a solid platform that can give them shielding against aerial approaches. for example, a 'chu camping there spamming neutral-b would be hell to deal with

third of all (is that a thing people say), it's huge af. our ruleset already kinda unfairly benefits offensive zoners and speedsters while harming very slow charaters like ganon or bowser, and this would just be another big stage that would overall hurt their viability for something they have no control over

and lastly, there may be issues with copyright. iirc big sm4sh tournaments weren't allowed to play on third-party stages because the companies would get antsy about their music being streamed without them getting any recompense from it. idk if atlus would be like that but that's potentially an issue that can arise as well
Your other points are valid, but I'm pretty sure the thicc platform is not always there. In fact, I think the stage starts without it, so it's possible that stage hazards off will cause that platform to not appear.

Regardless, I agree that people are overstating how viable the stage is. It's one thing to be big and symmetrical (Yoshi's Story), or small and asymmetrical (Castle Siege), but both big and asymmetrical is just not going to work.

Music copyright is a very messy minefield so pretty much every major Smash tournament prevents third party music from playing, so yeah, we aint getting that Rivers In the Desert EVO grand finals.

TBH the only reason I thought Atlus might be making Nintendo hold back in the first place was because of Jane.

However, that wasn't what happened, lol. He legit just wasn't ready yet 'cause the update he comes with is heckin' big.

Seriously, what happened with Home Run?

Are they delaying that mode for 4.0 or has it been cancelled?

either it's delayed or it was cut content with some scraps left in the code

Probably coming with 4.0 with Erdrick, methinks.

It might be canned, but it's too early to say. Let's see what dataminers find later tonight.

Probably gone for good. There would be no reason to delay it this long.

Not a big deal, honestly. I liked the stadium modes but let's not pretend people played them for longer than a full hour max during Smash 4's life.

not sure that was even a thing
It was in the datamine that leaked Stage Builder

Let’s see if that’s the case.

I personally can live without Home Run too, ngl.

Break The Targets doh, would be cool to have.

I mean, Stage Builder and Sony Vegas Pro....

The stage is cool and jamed pack full of references, but it couldn't have taken long to actually make. Then again I'm proven to consistently underestimate Smash's workload.
Everything from models for every character, three different variants of the stage, a custom battle screen, two different movesets, a custom battle gimmick with the Rebellion gauge, Mii costumes, an entire layered stage builder, balancing, tweaking...

Yeah you kinda do.

Oh, yeah... It's probably gonna be a Ryu situation all over again with Erdrick

They're likely saving him as the big character for E3, though we already know he exists, so we're all just gonna be like "cool", and act like nothing big happened

This speculation cycle is gonna be crazy, y'all

Can't wait for the "Day 1 Joker Mains" to drop him Day 2 with a twitlong explaining why they dropped Joker.
Joker may not be my main, but I am for sure going to play as myself from time to time whenever I pick the Character Pack.

I'm hoping for some Kirby buffs tonight. I also wouldn't mind a buff to Luigi's tether (ability to ledge grab, please).

Yeah you kinda do.
The stage variant is literally changing the color and a few cosmetic details. Seriously, they just made a base, then copy/pasted and changed the colors and a few details. If they built each one from scratch then that's just working harder, not smarter.

I'm not gonna argue, I just don't think I can be convinced that Smash isn't way simpler to make compared to other fighting games. The stage builder, yes, that took a while, but come on. I seriously believe that smash development takes too long because Sakurai doesn't take any shortcuts and intentionally makes his job harder than it needs to be.

Ideally my dream E3 reveal would be a Xenoblade X port, and Neku and Elma for Smash

But I’ll settle for Erdrick and Elma, long as my girl makes it somehow

With some luck, maybe Eight gets in at least as one of Erdrick’s alts.

And sure, Elma would be cool to have in the game too.

I'm not going to touch all of these but,

I really think that the 5 dlc characters are gonna be third party only.
Seems pretty possible, although I don’t count on it to prevent any dissapointment.

That's how he rolls. He is a perfectionist.

There is no conspiracy theory. He simply has a lot of artistic integrity. It takes time to finish projects for him.

Brave is a team up character like Ice Climbers. It consists of Resident Hill and Silent Evil, two spookybois
