Not even gonna lie Agumon is a pretty slept on Namco rep. I remember the Digimon-Pokemon rivalry being ****ing huge when I was little. You can't deny that one of the big reasons Sonic hot in was because of his Rivalry with Mario.

Pokemon by nature has a lot of casual appeal though, at least far more then your Metroids, F-Zeros, or Dark Souls. They're simple to understand and get into, has gameplay that is appealing to all different groups of people, and monsters with widespread appeal. Additionally, much of its media appeals to a casual audience as the anime is a merchandising show, Go has huge appeal with those who exclusively play on phones, and toys that kids love to play with. It does have elements that a hardcore crowd can appreciate of course like competitive, but it doesn't change the fact that at its core Pokemon's appeal is greatly owed to its accessibility.

The main appeal of Pokémon is it's accessibility for all kinds of gamers, making it, by definition, not a casual game. It has potential to be played casually, but degrading it to being "a casual game" is Just ignorant.

Also Pokémon Go is in no way related to Pokémon and I still don't understand why people keep bringing that weird bootleg premium **** into this discussion.

I think Erdrick is most-likely because of what insiders have heard, but it could be Agumon, Sora, Agnes or whoever as well, or anyone else if the codenames weren't actually meant to be tied to the character specifically.

I’m an Erdrick supporter (or a general DQ supporter to be more correct), but I feel like he isn’t completely confirmed until Nintendo says so.

More so after stuff like Grinch, Piranha Plant or Rayman.

Post count used to be an indicator of how much you contributed in various areas/threads on the website, but now is mostly means you post a lot in Social threads.

I still think it should be like Forum Games where it doesn't add to your post count total if it's a social thread, but it doesn't really matter that much.

I do think Agumon is slept on pretty heavily but I don't think he will be our Namco Rep if we get one.

Agumon has things going for him and at this point in time I would say he's even more likely than characters like Geno/Dixie/Bandana Dee/Etc, Digimons rivalry with Pokemon was huge like you mentioned and even today it still has it's fans to the point that it's better known than a lot of other franchises.

I think he has a chance and is more likely than characters like Heihachi but I do think the Namco Rep will be Lloyd.
