xenoblade 2 is one of those games that you have to get past the flaws to enjoy

if you can do that then it's an incredible game but if you can't then it's best to not waste your sixty bucks

Yeah, I don't hate the game by any means, I just don't know if it would be for me. The game probably is fun, and I've certainly played games with cringy designs before (I put like, 300 hours into FE Fates), but for whatever reason XB2 just doesn't interest me.

I'm just curious as to why it seems that only the designs alone seem to be the main topic whenever XC2 gets brought up. Not for the reasons, that much I know, but it seems as if that's the ONLY thing that's ever been talked about.

Like the game has been out for a year and three months, and I've never really seen anyone on here talk about the music, gameplay, structure or what have you, cause honestly, XC2 definitely does somethings better than the OG Xenoblade.

But hey, what do I know, I'm just your friendly neighborhood totally legal and actual scientist.

As soon as I finish the main story I’ll be more open to talking about the other stuff more. I feel like before I say anything too concrete I should at least give it that much.

The Japanese form names also reference the age Poppi is supposed to have with her basic JS(alpha) being elementary school, JK (QT) being high school and QTπ being a college student. Those are abbreviations that are pretty much used there exclusively so a lot of the localization decided to go for jokes.

In my opinion, harems are not my thing. I prefer more slow, and grounded stories where the relationship grows over the course of the story. Are there anyone else who feels that way?

I’m more the same way and I plan to focus on those kind of relationships in my own stories, but I’m not gonna judge anyone who likes that kind of thing.

This, I gotta respectfully disagree. The speed of the combat is totally acceptable for what layout and strategies you have to do for any enemy or boss, what have you.

Hell, Final Fantasy IX is slower than Xenoblade 2, yet FF9 is also the best Final Fantasy game and is one of the greatest RPGs ever made, so I don't think there could really be a "slow combat system" in an RPG, IMO.

It's because the character designs are the only things people can complain about without actually having played the game to form their own opinions.

That's partly why I'm willing to try it out. The thing is that despite the horrible designs, it has a genuine following. People were upset when Rex was a mii costume for example. I wanna know why, so I'll try it out when the month is about to close off. I assume it's a good game underneath the questionable surface.

No, it's just that contrary to all of you, I got gud at Tiger! Tiger! Like I have done every stages with all ether & treasure got without getting once, and guess what? I got lots of good **** for it.

If you want my thoughts on the whole design thing, here ya go.

I could go either way and honestly don't care. And guess what? That goes with EVERY RPG I play. Like for FFVII, Tifa's got knockers for days, but that doesn't mean that she isn't a genuinely great character.

What I care about is how you take these characters with the writing, characterization and more, since I'm going to be around these people for quite a while. People here will go on about booty shorts, but will forget the whole thing about Pyra and Mythra having actual suicidal tendencies for what happened back long ago.
